Opening Credits
The group continues to watch the news report on Whitaker. It says she was in a car accident. The group is confused. They look to max for help. He says Liz. Switch to Whitaker's office. Liz is answering a phone call. The others search her office. Max says the skins some how know she's dead and blames Liz. Tess finds a letter from the Universal Friendship League. Max opens the envelope and reads the letter out loud. Liz calls the UFL. She tells the man that Congresswoman has passed away. The man from the UFL hangs up. Max anounces they're going to Arizona. And Michael is staying til he finds Courtney.
Max, Isabel, Tess, and Liz are in the jeep on their way to Arizona. Isabel remembers what Whitaker told her about Vilandra. Isabel and Tess have fallen asleep. Liz is driving and Max is staring at her from the back seat. Liz tells him she's okay up there if he wants to get some sleep he says he hasen't slept since he saw her with Kyle. He says he doesn't bellieve she would do that to him and asks her what really happened.
Meanwhile, Michael and Maria investigate Courtney's apartment. They start looking around. Maria finds some CDs next to them a piece of shedded skin. She asks him how he figured out Courtney was a skin. They argue. Maria and Michael resume their search. Maria finds something in a closet and screams. Michael rushes over to help Maria. He and Maria see a Michael shrine in the closet. There are numerous pictures of him, as well as some of his belongings. From the pictures he figures out where her hide out is... the apartment across the street.
Max and company arrive at Copper Summit. They stop at the Stagecoach Museum and ask one of the locals where the Universal Friendship League is. He mentions the Harvest. Isabel says they've been invited. They drive off. The local calls someone at the UFL. He tells about them being here.
Max parks near the UFL building. Max and Isabel get out. Tess and Liz talk in the jeep about Liz and Kyle. Tess asks how kyle was in bed. Liz almost slips up then says great.
Max and Isabel walk up to the Universal Friendship League and knock on the door. Mr. Greer opens the door to address them. max asks what the UFL is. The man says it's a private organization. Isabel mentions the Vilandra project. The man pretends not to know. Max asks where Congresswoman Whitaker's family lives. The man gives him directions. Greer closes the doors.
Max, Tess, Isabel, and Liz make their way to the Crawford's residence. Ida Crawford is outside along with a mailman. Liz introduces them. She says she has some of her daughter's personal effects. Ida calls for her husband. Ida invites them inside. Liz, Tess, and Isabel enter the house. Walt comments to Max as he's entering.
Inside the Crawford Residence. Ida walks in with snacks. She's still in shock that they would come all that way just to bring some of Vanessa stuff. Liz says she was special. Isabel adds like a mother. Isabel notices a boy who is peeking in at them. It's Nicholas, Vanessa Whitaker's brother. He appears to leave. Max says they should find a hotel. They're all gonna spend the night there, and then tomorrow they can go to the memorial service together.
Michael and Maria are staking out the building across the street from Michael's apartment. They are talking. Michael and Maria turn around to see Courtney in front of them. Michael immediately goes into his energy blast pose. Courtney is scared of Michael. They interrogate her. She explains why she follows him. He asks what's in Copper Summit, Arizona. She says to stay away from there and there aren't any Michael-worshippers in Copper Summit.
Tess is looking at an old picture of Vanessa Whitaker. She closes her eyes and tries to use her powers to glean some information, when Mrs. Crawford surprises her. Tess asks about Whitaker.
Outside, Liz is walking down the street. Max calls out to her and then runs up to her. He asks her to tell him the truth. And that what he saw can't be true, because it means everything he felt in his heart for the last year is a lie. And she owes him an explanation, and he wants it now. She asks him to stop shouting because he's scaring her. He tells her she's not scared and she's hiding something. She denies it. He asks whats going on with her. She lies and tells him that she and Kyle made love. Max backs up and walks away without a word.
Isabel is organizing her stuff in a room when Nicholas stops by and peeks in. He tells her she used to tell him stories about this planet in another galaxy, how there was this war going on, like a revolution. Isabel mentions Vilandra. Tess walks in on their conversation. Nicholas leaves. Tess announces she just found out that Whitaker was adopted. Ans that Universal Friendship League is supposed to be a civic organization, like the Elks. Ida says they've been handling all the arrangements for the funeral. She and Walt haven't even seen the body. Isabel says she didn't have a chance to talk to Nicholas because Tess came barging in.
Michael, Maria, and Courtney are on their way to Copper Summit in the Jetta. Courtney and Maria argue. Michael stops them and asks what a husk is. Courtney explains. Then she mentions the harvest.
The next morning, Max, Isabel, Tess, and Liz attend the funeral service for Whitaker at the UFL. Isabel notices Nicholas hanging out at the doorway, staring at her. Isabel follows Nicholas to the back of the Stagecoach Museum. In the back, there is a row of bodies in glass chambers. They look exactly like the people at the UFL. Nicholas walks up. He motions with his hand and an invisible blast knocks out Isabel.
Isabel wakes up. She looks around and sees 2 rows of cultivating husks. Nicholas calls he Vilandra.
At the URL, Max, Tess, and Liz walk up to the casket where Whitaker's body rests. Upon first glance, it really does look like Whitaker is there. Liz touches Whitaker's hand and a piece of it breaks off. Liz panicks for a moment, and then re-arranges the flowers so they cover Whitaker's hand. Max, Tess, and Liz look around. All of the people in the UFL are scratching their necks, peeling off some skin. Max, Tess, and Liz attempt to make a calm retreat. Greer finds that Whitaker's husk has been cracked. He knows that Max and company know the truth. The front doors close suddenly. Greer motions with his hand and Max, Tess, and Liz crumple to the ground. He pulls Max toward him. Max gets up and goes over to the girls. He tries to get them to let Liz go. They all come after them. Greer shoots a yellow energy blast at Max, who counters with his green energy shield.
Back at the husk facility. Nicholas tells Isabel she's safe with them, he continues to call her Vilandra. He tellas her, her destiny is with them. With Khivar. he tells he who Khivar is... The leader of the rebellion. The man who currently sits on her brother's tarnished throne. The man for whom she sacrificed a kingdom. Her lover. Nicholas motions with his hand and Isabel drops to the ground again. he asks her about the granilith.
Michael, Maria, and Courtney arrive in Copper Summit and park outside the Stagecoach Museum.
At the UFL, Max is weakening under the strain of the skins' power against his energy shield. Max and Tess combine strength.
At the husk facility, Nicholas is standing over Isabel, who is kneeling on the ground. The door opens. As Nicholas turns to look at the door, Isabel grabs a nearby pipe. When Nicholas turns back around, she whacks him with it. Michael, Maria, and Courtney make a dramatic entrance. Michael knocks Nicholas to the ground with an energy blast. Maria and Courtney help Isabel to her feet and the girls make a quick exit. Nicholas gets up and fights Michael.
Back at the UFL, Max's shield collapses. He and Tess fall. Liz rushes over to him.
Back at the husk facility, Courtney swings at some kind of crystal with a pipe. The crystal breaks and the husk facility starts breaking apart.
Inside the UFL, Greer and the other skins suddenly weaken. They are linked to the husks in some way. Max, Tess, and Liz make a quick escape from the URL. They dash outside and run into Isabel, Maria, and Courtney, who have made a quick exit from the hidden husk facility. Michael comes out carrying something in his arms. It appears to be Courtney's husk. The pod squad with Maria, Liz, and Courtney make their escape.
The skins, led by Greer, make their way to the blown up husk cultivating facility. Nicholas says they may be as good as dead, but this is not the end. Episode ends with the skins standing solemnly in the blown up Stagecoach Museum.
