Chapter 69
Lucky slowly pushed the door open, not surprised that it was
unlocked, just
ready and waiting for him to walk through it. 'Sam wants this,'
he thought.
'Sam orchestrated this entire thing: drugging me, kidnapping
Liz...she
probably even left that note for me to find on her floor. She
wouldn't be
careless enough to just leave it. She planned this from the very
beginning.'
He walked in slowly, as Kyle waited just outside the door. Lucky
had lain
down the law on the way over. He wasn't supposed to make a sound
or a move
without him. Lucky would signal him when needed.
Lucky's rapidly beating heart ceased to beat even at it's normal
pace, when
Elizabeth came into view. He was sure anyone in the room could
feel the fear
courseing through his veins, as he saw her tied to a chair with
Sam holding a
gun to her head. They were talking, but he couldn't make out
their words.
Elizabeth spotted him first. Her eyes locked with his as he crept
further
into the room. He thanked God, that she was still ok. He also
thanked God
that all he saw in her eyes was relief, not anger at him for
putting them in
this situation, or even fear of the gun being held at her head.
He mouthed
the words 'I love you,' as he stared into her eyes from across
the room,
hoping she wouldn't hate him even more for what he was about to
do. For what
he knew he would have to do.
Liz didn't say it back, but bit her lip when it began to tremble
at his
words. 'God what is he going to do?' She thought. 'Lucky please
don't....she
just wants to kill me....please just turn around and leave.' She
listened as
he cleared his throat and Sam whirled around, facing Lucky. Her
gun now
trained on him.
"Hello Sam," he said, shoving his hands down into his
coat pockets.
"Lucky," Sam said, smiling. "I knew you'd
come."
"Thank you for leaving that note for me Sam," Lucky
said softly. "I would
have never have known why you were doing all of this if it hadn't
been for
that note," Lucky took a deep breath as he continued, his
next words already
creating a nasty taste in his mouth. "I'm really sorry for
kicking you
out...Sam why didn't you just tell me that you wanted to
get even with
Elizabeth?...I could have helped you."
Liz gasped involuntarily as her heart jumped into her throat.
'What is he
saying?' She thought. 'Wh...what's going on here?...He's lieing
Liz, he's
lieing...he's just trying to rope her in...to catch her off
guard...that's
gotta be what he's doing...no matter what's happened, he still
loves
you...this is his plan...Lucky's always got a plan right?...Oh
God, what is
he doing?'
All was quiet for a long moment, but Liz was sure she could
literally HEAR
Sam smile. It made her skin crawl.
"Really Lucky?" Sam finally asked, sweetly. But then
something snapped and
just as quickly as her voice sang with sweetness, it changed into
something
else, something not at all sweet. "You're lieing to me
Lucky...you were never
planning on leaving this tramp!" She yelled, walking back
over to Liz, and
shaking the gun in her face. Liz jumped a little, taken aback by
Sam's sudden
gear shift.
"How can you stand it Lucky!?" Sam yelled. Her gun
getting dangerously close
to Liz's skull. "She's a lieing, manipulative
little....little slut!"
Lucky's jaw tightened on it's own as the gun got closer and
closer to
Elizabeth's head. He bit his lip and noticed that Elizabeth was
doing the
same. He wanted to scream, he wanted to kill this woman. He
couldn't do
either of those things without risking Elizabeths' life in the
process
though.
He wanted to kick himself for not stopping long enough to steal a
gun from
his father's safe at the club. When the phone at the gallery went
dead, his
first instinct had been to get to Elizabeth, he hadn't thought
clearly enough
to get any kind of protection from his dad. Now he would have to
play this
Sam's way.
"I can't!" Lucky said, interrupting Sam mid-tirade.
"You can't what?" Sam said, her gun dropping slightly
in her hand, falling
away from Elizabeth's head.
Lucky took a deep breath and glanced quickly at Elizabeth,
looking away just
as quickly as he said his next words. "I can't...stand
to...to be with her
anymore...why, do you think I came here Sam? I want to be with
you."
Liz bit down harder still upon her lip, to fight to the onset of
tears. 'He
couldn't mean that,' she repeated to herself. 'He can't...'
Sam laughed lightly and grinned. "Are you serious?" She
asked, taking two
steps towards him, away from Liz.
"Dead serious," he said flattly, glaring at her.
Sam didn't seem to notice the way he looked at her. A look that
most
assuredly should have killed her dead on the spot. She continued,
"I don't
believe you Lucky," she said, returning to her place next to
Liz. She pressed
the gun to Liz's temple. "I know you still love her! Even
after what she did!
Even after she screwed my brother and then tryed to say he raped
her!"
Lucky closed his eyes. 'She's crazy,' he thought. 'Don't let her
get to you,'
He opened his eyes and looked up at Elizabeth, who for all her
fighting, was
beginning to tear up. 'Don't let her get to you either
baby...please, please,
don't buy a word of this crap I'm saying.'
Lucky tuned back in as Sam continued to rant and rave. "You
don't believe it
do you Lucky? My brother would never, ever hurt someone like
that...you
believe she's lieing right? That she just said that because she
didn't want
the entire world to know what a slut she was...sleeping with some
guy in the
park!"
Lucky's fists clenched involuntarily in his pockets as he watched
Liz's face
contort in agony.
"Yeah!" Lucky spat out, saying anything to get Sam to
shut up. He couldn't
subject Elizabeth to anymore of her mindless babble.
"Yeah...I believe that."
Liz looked down, so he wouldn't see her tears. Not knowing that
it was too
late. 'You know damn well he's bluffing...stop crying!' She
screamed to
herself internally.
"You believe what Lucky?" Sam asked, not letting him
off the hook.
Both Lucky and Liz knew what Sam wanted, she wanted to hear him
say it. All
of it. She wanted him to say the words that he couldn't fathom
saying. Words
that would drive a stake right through Liz's heart.
"I believe," he began slowly, swallowing around the
hard lump in his throat.
"I believe that...that - that she lied."
"Lied about WHAT Lucky?" Sam asked, slowly drawing her
gun back to Liz's
temple.
Liz looked up and sniffed back her tears, determined to get
through this
without Sam breaking her down anymore. She would not let one more
person in
the Baker family turn her inside out. She nodded ever so slightly
at Lucky.
'Say it Lucky,' she thought. 'Just say what she wants you to
say...it's ok.'
Lucky blinked back his own threatening tears as he read her mind.
'How do
I...' Lucky's thought fizzled as he fought to say what it was he
needed to
say. 'There just words,' He thought. 'They don't mean
anything...forgive me
Elizabeth.'
He cleared his throat. "I believe that she lied
about...about Tom raping her.
That it never happened. She just...she just didn't want people to
know what a
...a tramp she was," He swallowed hard then, and bit down
just as hard upon
his lip.
Sam sighed as she dropped her hand, her gun hanging loosely by
her side. "You
do mean it," she smiled. "You really do wanna be with
me?"
"Yes," Lucky sighed. "I do...but...but you have to
do something for me first.
You have to let Liz go."
"What!" Sam yelled, her gun rising again. "I
thought - "
"I do Sam! I do! I just...I just want a clean slate you
know? If you kill
Elizabeth...you'll go to jail and then we'll never get to be
together!" Lucky
yelled, wanting to gag on ever single word. "So
please...Sam...just untie her
and then we'll walk out of here together. Just me and you."
Sam stood silently, debating with herself. After long moments she
finally
made a decision.
Lucky watched as she knealt to untie Elizabeth, and silently said
a prayer as
he watched Elizabeth rub her rope burnt wrists.
"Now come over here Sam," Lucky gently instructed. He
held out his hand as
Sam made her way over to him. Once she was within his reach, she
placed the
gun in his hands. She smiled up at him, waiting for him to take
her in his
strong arms. Her smile faded as the gun she had just held, was
aimed straight
at her heart. He looked right through her.
"Baby...you ok?" He asked, craning his neck to look
around her.
"Yeah," Liz said shakily, as she walked towards him,
coming to stand by his
side.
Sam looked from Lucky to Liz and then back again. "Wh...what
is going
on?...Lucky I thought...I thought you didn't care about her...I
thought you
loved me."
Lucky smiled and slowly began to crumble, still holding the gun
firmly
between his two hands. "You thought I what?" He
laughed. "Oh man...Sam...I
was lieing. I'm not insane."
Sam stood stunned as Lucky turned his head towards the door.
"Kyle man! Come
in here please."
Kyle walked in slowly, taking out his cell phone. "You want
me to make that
call now? He asked.
"Yeah man...PCPD...um...hey Sam, while we're waiting could
you please tell my
wife what REALLY happened after the party that night?"
Liz looked at Lucky, her eyes widening as big as saucers.
"Lucky...I don't.."
Lucky turned to her, looking into her eyes. "Elizabeth, you
gotta hear
this...Sam," he added, turning back to face a scared Sam.
"Go ahead...tell
her."
"Tell her what Lucky?" Sam asked flippantly. "She
already knows what - "
"I already have proof Sam! Just tell her!" Lucky
shouted, losing his cool. "I
wanna hear the words come out of your mouth...tell her Sam. Tell
her what
REALLY happened that night."
Sam rolled her eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about
Lucky."
Liz looked from Lucky to Sam, not knowing what to think.
"Lucky..what's going
on?" she asked confused.
Lucky reached in his pocket, producing a tape recorder. He looked
at Sam.
"I'll play it Sam...one more chance to say it
yourself."
Sam stood there, not a word escaping her lips.
Lucky clicked play on his recorder. "Wait!" Sam
shouted. Lucky pressed the
stop button.
"Lucky and I....we didn't....we didn't have sex. We didn't
do it that
night...and we never have."
Elizabeth sighed. "Wha...I don't understand."
"Tell her the rest Sam." Lucky ordered.
"After you left," Sam began slowly. "After you
went to the hospital with
Kyle. I came back to the club...Nobody was there, except Lucky
that is..and
his dad, but his dad was in his office. Asleep I think...Lucky
was just
sitting there...looking...lonely, sad. He was drinking, pretty
out of
it...so, I decided to make him even more out of it..." Her
voice trailed off,
looking up into Liz's eyes.
Liz glared at her. "What did you do Sam?" Liz asked
flattly. She couldn't
believe what she was hearing. After all of this time, Sam and
Lucky hadn't
slept together!
Sam sighed loudly. "I made him another drink...but this
time...I put
something in it...something that would knock him out."
"You drugged him!" Liz yelled. Lucky extended one arm,
keeping her away from
Sam.
"And then," Sam continued. "We went
upstairs...but...I didn't count on Lucky
falling asleep. He was completely out of it. He couldn't
do.....anything."
"Yeah," Lucky added, smileing slightly. "Sam
didn't count on the fact that
the um...date rape drug, doesn't work on guys...So, in the
morning when I
woke up naked, you know...I just believed what she said...I just
believed her
when she said we slept together....when that's all we really did,
wasn't it
Sam?...SLEEP."
Sam looked away, not saying anything.
Liz removed Lucky's hand from her stomach, where it had been
placed to hold
her back from attacking Sam. She walked forward, slowly, staring
straight
ahead. As Sam looked up finally meeting her eyes, Liz's hand flew
in the
direction of her face, burning every inch of the left side with a
single,
mindblowing swipe.
Sam winced, as her hand immediately went up to touch her cheek,
not believing
that any one slap could sear her skin so badly. She suddenly,
raised her
hand. Liz blocked it easily, grasping her wrist tightly in her
hand, and
squeezing even tighter still as she spoke, in an eerily calm
voice. "I
wouldn't do that."
After a long moment Liz let her go, taking a deep breath while
taking a
cautious step backwards. "Do you have any idea what I could
do to you right
now Sam?...Do you?....No, I don't think you do. I don't think you
have any
idea about anything or anybody. You are completely out of your
mind aren't
you?...I mean I almost feel sorry for you...ALMOST," Liz
added, as her hand
yet again smacked hard against Sam's flesh. This time, bruising
the other
side.
When she pulled back this time, her voice was not calm, her voice
was filled
with a hatred beyond imagination. "I hate you! I hope to
God, you rot in
prison just like your miserable excuse for a brother will, if
there is any
justice in this world!...You have the nerve to tell me that what
happened was
not rape! Oh my Gosh....you really are a piece of work you know
that! You're
brother is a sick pervert and apparently that trait was passed
down to
you!....How could you drug him!? How could you just sit back and
watch as
Lucky and I tore each other apart for weeks!?...You are...I don't
know what
you are Sam...I only know that you are going to go to jail.
You're going to
go to jail, and I'm going to sleep a whole lot better....Sam, I
hope you toss
and turn every night in your jail cell." Liz paused then as
she walked back
up to Sam, wispering the following in her ear. "I hope you
toss and turn and
think about what's going on across the hall from your old
apartment...in my
room...in my bed. Think about me, having what you wanted to have
so
badly...every-single-night, for the REST of MY life....Yeah
Sam...I hope you
have sweet dreams. I know I will."
Chapter 69 B
Liz walked in first, her hand traveling haphazardly along the
wall, searching
for the light switch. She closed her eyes, when she found it, and
then opened
them again slowly to adjust to the light. A split second later
she felt
Lucky's hands on her shoulders, helping her off with her coat.
She looked
backwards over her shoulder, smileing weakly, and turning her
eyes to the
floor almost immediately. "Thank you," she wispered.
Lucky took her coat, smileing awkwardly as well. "You're
welcom," he replyed
softly as he placed the coat on the rack next to the door. He
turned back to
Elizabeth who was slowly making her way over to the couch.
She looked tired. Completely and utterly worn out. Lucky took a
deep breath
and closed his eyes knowing that it wasn't simply physical
fatigue, but
mental fatigue as well. The stress of being held at gunpoint, the
stress of
having to rehash and rewrite the worst night of her life, and the
stress of
him having lied to her. A man that hadn't truely been unfaithful,
but
unfaithful for a long enough period in her mind to cause doubt.
Doubt in
everything that their relationship had been built on. Doubt in
the knowledge
that they would always be honest with one another. That knowledge
and trust
had been shaken down to their very core, but beyond repair? He'd
been
silently praying it wouldn't be since he found out.
He broke the silence first, walking over to where she sat, but
not sitting
himself. "Can I get you...can I get you some tea...or
something?"
She knew he was trying. She knew that she loved this man more
than anything
in the world, and that only a couple of hours ago, she'd found
out that he
had NOT been unfaithful to her. 'Not unfaithful,' those words
rang so true
and so beautifully in her ears. Words, that she had wanted
someone to shout
from the rooftops weeks ago. Words that, she wanted to hear as
she was waken
from this stupid, twisted nightmare. But those words had never
come...until
that night.
Every muscle in her body ached. From what, she wasn't sure.
Whether it was
from being tied to a chair for hours, or from standing in police
station for
even longer, or from the premature aging that had taken place
over the course
of the weeks prior, she didn't know. She only knew that every
fiber of her
being wanted to reach out to him, to hold him and to kiss him
like their was
truely no tomorrow and like they were the only two people left on
the planet.
But how was that possible? Was that even right? After what they'd
just gone
through? After he lied? After he did the one thing he said he
would never,
ever do?
Lucky watched her as she rubbed her wrists, and stretched her
legs, and
noticed how those simple movements caused her pain. Again he
offered his
assistance. Some tiny gesture of the magintude of his guilt.
"Do you want me
to run you a bath...a hot bath - it might...help..."
Again Liz shook her head. "No...thank you, Lucky."
He nodded slightly and turned to walk away. He'd go downstairs
and make
himself useful with some mindless task like taking out the trash.
'She
doesn't want to talk to you..she doesn't even want to be in the
same room
with you...and why should she?! Just leave her alone.'
"Wait...Lucky," she said, reaching out and grasping his
wrist, "Sit with
me...please."
Luckys' breath caught in his throat as every other physical
movement came to
a screaching halt. He's forgotton what it felt like to feel her
skin touch
his. The shear shock of her hand on his wrist sent an
electrifying tingle up
his arm. He stood there for a moment, not really looking at her,
suddenly
entranced by the carpet.
Liz moved her hand down from his wrist to his hand, twisting her
fingers into
his. "Please," she said again.
He looked at her then as he sat, catching her eyes in his for the
first time
since the studio. She was beginning to tear up, and from the
familiar sting
behind his own, he could tell it wouldn't be long before he was
too.
They both looked down at their intertwined hands. They busyed
themselves by
silently tangling and retangling their fingers. It became a
process much more
interesting than the issue at hand.
Liz's hand suddenly stilled for a moment, only to squeeze Lucky's
seconds
later. He looked up slightly at her sudden gesture, seeing just
enough of her
face to see that her bottom lip had begun to tremble something
awful. He
placed a finger under her chin and gently guided her head up to
meet his.
"I'm sorry," they both said at once, each astonished
that the other would say
it.
Lucky shook his head as his mouth dropped open. "What could
you possibly have
to be sorry for?" Lucky asked. The tears that had
threatened, falling now as
he cupped her face in his hands.
For beleiving that you could do that to me...Lucky, I'm so
sorry," she
wailed, her voice struggling through her sobs.
His thumbs wiped continuously at the tears that cascaded down her
cheeks, her
face still held firmly in his hands. "How could you
know?" He asked,
sniffling. "How could you know that? Huh? I TOLD you we
slept together...why
wouldn't you believe it?...Listen to me Elizabeth, the only
person who has
anything to feel sorry about here is me."
Liz shook her head now, as she placed her hands on top of his,
pulling them
down into her lap. "For what? What did you do Lucky?...You
were a victim in
this. Sam drugged you...and you didn't do anything
wrong...Nothing!"
Lucky pulled his hands away from hers and sighed. "No,
Elizabeth...I did
everything wrong. Starting with that night...your birthday - God,
of all
days..."
Elizabeth interrupted, placing a finger to his lips. "Lucky,
do you wanna
know what I thought about that night when I was lieing in bed
without
you?...I thought about how Lucky I was to have a husband like
you...A husband
that spent money we didn't have to throw a huge bash for me. A
husband that
talked to a father that he wasn't too crazy about at the time,
just so that I
would have my favorite singer perform at my party. AND..."
Liz added, as
Lucky tried to interrupt. " A husband," she smiled
through her tears. "A
husband that would punch some guy out just because he payed a
little too much
attention to me."
Lucky sighed. "I was an idiot."
"Hey!" Liz said, running her hand up his cheek and
pushing a stray hair off
his forehead. "You're MY idiot."
Lucky grasped the same hand in his and held it as he brought it
down.
"Elizabeth, don't let me off the hook this easily, ok?...I
don't deserve it,"
he added, searching her eyes for the hurt he knew was there.
Elizabeth sat for a moment, not knowing what to say. Not knowing
how to say
it without widening the gap that stood between them.
"Lucky," she began
slowly. "I'm not gonna lie to you...what you did..."
Her voice trailed off.
She had no desire to discuss this. The thought of it scared her.
Was this
conversation going to end with one of them leaving again?
"I lied," Lucky finished, knowing that was what
Elizabeth was driving at.
"That's what I did Elizabeth...I lied to you. Elizabeth I
lied to you for
weeks because I was scared out of my mind. That's NOT an
excuse...I'm just
telling you how I felt...Baby, I knew I was hurting you. I was
pushing you
away all the time and I could literally SEE the pain and the
confusion in
your eyes all the time. And when you thought it was something
that you had
done...Elizabeth, it tore me up inside...but I - I...God, I was
just so
scared that I was gonna lose you..."
Liz leaned forwards, taking Lucky by surprise as she kissed his
forehead.
"I'm right here," she wispered. "You're not gonna
lose me."
"But don't you see Elizabeth, I almost did! I lost you
then...the look on
your face...and I almost lost you tonight," Lucky added, his
voice cracking
under the strain of emotion. He sighed as he leaned his head
against hers,
their foreheads touching. They sat their for a long moment, not
moving an
inch. Suddenly Lucky spoke again.
"You know that was all an act right...tonight? Baby, you
know I didn't mean
any of that stuff right?"
Liz pulled her head away and took a deep breath, closing her
eyes. "I know,"
she said barely audibly. "You did what you had to do in
there...it's ok
Lucky. I knew that you didn't mean it...I mean, it still hurt a
little to
hear...but I knew. Deep down, I knew."
Lucky sat quietly and then as if struck by an afterthought, he
reached into
his pocket, producing the cassette recorder. "It's not
admissable in court,
but...I can still play it for you - "
Liz surprised Lucky once again, by this time silencing him with a
kiss. It
happened so fast, he had barely enough time to respond, but he
did, as her
hand came up to rest on either side of his face. She pressed her
lips to his
with an intensity that had long been missed. Yet, the kiss ended
softly as
she pulled away. "I don't need to hear it," she
wispered, still inches away
from his lips.
"Elizab - "
"I don't need to hear it...Lucky I believe you."
Lucky shook his head, truly amazed. He ran the side of his hand
down the
soft, damp skin of her cheek "How can you? Elizabeth how can
you possibly
believe anything I say to you anymore?"
Elizabeth took his hand in hers and brought it to her lips,
placing butterfly
kisses on each knuckle. "Because I love you," she said,
pressing that same
hand to her face yet again. Leaning her head into it. "Call
me crazy...but I
believe you. I believed you when you said that it only happened
once with
Sam, and I believe you now when you tell me it never happened at
all...God
help me Lucky, I just love you so much."
She reached out, wiping a tear from his face not seconds before
his lips came
crashing down on hers and his arms found their way around her
waist. This
time the kiss never lost the intensity that it began with. It
simply grew as
they moved closer and closer, letting nature take it's course.
'No more words
tonight,' blared through both of their heads as they continued to
kiss, their
bodies molding together.
Lucky's hands were in her hair now, as she leaned backwards
against the
couch, him lieing on top of her. Her hand searched for his
bottons, as he
began to work dilegently upon her neck, sending shivers
throughout her entire
body. He stopped suddenly as he felt her warm hands come into
contact with
the skin underneith his shirt. "Elizabeth," he said
panting, through the
quick incoming kisses on his face. "Elizabeth...baby, let's
not do this here."
"Huh?" Elizabeth asked, pulling away slightly, her lips
pink and swollen.
"Oh...ok...the bedroom, let's go,"
"No, no..." Lucky said, as she pulled him up to his
feet. "No...baby, I wanna
take you somewhere...away from here. Somewhere beautiful."
Liz smiled widely, shaking her head. "Lucky, I really don't
think I can wait
anymore," she said, kissing him hard.
Lucky chuckled and pulled back. "Don't worry," he said,
holding her hands.
"We won't have to wait long. I'll call Prince Nikky and have
him fire up his
family's jet...we can be there tonight."
"Lucky what are you talking about...where?...I mean, it's
almost midnight - "
"Ssh," Lucky said, placing a finger to her lips.
"The Prince owes us one
anyways...it's the least he can do...pack your stuff
Elizabeth...we're goin'
on a little trip."
"Lucky?" Liz laughed, as she watched him pick up the
phone and begin dialing.
"Where are we going? I mean...what do I pack?"
Lucky smiled and licked his lips. "Think fun, sun, hot, and
beach...baby
we're goin' on the Honeymoon we never had."
Chapter 70
"Baby?" Lucky mumbled, trying to speak around
Elizabeth's constant slew of
kisses upon his neck and face. "Baby," he said again,
fumbling with the key
and the doorknob behind his back. "As much as I'm enjoying
this...you gotta
let me open the door."
Liz pulled away reluctantly, biting her swollen, pink lips.
"Oh...ok," she
panted. "Hurry."
It had been a long flight and what seemed an equally long cab
ride to Santa
Maria Bay. A secluded beach, where the only home for miles was
Nikolas
Cassidines' Villa. It sat right off the eastern coast of Mexico
all by itself.
Lucky chuckled and turned to face the door, searching for the
right key.
There were so many. "Ugh...Nikolas said the gold
one...there's like 5 gold
ones." He continued to fumble with the keys as Liz's arms
wrapped around his
waist from behind and her warm lips pressed against the light
material
covering his back. Lucky jiggled the door knob frantically.
"Voila!" He said
as the door finally swung upon.
He turned around quickly, scooping Liz up in his strong arms, as
not to waste
a moment.
"Eeeh! Lucky what are you doing?!" She laughed,
wrapping her arms around his
neck.
"I'm carrying my wife over the threshold...what's it look
like I'm doing?"
Elizabeth laughed out loud. "Lucky...you already did that
and besides, you do
realize how huge this place is right? You might be carrying me
for quite
awhile if you plan on tossing me on some bed somewhere!"
"Jeez woman, is that all you think about?" Lucky
laughed, teasing. "Who said
I was headed for a bedroom...it's morning for goodness sake! I've
gotta go
get my sun."
"Oh..." Liz said, swinging her legs to and fro in his
arms as he moved
further into the gigantic home. He looked around in awe. "Is
that all I think
about? Oh...who was all over WHO in that jet...and WHO had to be
reminded
that we were NOT alone in that cab? Huh?"
Lucky stopped in his tracks, grinning from ear to ear. "You
got me."
"That's right," Liz said, smileing seductively. "I
got you."
She leaned in then, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and
kissing him
with more fervor than before, her hands winding themselves
through his hair
as he turned around and around. Liz opened her eyes briefly and
gasped at
what she saw.
Lucky pulled back a bit. "What? What's wrong?"
"Oh my God," Elizabeth sighed, gesturing to Lucky to
put her down. He did as
she bid him and watched her in silence as she walked towards a
huge sliding
glass door. It served as a wall to the family room that they had
unwittingly
traveled into. It also served as a window to the the most
beautiful sight
that either one of them had ever seen. White sand, so white it
was nearly
blinding as it caught the light. The sand seemed to go on for
miles on either
side of them, only interrupted by two huge rock formations on
either side.
And in front of them them, the bluest water they'd ever
encountered. The
morning sun bounced off the ripples of water, causing it to
sparkle in the
distance.
"Lucky are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Liz asked as
her body gravitating
towards the window. She slid her hand into the door handle and
tryed with all
her strength to push the door open. Lucky moved in front of her,
opening it
with ease.
"Yeah," Lucky breathed as he followed her out on to the
deck that stepped
right out onto the beach. A beach that was all their own for an
entire week.
He wrapped his arms around her from behind, clasping his hands at
her
stomach. He listened to the sound of her breathing against him
and the waves
lapping softly against the shore that was only a few yards away.
Perfection.
"It's pretty incredible," he sighed, leaning down to
nuzzle her neck.
"Pretty incredible?" Liz asked in astonishment.
"Is that all you have to
say?...Lucky if I had to describe what I thought heaven looked
like...this
would be it....ugh..."
Lucky turned her around in his arms so that she was now facing
him. "If I had
to describe what heaven looked like," he begun, smoothing
her windblown hair
out of her face. "This would be it," he finished
touching her cheek. He
stared deep into her eyes, reveling in her beauty and thanking
God that he
hadn't lost her for good.
Elizabeth sighed, touched by how romantic he was. 'God I missed
this,' she
thought, wrapping her arms around his waist and placing her head
against his
firm chest. She listened to his slow, melodic heartbeat as they
stood for a
moment just taking in their surroundings, the cool breeze blowing
against
them, the sun shining down. Everything from the smell of the
salty sea air,
to the birds chirping told them that they were in paradise. It
was hard to
believe that only hours ago they had been in freezing, cold New
York. They
both wanted to freeze the moment in time. A moment of complete
happiness and
peace. No art academy, no Kelly's, no PCU, no Kyle, and no Sam
pulling them
apart. Nothing getting in the way of what was most important:
them.
They had went completely AWOL. Calling Nikolas, Laura and Bobbie
all in the
middle of the night to inform them of their plans. The rest of
the world
would simply have to wait. They would simply have to get used to
the idea of
coming second. That's the way it would be for the rest of their
lives.
She pulled away slightly, and stood on tip-toes, capturing his
lips with
hers, in a soft, slow, languid kiss. When she could no longer
keep her
balance, she let go of his face and backed away. Yet, she
couldn't go far.
Lucky's arms snaked quickly around her waist, bringing her back
to him. He
smiled and bent his knees slightly, his forehead resting on hers.
Elizabeth smiled. "What?" She asked. "You want me
to stay here
forever?...I've got a beach to get to Mister...I mean look at
that
water...it's calling my name," she added, teasingly pulling
away from him.
He held tight to her hand. "I'm callin' your name,"
Lucky smiled.
Liz licked her lips and returned to him, wrapping one arm around
his waist
and using the other to point at the magnificent ocean that stood
before them.
She looked up at him. "Lucky...isn't that the bluest water
you've ever seen?"
Lucky took a deep breath and captured her face in his hands. He
looked deep
into her eyes, never looking anywhere else. "The
bluest."
Liz wanted him just as badly as he wanted her. It seemed an
eternity since
the last time they had made love, but she had to torture him just
a bit
first. "Lucky, baby...we're in paradise here...you mean to
tell me that all
you wanna do with our time here is stay inside and make mad,
wild, passionate
love?!"
Lucky simply raised his eyebrows. Liz bit her lip. "That
sounds pretty damn
good to me too...ugh, what's a girl to do? Go play on the beach?
Make love to
husband?, Go play on the beach? Make love to husband?" She
asked, jokingly
moving her hands up and down like scales. The look on his face
was priceless.
Lucky smiled in amusement as she finally came to a decision. Liz
sauntered
over to him, pressing her body against his and standing on her
tip-toes once
again. She wispered in his ear, her breath quickening his pulse.
"You know
Lucky?" She began. "We've got this entire beach to
ourselves...and um...we
don't have to build sand castles or anything...there are OTHER
fun things we
can - "
Lucky pulled away and nodded, interrupting her. "I'm gonna
go put on my
trunks."
~~~~~~~~~~
"What took you so long slowpoke?" Liz giggled, as Lucky
came walking down the
white sand bank. He was the most beautiful man she'd ever seen
and he was
hers. Only hers. His blue and white trunks fitting him snuggly
about the
hips, his broad chest glistening in the sunlight, shiny with
sunblock.
Lucky looked down at her and smiled at her. She looked like some
gorgeous
mermaid fantasy, splashing around in the water. Water that
matched her deep
blue eyes. "I'm hurt Elizabeth," he chided jokingly.
"How could you just get
into this vast ocean of ours without me...when I have my special
trunks on
and everything? I mean...I even had to put my own sunblock
on." Lucky
fininshed looking down at the Hawaiian print trunks that
Elizabeth had forced
him buy a few months back.
"Ooh, poor baby?" Liz said in her best mothering voice.
"Why don't you get in
here with me, so I can try and make it up to you...and maybe see
what we can
do about those trunks," she added, mumbling under her
breath.
Lucky's eyes widened at her bold inuendo. "Well, well,
well....look who's
frisky now..."
Liz bit her lip and curled her finger in his direction, beckoning
him into
the water. "You ain't seen nuthin' yet handsome...get in
here."
Lucky walked in then, the cool water sending shivers up his
spine. "Aren't
you cold?" He asked, moving closer to Liz, who was in up to
her neck.
"Yeah," she wispered seductively. "Why don't you
come over here and keep me
warm, huh?"
Nothing could have been further from the truth. The water was
wonderfully
warm, but Liz wanted him near her. Wanted to hold him in her arms
and never
let go.
Lucky moved closer to her, wanting the same thing. He wrapped his
arms around
her bare waist and bent his legs so he was at her level. She
quickly wrapped
her arms around his neck and leaned her head against his
shoulder. "This is
so nice," she sighed as they floated their together.
"Yeah it is," Lucky said, as he ran his hand over her
wet hair and down her
back, resting beneath her bikini top strap. "Why didn't we
take Nikolas up on
his offer to come here when we got married?"
Liz pulled away slightly to look at his face. "Because your
parents and my
grandmother were paying for the wedding and the reception and you
didn't want
anyone else helping us...especially not Nikolas. You guys were
just beginning
to be cool with each other. I mean he was your bestman and all,
but you still
weren't too comfortable with him giving us expenisve gifts."
Lucky sighed. "Oh...thanks for reminding me," he
laughed. He was amazed by
how well she knew him sometimes.
"Anytime," Liz giggled as she narrowed the space
between them once again. Her
lips hovered just centimeters away from his. "I love you
anyways
though...regardless of your fierce Spencer pride."
"Kiss me, Spencer." He breathed, right before she
completely closed in the
space between them. The sound of her own name exciting her.
Lucky pulled her close, their wet bodies pressing against each
other
underwater. The kiss deepened as Liz wrapped her legs around his
waist,
bringing them even closer. She shivered as she felt Lucky's hand
brush
against her back, beginning to untie the knot that held her
bikini top in
place. She giggled against his lips as he pulled it off, throwing
it to the
sand in one fluid movement. They both moaned as his flesh came
into contact
with hers, the water rushing between them.
Liz's hands moved down Lucky's finely toned back as the kiss
continued,
deepening still as their bodies turned with the current of the
water. Her
fingertips curled around his waistband, and Lucky straightened
his legs to
aid her in her task of pulling them completely off. He smiled at
her as she
threw them to the sand, joining them with her top.
Lucky's hand roamed up her thighs and her knees unlocked from
around his
waist. She sighed as she felt him tug at her bottoms. Liz stepped
out of them
quickly and threw them to the sand herself. Lucky laughed at her
aim. A whole
two feet away from the other discarded pieces of clothing.
"Ssh," Liz said, coming back to him and rewrapping her
arms around his neck
and legs around his waist. "You didn't marry me for my aim
did you?"
"No," Lucky shook his head. "Not at all," he
added, once again capturing her
lips with his. The kiss quickly built into something that neither
one of them
could have controlled or stopped even if they had wanted to and
it's passion
rapidly consumed them as Lucky grasped her thighs with his eager
hands, their
bodies finally becoming one.
Liz threw her head back in ecstasy as Lucky moved inside of her.
It didn't
take long until they were both brought over the edge of pleasure,
time and
time again.
~~~~~~~~~~
Lucky stared out at the ocean as the sun began to set in front of
him. The
sky turned peach and gold before his very eyes. Her hair tickled
the skin on
his chest and under his chin as the evening breeze swept it over
him, this
way and that.
"Baby," he said, running his fingers through her damp
hair contiuously.
"Baby?" He looked down at her then, realizing that his
words had fallen on
deaf ears. Her small face hidden by her hair.
"I love you," he wispered not wanting to wake her
up. She looked so
beautiful and so peaceful that he couldn't bare to disturb her.
He knew that
this was probably the best sleep she had gotton in weeks and he
didn't want
to ruin that. As he stared out on to the horizon he knew that
he'd do
anything for this woman. Anything for their love.
He shifted his weight under her, and tightened his arms around
her, bringing
her further on to his chest. Sleep would come quickly for him
that night too,
and there would be more sunsets for them to share. Plenty more.
