Britney laid her head on
the pillow, already wet with fallen tears.
Pictures of him littered
the floor, clutching his new girlfriend to his side and flashing his
million-dollar smile to the cameras- the smile she thought he saved especially
for her. His girlfriend smiled too, her arm protectivly around his waist. Her
name still appeared in the papers when he was mentioned, but no more Britney
Spears-Timberlake, like before, now just Britney Spears.
She looked at the wedding
pictures, her white dress holding a tint of yellow. She was so happy. How could
he? How could he leave her.
"Britney?" he
said softly, his hand enveloped in Kara's. Britney let the glass she was holding
shatter on the floor. "Britney, it's over." Kara smiled evilly and
kissed Justin's cheek. Britney wanted to smack both of them. "Justin,
why?" she asked, her heart in her throat. He shrugged. "We ran out of
love." "So why is she here?" Britney snapped, then stepped
forward and her hand made hard contact to Justin's. He fell back, his hand
falling from Kara's to graze his cheek, before his eyes hardened. "Bitch."
Kara spat, her face bright red.
Justin had really left. He was really gone.
Natalie shook her mother's
shoulders, crying. Britney was crying for their father again. "Mommy,
please. Mommy!" Natalie's cried echoed through the house, rushing into
Robert's room, who sat awake, crying in confusion. He began to cry for his daddy.
Britney sobbed in her daughter's arm.
Britney sat in her living,
cupping her coffee in her hand and listening to her children breathing softly on
the couch, their thumbs in their mouth. She almost cried at the similarity
between Robert and Justin. The unruly curly hair and bright blue eyes made her
sick sometimes. "Justin? Come home." She whispered. "Please come
home." Her pleas and cries fell short as the door to the house opened and
Lance walked in, and wrapped his arms around Britney and let her cry.
