Marla Marvals!

I had the opportunity to meet Marla Sokoloff, who plays Maggie the self-assured; girl next door in Whatever It Takes. This 19-year-old from San Francisco is very down to earth and not the least bit snotty about her newly found success as Lucy on ABC's "The Practice" and her starring role in Whatever It Takes.

After you all have seen the movie, I'm sure you'll be dying to know all about Marla. All the guys in the movie want her. And since College Fest is a great source for all the information I'm going to put an end to your curiosity. You're welcome. Mixing Business with Pleasure

Marla was really excited about working on Whatever It Takes with her friend of a couple of years, Shane West of Once and Again, who plays Ryan. She has had the opportunity to work with some major "hotties" in her day. She is only 19 and has already laid one on Dylan McDermott on "The Practice". What woman would not kill for her job?

Speaking of smooching Marla really enjoyed working with co-star James Franco (Chris) of "Freaks and Geeks" in Whatever It Takes, because their on-screen courtship wasn"t the only one going on between them. Marla and James have been dating since they filmed Whatever It Takes.

Summer Camp for Stars Working on this movie was like, 'summer camp" for Marla after working on "The Practice" throughout the season. You can understand that, she is the youngest cast member. She does enjoy working with people who have been in the business a while because they give her tips on her acting, but working on the movie was quite different for her because all of her co-stars are her age. You can have too much of a good thing. She says, "I don"t think I could do that teen thing all year round, there is too much drama it's like high school, and on The Practice we don"t have that at all."

The next Jennifer Love? Not only can Marla act, but she is also a music talent. Where do these people come from? Well, this multi-talented one went to Los Angeles County High School of the Arts where she studied theater and music. She has been playing guitar for 8 years. I know you are wondering if she has any plans of being the next Jennifer Lopez or Jennifer Love Hewitt. Please, NO. Marla has producers asking if she"d like to do the whole music thing, but "I"m not feeling that." she responded to the actor gone singer trend. "My music is very special to me and I don't want to sell it out to anybody, it is kinda cool to have something that is mine." I think we can all "feel" that.

Now you're wondering where you can get more Marla, right? She just finished a movie where she"ll be playing a character far different from the ones in her past, called Sugar and Spice (word has it she is the Spice). You can also check her out on Sunday's on ABC at 10pm on "The Practice."
