 The first winner for "Fan of the Month" is an exceptional person. Many people entered the contest this month, but the person I picked, I knew, was different. Just from her entry I could tell just what kind of Mariah fan she was. And as I got to know her, my initial thoughts were confirmed. This special Mariah fan is named Myranda.  "I have been a Mariah fan since I first heard her debut album in
1990. I was 7 years old. I have been a truly amazingly devoted Mariah fan ever since. I have every single one of her albums, and much more mariah memorabilia. I visit mariah websites almost daily and am part of
a couple different mariah mailing lists. Mariah is my biggest inspiration and I will never stop believing in her no matter how much trash talk I hear about her. Mariah is so talented and I love her to death. Every one knows I am a huge Mariah fan. When I was in Junior
High every person there knew I was the biggest Mariah fan around and they would try to tell me she was a stupid slut but I defended mariah and I still love her. I was Mariah for Halloween last year, and I am looking forward to finally going to her concert when she tours the states again. Its gauranteed that I will be there!! MARIAH FAN ALWAYS!"

Myranda's Story:
 "It's over! I have been struck by the greatest inspiration of all time! And what better artist to offer this inspiration than the one and only Mariah Carey!
 I remember when I first started listening to Mariah Carey. I was 7 years old. My mom had gotten her debut album for Christmas, but she didn't like it, so she gave it to me. I was in my room listening to her debut album and I wasn't listening to it from the usual standpoint of a 7 year old and thinking, "Okay, this is cool." I remember thinking, "WOW! She can really hold those notes for a long time!" From the first time I heard Mariah, I was inspired...greatly, and have been a truly amazingly devoted fan ever since!
 I now have every single one of her albums, some of her singles, and other Mariah memorabilia. I buy every magazine that she is in that I can find. I visit Mariah web sites regularly and often print pictures of her off of them as well. All of the pics I print out, I put into my Mariah scrapbook along with all the magazine articles I find. My scrabbook is almost full!
 I was even Mariah for Halloween last year!! It is my favorite costume I ever had. I wore a short sleeveless dress and strappy shoes. I have naturally curly hair, so all I had to do was poof it up, put more make-up than normal, and hide my bangs. (Click here to see her as Mariah.)
I hear a lot of trash talk about Mariah now with her "new image" and everything, but Mariah is my biggest inspiration and I will never stop believing in her. Mariah is so talented and she has helped me realize I can achieve my dreams. All I need to do is believe I can. Everyone knows I am the biggest fan around, and will always remain to be."
