The Island Chapter 1

This story was originated from three characters who were all involved in a triangle love relationship. Sunny was from a rich family. (Chan's) and Charmaine was from a middle class family. They were destined to be married when they reached their "marriage age". However, Sunny fell in love with Ada, a local farmer's daughter and Charmaine committed sucide because she couldn't bear the shame. Ada was murdered by the Chan's (not Sunny of course) because of this. Sunny hid himself from the rest of the world secretly. The Chan's thought the Wong's (Charmaine) killed Sunny by mistake and the Wongs do hold Sunny responsible. As the misunderstanding became greater, the violence increased too.
Ten years later, a pregnant woman ran with her baby daughter from the men.
Little Vivian: WAH WAH!!!
Maggie S: Hush! We must hurry Vivian! If they catches up to us, we will be in trouble!
They ran through the forest when Maggie's stomach started to hurt!
Maggie: Oh gosh! Why now! Behave child! (refering to the child in the stomach)
Suddenly, she sees an old man with a little girl with him.
Maggie: Oh kindly sir, please! Help me!
8 Tong Madam! Please! Stand up! What do you want me to do?
Maggie: Oh kind sir! Please, take my baby girl and hide her until the men are gone!
8 Tong: What about you?
Maggie: I can survive. The baby is more important……(ouch)!
8Tong: Here, I can handle this…..
Maggie: NO! I am injured already! Please save Vivian! My girl!
In the distance, they hear men shouting.
Maggie: Please!!!!!
8 Tong: Alright! Cherie let's go! You take care Mrs.
Maggie: Good Luck Vivian. If fate is on our side, we will meet someday. (watches 8 Tong and Cherie run with baby Vivian)
Eighteen years later, after that incident. 8 Tong brought Cherie and little Vivian onto a boat and they drifted onto an island. There, it is like heaven. Trees grew fruits and the soil was rich and brown. It was a paradise. 8 Tong became Vivian and Cherie's master for the 18 years, teaching them how to write and kung-fu. Cherie was an orphan and 8 Tong was kind enough to take her in. 8 Tong himself was actually also running from his enemy or his brother, who took his lover for his wife. One morning, after their studies, 8 Tong told them to get ready for a storm.
Vivian: A storm?
Cherie: How can you tell?
8Tong: Ai ya! Trust you Si Fu la! I am so old, I can feel it in my bones!
So the two girls gather enough food to last through the storm and went back inside the brick house.
Vivian: Will this house be able to withstand the storm?
8Tong: I hope so. Actually, it did 12 years ago today.
Cherie: Oh I remember, that night, bugs were flying everywhere! I was only 3 then but I still remember!
8 Tong: Yes, so I am hoping that it is strong enough for this one.
From Mainland China, Louis (Chan) gets ready for his trip to Japan.
Chan Dad: Remember son, you must be back in a month because you must get ready to marry Fannie, your fiance!
Louis: Father, do I have to?
Dad: YES! Now hurry up! Get on going! (cough cough)
Louis: Marco, take father back inside the house. I am on my way!
Marco: See ya brother!
Louis is on the boat for 2 days. As he looks ahead, dark clouds are gathering and they are forming a storm!
Louis: Oh boy! I think we should head back!
Captain: Oh no problem son, this is nothing!
On the third day, it rained like hell! The boat is clearly not capable of carrying such heavy goods and being bounced around. Soon, water is starting to leak.
Captain: Abandon ship!
Louis: (grabbing the captain by his collar) I told you to go back!
C: I can't help it now! Jump!
Louis: I will get you for this if I live. (jumps)
On the island close by.
Vivian: Cherie! Cherie! Look!
Cherie: What? What is that??
8 Tong: Why are you girls out here in the rain? Br.rrrrrr It's so cold!!!! And WET!
Cherie: What is that? (pointing at sinking ship)
8Tong: Oh my! That is a ship and it's sinking!
Vivian: What should we do?
Cherie: I say we go and rescue the people!
Vivian: People? (she is so innocent that she doesn't even know that other people existed)
8Tong: No, let's hope God is blessing them. We can't go out just like that! We will sink too!
That night Vivian had troubles falling asleep.
Vivian: (listening to the howling of the wind) I wonder what other people look like? Are they as fat as Si Fu??? (smiles) Do they have long hair like me and Cherie? I wonder if they are tall or short? (gets up)
She takes a look out of the window.
Vivian: (praying) Please, let there be survivors!
The next moring, the sun is shining brightly. On the beach, Cherie found something unusal…..
Cherie: VIVIAN! SI FU!!!! LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND!
Vivian: (runs to Cherie….looks at Louis' back, his face laying down) yuck! Looks like a dead fish! (sniff) Smell like one too!
8Tong: Ai ya! Vivian! Behave yourself. This lucky guy needs some rest! Let's take him in. Come on!
Vivian, Cherie and 8 Tong carry Louis back into the house.
