Chapter 45 - Rainy Day Games

~~ Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired. ~~ Robert Frost

Port Charles, New York
Mt. Ascension

Elizabeth giggled as he swiftly rounded the front of the car and took her in his arms. Swinging her around on the grass and kicking up all golden, crunchy, fallen leaves in the process. They spun for what seemed like forever before he placed her back down on her feet. His arms never leaving her waist…she still felt as if she were flying.

Their eyes locked for a long moment and Elizabeth bit her bottom lip. Her hands linking around his neck. Already breathless, he leaned down anyway to kiss her once more. Holding her face tenderly in his hands as the sweetness of her lips served to intoxicate him even more.

He was almost literally – drunk with her.

He’d been doing this since they left the hospital. Kissing her on their walk down the hall. Smothering her in the elevator. Kissing her in the parking structure and then more and more in the car. Every red light a sudden opportunity for love.

Even now when she glanced back at the car that sat atop the bluff, the dashboard shown with evidence of a quick stop at a floral shop. The leather decorated with a huge spray of pink, blue, and white roses. She hadn’t even been aware that blue roses existed…but she should have known that Lucky Spencer could do anything. Even on short notice.

Especially in this mood.

Though she couldn’t recall ever seeing him in QUITE this good of a mood.

She laughed out loud as he hugged her. His arms wound so tight around her shoulders that she groaned. He placed sloppy, wet kisses by her ear and she squealed. Of course seen him happy before, but never like this. Never like someone could have told him the world had stopped turning, and it wouldn’t have mattered.

When he pulled back to gaze at her again she simply blushed and gazed back. "Why did you bring me here?" She smiled. "You know we have to be at Alexis’ office in just over an hour…you bring to this romantic place that we’re going to have to leave?…You’re such a tease."

He shook his head and grinned…continuously. The expression hadn’t left his face since they’d walked out of the doctor’s office. "You think I care about going to see Alexis right now? About going to see anybody?…All I care about is standing right in front of me…right this instant……this is…" he sighed, searching for the words that had alluded him all afternoon. And as twilight settled upon them, still he searched. "It’s amazing," he sighed. "It’s so much more than…amazing."

Before she could even respond, he took her hand in his and partly dragged, partly carried her closer to the edge of the cliff. Just close enough to see over the side. Where the end of the Earth gave way to the most beautiful view of Port Charles. The bluffs of Wyndemere had nothing on this place.

He wrapped his arms securely behind her from behind.

"You see this?" He asked. Still breathless. "I remember seeing this place for the first time as a little kid, and what I felt then…it was the closest thing to what I feel right this very minute…That’s why I brought you here…Yet," he paused. "Yet the feeling doesn’t even come close," he finished. Gazing down at her as he turned her around to face him.

"Not even close," he whispered once more. "Because this is just…" He was at a loss for words again and she grinned.

"I know," she sighed close to tears. "I know there’s no way to even…put words to…I mean…triplets, Lucky…three babies…I don’t even know how to –

"I know," he interrupted. The smile erupting once more as he nodded absently. "It’s completely crazy. It’s wild isn’t it? I mean you and me and…

"And baby makes 3," she added with a grin. "Or FIVE in our case."

"Bigger tables at restaurants," he shrugged.

"A bigger car," she laughed.

"Hey - what? You don’t think we can all fit in the Mercury there?" He gestured. Pointing to it. "Come on…that car was BUILT for big families."

"No, no Honey," she sighed. Prancing over to it. She ran her hand along its sleek front lines. "This car was built to be a chick magnet…which it is of course…but not exactly a baby magnet."

Lucky’s mouth dropped open in mock shock and he followed her lead. Walking over to his classic old car. "What? Why not? It’s perfect – the backseat is huge."

"Babies are in the front seat now."

"They are?"

She laughed out loud at his wide-eyed stare. "Yeah…it seems we’re going to have to buy some books huh?"

His smile grew and he just shook his head from across the car. "I’ll read anything and everything there is to read. I just…this is just…

"Crazy," she filled in once more. "Absolutely, totally…unbelievably…

"Awesome," he finished from across the side of the hood.

She closed her eyes for a moment and then glanced towards the darkening night sky. "So what do you think?" She asked. Looking back down into his eyes.

He sighed. "I think you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen."

It hadn’t even been close to the answer she was looking for, but it stopped every word in her throat. Maybe her heart had indeed been looking for that, because it pounded loudly in her ears, and her voice was soft when it finally managed to emerge. "Thank…thank you."

"Don’t thank me for something you did all by yourself."

Her complete silence prompted him forward. "What was it you were going to ask?"

"Huh?"

Between the stars and his eyes, she’d completely lost her train of thought.

"You were going to say something," he grinned. "Before you were so rudely interrupted…You were going to ask me what I thought of something."

"Oh," she smiled. Brushing a few strands of hair behind her ears. He watched her so intensely, that she could actually feel his gaze. "I was just wondering if you had any feeling about…the sex."

"I’ve got plenty of feelings about the sex."

She giggled and shook her head. "Not THAT Horndog – I mean the sexes of our babies," she smiled. Placing both hands on her tummy.

Lucky licked his lips and rounded the front of the car slowly. Coming to stand right in front of her. He closed his eyes and placed both of his hands on top of hers. Pretending to have to think about it. "Two girls and one boy."

Her eyes flickered with glee and she bit her lip. "How do you know that?"

With one hand he reached up for the slightly swollen knot on the back of his head. "Let’s just say that when you faint…you’re not completely out…My brain played quite a few little home movies for me. Scary…scary…home movies…Well," he added. Glancing back at the car. Remembering…

"Not all scary."

Elizabeth’s brow creased. "You dreamt something? About our babies?"

He laughed out loud and shook his head. Scratching the back of it again. "Yeah it was…I don’t even really know how to describe it. It was sort of a cross between that movie, Ground Hog’s Day and an episode of Candid Camera…Every time I looked up I was reliving the knowledge that I was having 3 babies…and every time I looked up someone was trying to stop us from having sex."

Her face further scrunched. "The stopping us from having sex part was obviously a nightmare…but what about…what about the part about finding out you were having 3 babies…was that…I mean obviously your unconscious mind was trying to tell you something. Are you really stressed out about it? I mean –

"Don’t even start," he whispered. Cutting her off as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "I’m more happy about this, than I’ve ever been about anything in my life……Yes, of course – there’s this voice in the back of my mind that’s like ‘Ok Spencer, this is it – you better get your shit together...’ But Elizabeth this is…this is better than anything I’ve ever imagined."

A look of relief passed behind her eyes, but she looked down after a moment. Inhaling deeply. "I’m glad you feel that way…"

"Wait," he managed. Bending at the knees to meet her eyes when she didn’t look up. "You’re happy too right? I mean you seemed –

"Yes! Yes…of course!" She said quickly. Looking up. "I’m…I’m ecstatic…I’m….I’m SO happy. I just……

"Just," he grinned. "I know…’just.’…Just a little scared…"

"A LOT scared," she admitted. Breathing deeply again.

"Tell me," he said quickly. Taking both of her hands in his. Weaving his fingers through hers and playing with them reverently as she searched for words. "Tell me what you’re feeling…I wanna know everything."

She glanced around the clearing and shrugged. "Anything – everything. I mean I know she says I’m healthy and strong…but I just – I mean even so. Lucky what makes me think I can raise 3 kids and –

"Because you can," he answered swiftly. "Because you’re gonna be the most amazing mother I’ve ever seen."

He said it with such confidence that she couldn’t help but believe it. And when he leaned down to kiss her belly, she grinned softly. "You know when you say things like that…do things like that…I can believe it."

"Good," he answered with a smile. "Because it’s true."

After only a moment, Elizabeth covered her face with both hands and let out a yelp. "Oh my God! I can’t believe this!" She cried out. Laughter in her voice. She started hopping up and down.

Lucky threw his head back and groaned aloud as well. He was squeezing her tight a moment later. "I am the LUCKIEST man in the world…do you know that?"

She shook her head. "You couldn’t possibly be, because I’m the luckiest PERSON on the entire face of the Earth."

He grinned. "Oh boy, I’ve got a feeling all this happiness is going to wind up making everyone who comes into contact with us – gag."

"Hell, let them," she sighed. Looking up at the now dark sky. The stars having disappeared behind burgeoning rain clouds. "I plan on making TONS of people puke!"

Lucky laughed and kissed her face from top to bottom. Starting with her chin and then working his way up and then back down again. When he bent at the knee once more, he attacked her neck. A flash from his dream, slipping behind his closed eyes.

He remembered wanting to give her a hickey…how weird. He’d never wanted that before.

But she didn’t smell like baby powder yet. She smelled like Elizabeth. Sweet, yummy Elizabeth…with a touch of the coming rain lingering around every edge of her.

"So, Mr. Spencer," she asked. Giggling as he sucked on her neck. "I’m having 3 babies…which means that by tomorrow I could be as big as a house! Will you still love me?"

Pretending to think it over, he scratched the back of his head and then wiggled his eyebrows. "Yes…I believe I WILL still love you tomorrow."

She grinned at the pun as he continued to mumble against her neck. "Big as a house, apartment complex, or mansion."

When her body stilled, he looked up and bit back a curse. "I’m sorry….shit."

"Hey, hey," she whispered. Touching his face. "We’re not going there yet, ok? Right now, we’re talking about us and ONLY us."

"I know…" he agreed. Nodding. "I just don’t feel like pretending when we see Alexis tonight. I don’t feel like acting as if we’re not getting married and -

"Sssh," Elizabeth said. Shaking her head as she placed her fingers to his lips. "Just us right now. Ok? That’s it. Just us – happy."

He nodded quietly, before pulling her close and kissing her once more. Long and deep as the rain began to sprinkle around them. The heavens opening up to fully welcome fall to Port Charles.

When he pulled back he grinned at the way the water collected on her eyelashes. "You cold? You wanna get in the car?"

She shook her head and brought his face back to hers. Sucking on that luscious bottom lip of his. His own moisture mixed wonderfully with the fresh rain. It grew steadier as she continued to kiss him. Falling over them in a quiet rush of water.

Lucky licked his lips and stared longingly at her as the rain began to soak her. She pulled back after a second and quickly yanked her t-shirt over her head. Grinning the whole while.

He laughed out loud. "What are you doing?"

"Getting a little crazy……getting wet," she smiled. "And now it’s your turn," she instructed. Before reaching out herself to yank upwards on the hemline of his t-shirt.

He let out a little yelp as the rain began to pound as soon as his shirt was removed and lying on the hood of the car. He was looking down at her soaked head before he even had a chance to comment. Her lips having attached themselves to his nipple.

He groaned aloud and when her hand slipped inside the front of his jeans, he sucked in a breath. "Jeez…Elizabeth…

"Likely to increase….remember?" She grinned. Pulling her mouth away from his chest for just a moment. "Can you BELIEVE she said that? God, I can’t wait!"

It didn’t seem to him as if she’d have to. The libido the doctor had spoke of was already in full swing. Hell…they were already standing out in the middle of the rain, on a public piece of land…‘Oooooh…holy shit…’

She backed away from him and slid slowly back on the hood of the car before his very eyes. Toying with the front clasp of a bra that was nearly non-existent by this point. The lace drenched to the point of transparency.

For a moment, just a moment before she called his name – he thought maybe he was dreaming again. That they were back in the driveway of his parent’s house, and someone was about to come out and find his girlfriend sprawled on the hood of his car in the rain.

Find him standing there with a hard-on the size of all America.

Slowly he closed the distance between them. Once upon a time he would have been far too protective of his car to get on the hood and start crawling towards her, but shit…you only lived once…you only got down and dirty in the rain…once…

‘You don’t know that Spencer…it’s ‘increasing,’ remember? You might be out here once a week with Miss Nymph America…and boy oh boy what a treat for you!’

"Do you have any idea?" He sighed. Easing his hands up her denim clad legs as he reached her. "How good you look at this very moment…how badly I just wanna…"

"What?" She asked with a grin. Licking her lips suggestively as he glanced up. "Tell me."

His mouth pressed against her wet, covered crotch and she sucked air in through her teeth. Her head dropping back against the window. Quickly she reached down to weave her fingers through his drenched strands. They were dark, and so were her eyes when she finally glanced down to see what he was doing.

Using his mouth on top of the material. Easing her thighs apart as the rain pounded on his back. Sliding down his skin until it hit the metal of the car beneath them. Her hips arched towards his face as his fingers nimbly reached for her waistline. Unsnapping one button, and then unzipping the rest if the way. The soft swell of her belly, turned him on even more and he suddenly needed out of his own constraints.

Elizabeth fidgeted restlessly on top of the car as he curled his fingers over the sides of her pants and began to pull. Her breath coming fast now. "You didn’t tell me," she panted. "You didn’t tell me what you were going to say…what you wanted to do to – aaaaaaah…"

His fingers were inside her before she could even finish the sentence, and before she could care to think of the next word. She moaned and stretched languidly as he reached up with his other hand to unsnap the useless bra. Hoisting himself up to drink from her as the rain fell on top of them both.

"Oh…oh God," she moaned. Arching again and again beneath his hand as he pleasured her with agile fingers. She hadn’t expected this. She’d thought maybe some kissing. Maybe some clothes would come off. But never – "Aaaaaaaaah….Lucky…"

Though the air was starting to turn cold, each of them were hot. Steaming for each other as he moved against her. Suckling one aching nipple as his throbbing sex brushed against her thigh.

The continuous arching of her body told him she was about to come. For, he couldn’t hear her breathing anymore – the usual indicator - above the rain. Everything he knew, he read from the way she moved against his mouth. Against his car.

"In my dream," he panted against her chest as he began to break apart. His tongue returned to rim each nipple intermittently. "You…you were like this…only…only in the car…and it wasn’t…it wasn’t my fingers…in – inside you…it was me…all of…all of me…every inch…fucking you…"

She came in mad torrents against around his two fingers. Her sweet nectar coating him as the water from the sky did as well.

This was what he’d longed for in his dream. What he suddenly wanted with no remorse now. Her total abandonment. Her wild, unbridled, uncontrollable yearning to find pleasure in him. To give to him. To please…

He didn’t know where it came from. But he wanted it.

His fingers continued to work against that soft, sensitive nub as she came once more. Small quivering taking place throughout her entire body as she looked up to the heavens that still opened for them. Cooling her down just a bit as her body began to calm itself down.

Satisfaction working it’s way through her bones.

But his bones weren’t satisfied yet and when he picked her up and carried her off of the slippery hood, she felt the most agitated of bones slide against her hip once more. As her panties, clung lifelessly about her knees.

Leather slipped against her wet back and she knew the feeling of his weight would slide on top of her next. She sighed when it did. Thinking back to how badly she wanted this one night months ago. The night she’d broke down in his backseat and had to be taken home. To his home – where she belonged.

The conception of their children had been inevitable it seemed now. For even though they hadn’t made love in this car, they’d planted the seeds in his apartment…that night.

"I want you," she sighed deeply. Wrapping her arms about his strong, wet shoulders. "I want you right now…"

Lucky licked at every available inch of her skin and reached down to remove the scrap of material that still bound her legs from being pushed as wide as they needed to be, beneath him. He sighed in contentment when she opened for him. Her thighs welcoming him home as he removed his boxerbriefs the rest of the way. Throwing them over to the front seat as he finally closed the door behind him.

The windows fogged immediately. The moisture from the rain and their body heat creating steam that closed them off from the rest of the world as a real storm began to brew inside.

He sucked deeply from her growing breasts. Taking her fully within the confines of his warm mouth. She sighed and writhed beneath him. Feeling his firm erection graze her already swollen desire once more.

She wanted him closer, and she pulled him more tightly against her. His hips moved languidly against hers and she groaned. Pressing her fingers into the taut muscles of his back and then sliding down to his ass. How could drenched skin feel so warm? So incredibly hot?

But that’s the way he’d always been. He’d always been able to warm her up beyond belief. He’d always had the ability to change every thing about her. Even the biological happenings in her own body.

He’d caused this. He’d given her the children to plant in her womb. Just like he had that first time around.

Elizabeth closed her eyes to the image of her daughter’s face and knew that it would be ok. That it was she who made it ok to be happy. And that after a few things more things were taken care of…after she got to say goodbye properly…things would be even better.

But for now, her daughter gave her full permission to be loved and to give love, to this man. To her father.

He slipped deep inside her and lodged himself there for a long moment. Neither of them wanting to move at first. Just to feel. Elizabeth reveling in the sensation, Lucky reliving the dream. Reveling in pure, unadulterated happiness for the first time in years.

Nothing could have been better than this feeling. Nothing at all could have been better than this.

He could think of nothing, and wanted to think of nothing. For he was content now. Content to be loving this woman from inside of not just her body, but her soul. Content to be as close to his family as he could possibly be.

She lifted her lips to his wet forehead as he began to move within her. As if welcoming him. As if beckoning him to make a place for himself in the home she provided. The home expanded and welcomed him over and over – just like it had in the dream. Just like it had – always.

His flesh slid against hers. Wet silk easing against wet steel. Pressing her to the worn leather beneath her. So many sensations to feel. Everything overwhelmed them both as they already neared the point of ecstasy.

Lucky groaned aloud and pulled back before plunging forward once more. Like in his dream, he wanted it to last forever. And even though he knew there would be times like this again. Times when he could take a drive with Elizabeth and make love to her in the backseat of his car…Something else in the back of his mind told him that he had to savor this moment. That it wouldn’t always be so easy.

And the feeling didn’t come from remembering how busy they’d been in his dreams. The feeling came from something else. Something he couldn’t quite name. Something he couldn’t quite put his finger on, but knew was there…just in the background.

As she moaned, the thoughts dissipated from his mind. He thought of nothing else but her as he made love to the most beautiful woman in the world. The most beautiful woman, who carried the most beautiful children.

She could have been reading his mind. He’d never know for sure, but when her voice whispered something against his ear he pulled back just a tad to gaze. To try and concentrate as he pumped slowly into the confines of her tight body. Letting his hands travel up her thighs and her warm sides. Sliding along each moist curvy line.

"What did they….look like?" She asked again breathlessly. The burning between her thighs nearly too much to bear.

"What?" He asked hoarsely as his hands slid beneath her shoulders. Moving closer to her. Her head bumped into side door and he stopped moving immediately. "Oh Gosh…I’m sorry…Are you ok?"

She laughed deeply and he felt it move through him. He still pulled him closer. Smothering her with a long, deep kiss.

"I’m...I’m fine," she smiled. "And if you don’t start moving again, I’ll open the door and throw you out of this car."

"Oh," he smiled seductively. "Well then…I better get…going…"

Elizabeth gasped when he plunged deeply within her. Grinding deeply against her hips. "Ooooh….G - ….I…

"You asked me a question?" He said. Grinning at her as he continued to work his magic. "You asked me what…what they looked like…our children?"

"Y - yes…were they…did they look like…

He closed his eyes and shook his head before she could continue. He’d feel guilty for not wanting to think about her later. But at that moment he had to let her go. If he didn’t, he’d get lost in it.

"They were the most…the most beautiful chil - children, but I can’t – I don’t know…it’s like a part of me didn’t….didn’t want to see…wanted to be…

"Surprised?" She filled in. Letting her head fall back as her walls began to clench around him. The inevitable climax taking over.. "But they were…they were beautiful?"

"Like their mother," he sighed. Burying his face in her neck as his hips sped up. "So beautiful."

Elizabeth groaned as she came. Loud and as hard in the backseat of their car as the rain pelted down hard on the roof. Coming in mad roars of excitement. Being set free, just like the storm outside.

And he came undone as well. Losing every ounce of control as he poured torrents of love inside of her. His juices much hotter than the rain but just as refreshing – body and soul.

The heat in the car, as each of them came down slowly from their highs of ecstasy, made the smell of the flowers that lay in the front seat even more intense, and she gazed at them through semi-shut eyes as he pulled her close. Tugging the blanket blue blanket that lay draped over the seat down and wrapping it around her. She sighed as she crawled on to his lap.

Her bones felt melted…soft and buttery.

She arranged the blanket so that it covered his shoulders as well, and she lay her head on his chest. Listening to his heartbeat as his flesh continued to heave for lost air. She kissed his heart and lay her head against it as her finger trailed it’s way down the line that separated each half of his chest. "They were beautiful because you are," she sighed. "And you’re…you’re gonna be the most fantastic father."

When she sniffled, he looked down. Drawing his fingers through the matted front of her hair. "Sweetie, don’t –

"I’m sorry," she sniffled again. "I’m just…you know…pregnant."

He laughed from some satisfied place and wrapped his arms even tighter around her warm body. Kissing the top of her head. "Yeah, I know……and you know what I promise you at this very moment?"

"What?" She asked thickly. Dabbing at her eyes with the corner of their blanket.

"I promise that I will NEVER forget the diapers, or the pacifier, I’ll never leave our kids on top of the car…and I will start looking for a three-seated stroller FIRST thing tomorrow morning."

She looked up at him and laughed so loudly that he began to laugh too. Stroking her bare back. "Residual effects from my dream…sorry," he grinned.

When she sighed against his chest a moment later, he tilted her chin up towards his. "What’s wrong Baby?"

Elizabeth slid her hands up his chest and linked them behind his neck. Closing her eyes when his arms slid around her upper back once more. Holding her blanket in place. "How are we going to keep this a secret Lucky? I was joking before, but pretty soon I’m going to be too big to even THINK about keeping it a secret and…and truth be told Lucky, I don’t WANT to keep it a secret."

He kissed her forehead and let his mouth linger there for a long moment. "I don’t want to either. God, I feel like standing on the edge of that cliff over there and screaming it to the entire world."

"But," she added with a sigh. "We can’t do that. And we both know that Alexis is going to tell us something that we don’t wanna hear tonight."

Lucky licked his lips and glanced at his watch. The only accessory that remained on his body. "If she doesn’t decide to cancel on us all together."

Elizabeth grinned and lay her head back on his chest. Giggling though she knew it probably wasn’t funny for Alexis. "We are two selfish bastards aren’t we?"

"Oh the worst," he sighed. Grabbing her face to kiss her once more. "Can you believe how bad we are?" He asked between kisses. "We’re supposed to be there in 20 minutes, and we’re up on top of Look Out Point, going at it like two teenagers."

"No," she giggled against his lips. "If we had done this when we were teenagers maybe it’d be out of our systems."

After a beat, each of them shook their heads. Agreeing at once. "Naaah."

"You," he mumbled. Feeling her small hand slide down his abs and towards his flaccid penis. She drew her fingernails down his length. "You…" he hissed through his teeth. "I could NEVER get out of my system…We’ll be 70 and I’m gonna wanna bring you up here and make wild, passionate love to you in the backseat of this car."

"You’re still planning on having this car?" She murmured before his tongue swept across hers.

"Any damn car," he growled. Sucking her bottom lip between his teeth. "But honestly…yes – it’s a damn fine car. I plan on having it just as long as I have you."

"Ooooh," she smiled around his mouth. "Forever?"

"Forever," he moaned. Feeling him self stir under her fingertips. "And you know…if you keep touching me like that, we will definitely………be in the backseat of this car," he paused. His tongue, too busy making love to hers. "Forever."

"You promise?" She giggled. Moving to straddle him. Biting her lip as he groaned aloud.

His hands slid up her knees and towards the wanting apex of her thighs. "I can promise you that once we’re done with this meeting tonight, that I’m gonna finish this……

"Finish wha….

And she gasped as his finger slid slowly between her folds. Bringing her moist body to another climax in three seconds flat.

Her head fell against his shoulder and she bit him lightly and she sighed breathlessly. "I’m gonna hold you to that promise."

He rimmed her ear with his tongue and pulled her tightly against him again. Swooping her up into his arms as he pushed the side door open with one hand.

She squealed when they hopped out into the cold. It had stopped raining, but was freezing now. "Lucky! Let’s get back in! What are you doing?!"

With the blanket tucked around her, he carried her over to the edge of the cliff. To what looked like the edge of the world and did what he’d said he’d felt like doing. Did what he couldn’t seem to STOP him self from doing. With the woman he loved in his arms, her arms wrapped securely around his neck, he leaned over and shouted at the very top of his lungs:

"I LOVE THIS WOMAN! AND SHE’S HAVING OUR BABIES! THREE OF THEM! TRIPLETS!!! AND IT’S AMAZING!"

Elizabeth laughed out loud and tightened her hold around him as she kissed him all over. His neck, his chin – anything she could reach.

When he let her down, they kissed again. Intensely and lovingly sealing their happiness with the kind of kiss that neither of them would ever forget. The kind that could sweep you away in it’s glory for at least another twenty minutes or so.

Years from now they would tell their children about the day they’d found out about them, and tell them about how excited they were. How’d they’d driven up to the mountains and shouted crazy things at the city, over the side of a cliff, because they’d been unable to keep their happiness inside.

Maybe they’d leave the buck-naked part out…but they’d tell them.

~~~~~~
Almost Two Hours Later
The Office of Alexis Davis
Alex sighed and sat back down in her chair. Letting her file folder fall open on her desk when she saw them move sheepishly through the door.
"Well…just when I thought I’d be having dinner early tonight…
"Sorry," Elizabeth said as she looked down. Biting the corner of her lip as she sat.
They’d had to go home first, and pick out new clothes and shower…together…of course.
"Yeah, we’re sorry," Lucky put in. Licking his lips as they sat across from the attorney. "We got caught up in the storm."
"It stopped raining over two hours ago," Alexis informed sternly. Glancing behind her at the already dried droplets on her window. These two weren’t fooling anyone.
She still remembered them running around trying to have sex on Halloween a few years prior. Who did they think they were kidding?
"Right," Elizabeth concurred quickly. Thinking of something to say as she glanced nervously at Lucky. "But…his car…see – the old Mercury…"
"The damn thing conks out as soon as it even SEES rain," Lucky added quickly. Easing his hands along the armrests of the chair. He shook his head as if annoyed with his automobile.
‘Don’t hear me baby,’ he thought. As if his car could telepathically read his thoughts from outside. ‘I love you…I really do.’
"Maybe you should see about getting a new car," Alexis sighed. Rifling through the documents for Elizabeth’s case.
"Oh no," Lucky grinned. Turning to Elizabeth rather quickly. "Never getting rid of that car."
Alexis looked up and smiled before returning to her task. They didn’t even SEE her. They could have been anywhere in the world right then. "Nostalgia huh?"
"Oh you have no idea," Elizabeth quipped. Biting her tongue a second later when Lucky glared.
They both clamed up when Alexis cleared her throat a moment later. "Ok…I called you here today Elizabeth because things seem to be at a stand still with Alex’s lawyers. It seems to me that for whatever reason – they’re stalling –
"I think I know how to fix that," Elizabeth interrupted. Staring down at her hands for a moment before reaching out for Lucky’s. "Tell him I’m giving up any rights I might have had to the gallery. I don’t want it."
Lucky glanced at her and inhaled deeply. She’d told him she was doing this, but still he knew that it was tearing her up inside to say it out loud. To really mean it.
She’d worked hard for the place and now…like everything else – he was taking it from her. He hated him. He hated him so much, he could taste it with every breath.
Alexis regarded both of them soberly. "You’re absolutely sure about that? It’s the ONE thing you asked for in the settlement. You’re sure this isn’t something you want to reconsi -
"No," Elizabeth answered quickly. "I’ve made up my mind. If trying to get ownership of the Hart & Hart is what’s holding up this damn divorce, than I don’t want any part of it. I can do without it. The bastard’s already changed everything there anyhow…whatever," she sighed. Shrugging. "I’ll start over on my own."
She should have gone with her first impression. Not asking for it. Giving it up completely. But when she’d thought about what that meant, she couldn’t. She’d had to ask for at least partial ownership.
Yes, she should have gone with her first inclination.
Nodding, Alexis noted her client’s wishes down on a few various sheets of paper. "Ok, if that’s what you want. I’m sure that actually will speed things up a bit. He seems determined to keep everything he ever put one cent into…Quite the little wannabe Cassidine, if he does say so himself," she quipped almost to herself.
Lucky sighed and gripped his chair with a bit more force than he should have. Easing up to see the pads of his fingers imprinted on the wood. Little white ridges where his nails had cut into it.
‘Shit…get a grip Spencer…or loosen up as the case may be.’
"So how much longer can he drag this out?" He asked suddenly. Elizabeth noticed the edge in his voice and reached for his hand. Covering it with her own.
"Unfortunately, even with my trying to speed things up – if you have money – which Alex does…you can make things take just about as long as you want."
Lucky shook his head. "He’s got a lot more to own up to than a damn divorce. He might as well just let it happen. He’s gonna be in court for the next few months anyway," he seethed. "And then he’ll be in his own little 3x5 cell. We can ship his stupid paintings to him if he wants."
Thinking of Alex behind bars was a happy thought. He flexed his tense fingers beneath hers, and then linked them.
Alexis licked her lips and turned towards Elizabeth. Something told her that the quicker this meeting was over, the better. And she hadn’t even told them her news yet.
"Is there anything else? Any other changes you want me to make? As it stands now, things seem pretty final."
"No," Elizabeth answered, shaking her head. "Do it. Just get it done. I just want this to be over…now more than ever," she sighed. Easing her hands across her abdomen.
Alexis’ eyes dropped to follow the gesture. Most people wouldn’t have caught it, but her eyes were trained to size up a client. And in one second she knew.
She glanced at Lucky, who inadvertently glanced at her stomach.
"Ok, what else?" Alexis began. "There’s something I’m not being told here. Elizabeth if I’m going to be any help to you, I need to know everything…Forewarned is forearmed."
Elizabeth bit her lip and pushed a few non-existent strands of hair behind her ear. Glancing at Lucky before she said the words. He nodded in agreement.
"We were going to tell you this. We just…well, today we got more news so it’s probably a good thing that we waited."
"You’re pregnant," Alexis surmised. Glancing from one of them to the next. She held her breath as they both looked at each other and grinned slightly.
"Y – yes," Elizabeth nodded slowly. "But that’s not…See, the thing is," she explained. "If it were just…ONE baby I might be able to hide it for awhile…but from the looks of things, I’m gonna explode here any minute."
Alexis’ brow creased and Lucky finished the explanation. "We’re having triplets…We’re already 3 months along."
As Alexis’ eyebrows shot up a few more notches, Elizabeth smiled softly at the way Lucky said ‘we’re’ already 3 months along, as if he were pregnant too. The more she thought about it, the more it made her smile.
Slowly, Alexis nodded in acknowledgement. "Well this does put a new spin on things doesn’t it?…Congratulations by the way," she said. Smiling just as softly at them a moment later.
Seeing how happy they were, and being happy for them, made what she had to tell them even more difficult. She already knew how they were going to take it and it wouldn’t be pretty.
"I’m glad you told me," she said after a moment. Jotting something down. "However, it doesn’t change something that I need to advise you to do…in fact, it makes it all that more important."
Lucky’s brow creased. The thing he’d been afraid of was coming. The reason something in the back of his mind had told him to savor every moment of this afternoon, began to brew again in the pit of his stomach and he knew before she even said it…what she was going to say.
"What is it?" Elizabeth asked. Glancing back and forth at each of them. Lucky already knew. She could see it in his eyes. Only she couldn’t read it.
Alexis took a deep breath and regarded both of them with her arms folded over her desk. "It came to my attention, the other day when I was talking to my nephew…that the two of you brought Audrey home to live with you for awhile until she gets back on her feet."
"That’s a problem?" Elizabeth asked in confusion.
"No, not at all…However, what is a problem is that somehow…in the midst of all that’s been going on, the fact that you two are LIVING together – escaped me."
Elizabeth opened her mouth, and Alexis held up a hand to stop her before she even started. "I know. I KNOW it’s a lot to ask. Especially of two people that have spent many years apart…but I’m afraid I have to…We’re dealing with a man who makes his decisions based on spite and vengefulness. He doesn’t use logic or intelligence…Alexander Hart goes simply by whom has done him ‘wrongs,’ and whom he feels he has to punish….That being said, I think it’s obvious that we have to be extremely careful here.
"Think of how long he’s already held things up over a business arrangement for God’s sake," Alexis continued. "Can you imagine what he could do if he decided he didn’t like the idea of his WIFE – because TECHNICALLY," she said quickly. Before Elizabeth cut in. "You are STILL his wife…living with the man he has made no qualms about saying he absolutely despises?"
Lucky bit back a foul curse, but his tongue couldn’t be stopped. "At least we know the feeling is mutual."
Elizabeth’s eyes began to cloud with tears. Anger and sadness colliding thickly in her chest. She didn’t want to be without him again! She didn’t want to live without him again!
She felt Lucky’s fingers weave tightly through her own, as Alexis began to speak again. "Listen, I know this sounds harsh…but hopefully it won’t be for that long. Hopefully as soon as Alex realizes that you no longer want any part of the gallery, he’ll relent……I just feel as if this is the wisest thing to do at this point. Elizabeth, you’ve told me more than once that he’s had you followed – it’s possible that he already knows, that you two are –
"No one’s following her anymore. I’ve already seen to that."
Alexis turned towards Lucky and inhaled through her nose because something about the way he’d said it sounded sinister. "I’m not going to ask what that means, because I didn’t hear it."
"That’s fine," he seethed. Looking down.
Taking another deep breath, Alexis turned to Elizabeth and then back to Lucky. "So does this seem like something that you two can do? I have to tell you that I think it’s necessary. Especially, Elizabeth…if you’re expecting a child – children," she corrected. I need you to stay as low key as you possibly can."
More hiding. More of keeping the good news to herself. She hated it…she hated it…
"What exactly do you expect her to do? Move to Siberia, while Asshole figures out what the Hell he wants to do?" Lucky snapped suddenly.
Elizabeth tightened her hold on his hand. "No, Elizabeth I’m serious," he continued. "This is bullshit. We shouldn’t have to hide and –
"You’re absolutely right Lucky," Alexis interrupted. "You shouldn’t have to. And if things go as planned you WON’T have to for more than a couple of weeks at the most. But for now, I’m afraid that this is how things have to be. As for Elizabeth moving to Siberia," she added. Turning towards her. "Of course not. I’m not suggesting that you MOVE anywhere. I’m simply suggesting that you don’t go out of your way to get in Alex’s face. That you don’t visit the gallery, that you don’t travel to Evergreen any time soon for any reason. That you stay in Port Charles and stay out of his way. What ever you can do to minimize contact with Alex…is good.
"By the time you start to show," she added after a moment. "This will all be over…You’ll be free to live wherever you want, and do whatever you want."
She wanted to believe it. God she did, but it just seemed like one thing after another! Wasn’t it bad enough that she couldn’t wear her engagement ring? Now she had to move out of Lucky’s apartment too? This was so unfair! Every, single time they got close to be happy…
"This is all sounding pretty easy, but I think what you’re forgetting is that I don’t have any money of my own at this point," Elizabeth sighed in frustration. "I don’t know where I’m supposed to –
"You’ll stay at the apartment with your grandmother. I’ll move out."
"Lucky –
He continued, when she interrupted. "First thing tomorrow morning, I’ll talk to the landlord and we’ll get everything switched over to your name. It shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours."
"Lucky that’s ridiculous. It’s your house. I can just ask Emily if I can stay with –
"Elizabeth, I’m not gonna have you running all over town trying to find some place to stay. Not now…not when you’re carrying my children. It’s a lot easier for me to pick up and move than it is for you and your gram at this point, ok?"
She was silent and he gave her fingers a gentle squeeze. "Please?"
After a moment she nodded and bit down in her bottom lip. Trying to keep her chin from trembling.
Alexis nodded after a moment. Feeling like the third wheel in a very personal conversation. "Ok, I’m going to let you two go and figure things out…I thank you for your patience. I know it’s not easy," she added. Placing her folder inside of her briefcase. "I’m going to call Alex’s lawyers with the news about the gallery and then I’ll be in contact…..Thank you again," she sighed before opening her door. "You two can turn off the lights for me when you leave."
Lucky nodded but never took his eyes away from Elizabeth’s.
The door closed a second later and Elizabeth shut her eyes. "I hate this."
He was out of his chair in a flash and wrapping his arms around her shoulders from behind just as quickly. He quietly rested his head on top of hers. "Me too…me too."
Six Hours Later
Above The Bikeshop
Lucky’s Old Room
Lucky spread each document out on the bed, letting his eyes travel from the first page of the makeshift journal, to the last. Reading it all over again. From the first day they’d decided to invade his life, to the last. Each and every move he made documented. Each and every move Elizabeth made documented.
The anger boiled again in his stomach and he forced it down.
He couldn’t fathom why he’d gone home to his parent’s house after their meeting with Alexis. But it seemed he’d needed to see this again. He’d made one stop there, and one at the cabin.
Maybe this was simply his motivation. The promise of revenge that kept him going when things started to seem unfair again. When things got a little too twisted, to reconcile in his head.
Alex had tortured the both of them for years, and even when they’d pushed him out of their lives, he was still there. Still keeping them apart.
He wanted to be with her – that was all. And apparently it was too much to ask. Apparently it was too much to want to spend his every moment with his pregnant…fiancée. A word he couldn’t even say out loud yet.
And it pissed him off more than he could say to have her across town. Sleeping in a bed that he should have been in as well.
The sound of the rain pulled him out of his thoughts, he turned around to glance out of the window. How many nights had they sat here as teenagers? Watching the rain pitter-pat against window. Or watching the snowfall? Too many to count.
But there’d been too few nights spent together in this bed. And none spent making love.
He remembered the one time they’d gotten close. On a Halloween night about 5 years ago now. A Halloween where they’d been so tired that they’d simply fallen asleep in each others arms. Listening to the rain, just like it fell now.
Only this time he was alone. Alone with only the 8 x11 memories of what his life had been like in Greenwich Village to keep him company.
‘You should just be grateful,’ a voice in his head suddenly reminded as he thought back to the beginning of the day. ‘You’re having babies. They’re healthy and their mother is healthy and you should just be…
A sudden knock at the door broke through his thoughts and Lucky quickly glanced behind him at the watch he’d sat on the nightstand to serve as an alarm clock. Most of his old furniture of course, had been moved out with him during the trek to Greenwich.
But it was almost 3:30 in the morning…Who the Hell…
He leaned over slowly and grabbed the bat that still remained beneath the bed. Calmly inching off of the mattress after he held it securely in one hand. He shifted it behind his back as he walked towards the door. Cursing silently at the fact that there’d never been a peephole.
When he flung the door open, each of them gasped. He dropped the bat and was holding her in his arms before it clattered to the floor.
"What are you doing?" He asked. Still hugging her as he started to lecture. "I coulda knocked your head off – are you crazy? What are you doing driving around at 3:30 in the morning? Are you crazy?"
"Stop asking me if I’m crazy," she sighed. Holding him tightly around the waist. "I’m perfectly sane…I just wanted to see you – is that so crazy? I haven’t been able to sleep all night. I don’t know how to sleep without you anymore. It was bad enough when you left a few days ago…but this – knowing you’re just across town. This is ridiculous."
Pulling just far enough away to place his hands on either side of her face and look at her, he shook his head. "Elizabeth we can’t do this…When Alexis told us to stop living together. I think it meant stop sleeping together – in the same bed – at night."
Elizabeth pushed out her bottom lip and pouted. "I’m sorry but the phone wasn’t good enough."
"Ok, ok…" he sighed. Closing the door behind her as he pulled her inside. God, every inch of him wanted her there just as much as she wanted to be there. He didn’t want to take her home…he didn’t want to…
In a heartbeat she was sent hurtling back in time. The murals on the wall transported her to a different place. "Wow…it hasn’t changed."
Lucky watched her from behind as she stood in the middle of the room. Looking around. How many times had he done this when they were kids? Just…staring.
"Yeah, Jason’s kept it pretty much as is," he explained. Finding his voice as he watched the ends of her hair drift along her shoulders. "You know him – not exactly the interior decorator type."
She giggled, and he too was transported once more. When she turned around, he inhaled deeply. Wanting nothing more than to spend the night with her here…and not just so that she could fall asleep.
Biting her bottom lip she glanced over her shoulder at the bed. The bed they’d never gotten to do anything in…
But something else caught her eye. Why was he putting himself through this?
"You’re looking at all this again?" She asked suddenly. Lifting a sheet of paper from atop the comforter. "Lucky…there’s no point in doing this to yourself. Until after the divorce is final why do you even bother? All it does is infuriate –
He’d closed the distance between them in one stride. Closing the rest of the inches that separated them, with a searing kiss. He was steering her towards the head of the bed in moments. Sweeping the various sheets of paper to the floor with one hand.
"I’ve been thinking about you since we….since I dropped you off at home," he groaned. Eagerly unsnapping the buttons on her coat.
She moaned as he aggressively lifted her by her thighs and deposited her quickly on top of the bed. "I knew I wouldn’t be able to…to sleep without you either…that’s why I was looking at all…this…crap," he mumbled. His lips moving hurriedly down the line of flesh that was revealed as he unfastened each button of her blouse now.
Why couldn’t she ever just wear a pullover? Always with the buttons…
"Thinking about…this…this skin," he sighed. His tongue licked its way down and down…
"About how wet it was this afternoon……if I could…maybe get it that wet…without the rain…"
She groaned and writhed against the comforter as his tongue found it’s way under the elastic of her pants. His hands busily tugged the sides of those pants down. Revealing cotton underwear. Revealing her uninhibited excitement. She tried to reach for him. Tried to remove his clothes, but her hands wouldn’t cooperate. Not when he was…
"Oh God," she moaned. Her eyes rolling back in her head as she glanced at the ceiling and then the walls. Blue sea-sides blurred before her eyes as his tongue made her just as wet as the rain had. As his tongue dragged itself mercilessly between her trembling thighs. Over and over, deep into her throbbing femininity.
Her fingers twisted themselves within his hair. It was growing now. It was just long enough to anchor her fingers inside as he continued to go down on her with more enthusiasm than she ever remembered him having…and that was saying…a lot.
Lucky held her thighs open as her body began to quake and shiver. As her small frame turned in ecstasy beneath him. He pet her smooth legs and kept at it. Mumbling something about wanting to taste her until she couldn’t take it anymore.
She whimpered and moaned…pulling his hair as she did so.
"Do want me to stop?" He asked. Sucking now. Tugging her agitated nub into his wet mouth and pushing her closer and closer towards the edge. "You want more?…."
When his tongue closed around her, she sighed the word ‘yes,’ over and over again. As if she couldn’t stop saying it. The word ‘more’ quickly followed and she found herself begging him not to stop.
It felt better than anything she’d ever felt in her life, and she wanted to feel it forever.
Elizabeth reached for the headboard railings behind her. Tightening her fingers around them as she remembered the time he’d kneeled behind her. It’d been Christmas…and she’d been placing their stockings there…
It had also been the first time she’d felt how excited he could get…behind her.
The memory flashed before her eyes like a home movie, as she started to burst into tiny pieces. Coming in a fitful frenzy of movement. Hips undulating to the tune of his tongue. As he played her body, the way only he knew how. The way only he had ever done.
Lucky reveled in the taste of her sweetness. At the feel of her skin, tacky with perspiration as he let his fingers drift down the sides of her hips and then her thighs, and then her knees. He’d made her just as wet as the rain.
He watched as she started to sigh. Stretching as she came back to herself. Gazing down at him through hooded lashes as he started to crawl up towards her. Lying at her side.
She grinned at him like a satisfied cat, but he was the one who’d gotten to eat the…canary.
"And to think," she sighed. "I just came over here so you could help me fall asleep."
He kissed her ardently and mumbled against her lips. "I guarantee that you’ll sleep better…when we get to that," he finished. Placing his lips in the crook of her neck.
Elizabeth eased a thigh over his and moved closer. Her tongue flicking out to rim his bottom lip. "Your methods for curing insomnia sure have changed since the boxcar."
He grinned against her mouth and let his hand travel over the curve of her hip. "A lot of things have changed since the boxcar…………..Damn, have I told you how sexy you are pregnant?"
"Me?" She sighed. When she looked down as his palm smoothing its way across her skin, she caught the outline of something happening inside his pants. "What about you? I thought I was the one who was supposed to have the increased libido."
Lucky thought it over as he rolled on top of her once more. "Must be sympathy horniness."
She laughed loudly and he smothered the tale end of it with a kiss. Feeling it move through him once again.
"Will you get fat with me?" She giggled after he pulled back. Smoothing a strand of hair away from his forehead.
"Well I can tell you one thing," he sighed. Easing down his pajama pants. "I’ve got one monster of a craving…right this minute…."
"Oooh…oh yeah," she gasped. "I can…I can tell you’re pretty hungry there," she giggled as he slid inside her. "By all means…don’t let me stop you from…getting extra…extra helpings."
And neither of them stopped - all night long. Because the funniest thing happened when you had to be separated, it seemed you wanted each other…even more.
