Played every game and is quickly making his way up a very steep learning curve. Held down full-back and centre half-back last season, playing on all the big names. Sometimes he won, sometimes he was beaten, but at all times he showed great persistence, skill and desperation. A good spoiler, strong mark and accurate kick, Hay takes every assignment in his stride and was fourth in the AFL for rebounds from the defensive 50. Looks to be a key position player with a big future.
