THE CURRICULUM

MIHS provides pupils with a broad and balanced education In accordance with The National Curriculum. In addition Arabic, Quran and Islamic studies lessons form an integral part of the school's timetable

A TYPICAL SCHOOL DAY: -

08:30 - 08:40 ………. Staff Briefing

08:45 - 09:05 ………. Registration / Quran reading or Assembly

09:05 - 11:00 ………. Lessons 1 - 3

11:00 - 11:15 ………. Break

11:15 - 12:30 ………. Lessons 4 - 5

12:30 - 13:30 ………. Lunch / Prayer

13:30 - 13:35 ………. Registration

13:35 - 14:15 ………. Lesson 6

14:15 - 14:30 ………. Break / Prayer

14:30 - 15:45 ………. Lessons 7 - 8

Whole school assembly takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays. Special timings apply during the month of Ramadhan.

In year 11, at the age of 16, pupils are entered for the National GCSE examinations in which they are able to take up to 11 subjects

CLASS ARRANGEMENTS: -

On admission pupils are allocated to a tutor group. For certain subjects, such as English, Maths and Science, they are taught in sets according to their ability.
