In a psychiatrists office we find Max. He looks uneasy. The shrink is talking to him trying to get Max to open up. Max looks a bit disoriented, gathering his thoughts. He then starts explaining what's been going on in his life as we see flashbacks from the first season. (Voice-over) Max tells about him being an alien, Flash to Max breaking outta his pod. he tells about Michael and Isabel too, Flash to Michael and Isabel as kids. Flash to Max, Michael, and Isabel walking first as kids then as teens. Flash to Michael standing by a tree. Flash to Isabel in the Crashdown. He tells how they didn't wanna tell anyone, Flash to Valenti. Flash to Max at the Crash Festival. but then one day all that changed, Flash to the scene where Liz gets shot and he saves her. He tells how he, Isabel, Michael, Maria, Alex, and Liz are all connected, Flash to Max, Isabel, Michael, Maria, Alex, and Liz standing together. He tells about Tess and Nasado, Flash to Tess at school. Flash to Tess and Nasado in the pod chamber. Flash to Nasado shape shifting. He tells about the FBI chasing them, Flash to Max and Liz running from the FBI. Then about Pierce, Flash to Pierce. And about what the FBI would do to them if they got a hold of them, Flash to Max in the white room. Then about Nasado shape shifting in to Pierce, Flash to Nasado shape shifting in to Pierce. He tells about their powers, Flash to Tess fixing the statue. Flash to Isabel changing ketchup into mustard. He tells about Pierces death, Flash to Michael killing Pierce. Flash to Max, Valenti, and Michael burning Pierce's body way out in the desert. Back in the psychiatrists office the shrink says Max repetitiously. It's now apparent that Max didn't really blurt out his secrets to the psychologist. He was daydreaming. He turns to the shrink and says it's just normal teenage stuff.
Back to the man in the desert. He's still digging. Suddenly he stops digging with the shovel and uses his hands to dig out something in the dirt. He pulls out a charred bone
~ Opening Credits ~
On a TV screen we see Nasado as Pierce. He's discussing the special unit. Flash to Maria, Max, Alex, and Isabel watching the TV. Alex speaks to Max. Isabel buts in. Max stands. Flash to Maria tuned in to the TV she gets everyone's attention. Back to the TV. Flash to Courtney (new Crashdown waitress) she says something Maria tells her to leave. Back to TV. Back to Maria and Alex talking about what's on the screen. On TV Congresswoman Whitaker defends the special unit. Pierce says she's lying, it looks like the end of the special unit. Back to Maria and Alex she compliments Nasado. Maria clears the room so she can change into uniform all but Max leave. He asks about Liz. Maria tries to give him relationship advice. Max tells her to use her own advice.
In the main area of the Crashdown, Alex is looking through a newspaper for movie times while Isabel is lost in thought. She snaps outta it and reveals that they aren't going to see a movie. The geologist walks up and asks them where the sheriffs office is. Isabel and Alex share a worried glance with each other. He shows them the bone.
Switch to Valenti's office where Grant is taking out the bone to show the Sheriff. He found it an the same place Max, Michael, and Valenti buried Pierce. Valenti looks uneasy. Grant says he was using a Lorenz Pulse 5 (a fancy metal detector). and it detected the bones. Grant leaves. Deputy Hanson who happens to be in the room say's he'll get an excavation team out there right away.
Michael and Tess are in Michael's apartment. Tess is advising Michael on how to control his power by blowing up rocks on the table. Max and Isabel walk in. There's obvious tension between Max and Michael. Max talks to Tess about Nasado. Then he and Isabel tell them about the bones the geologist found. Michael suggests they contact Nasado Max says no. The two argue 'til Isabel buts in. Max leaves.
The Sheriff's office has an excavation team set up in the desert. Deputy Hanson finds a pocket knife in the brush. Michael watches a safe distance from them. Something is watching him. Hanson shows Valenti the pocket knife then tells him he's gonna take it to the lab. Michael is running and trips over a rock. He sees a piece of shedded skin on the ground. It disintegrates when he touches it.
Max and Isabel are walking down a street talking. Max spots Liz. Isabel leaves, Max walks towards Liz. They say an awkward hello and strike up a conversation. Max attempts to explain what's going on and then about Tess. Liz listens and then explains she's there for a job interview. Congresswoman Whitaker arrives out of the blue and walks up to Liz. The two go inside.
Valenti enters his office and we see Deputy Hanson and Michael waiting for him. Valenti made up some story Michael goes along with it. He lets Michael go.
Michael is at a pay phone trying to contact Nasado. Nasado is mad cause Max doesn't know Michael is calling.
We see Grant Sorensen in the desert doing more research on the ground. Isabel walks up they talk.
Back at the Sheriff's office, Congresswoman Whitaker and Sheriff Valenti are having an argument about aliens. Valenti tells her not to invest so much time into chasing aliens or she'll be outta a job like Pierce. Hanson walks in and interrupts them he mentions the coroner's report on the murder victim. Whitaker is now interested.
The 3 are in the coroners office with the coroner. They stand around the bones. Some of them are fused together but bones don't melt. Only a bizarre radiation could do that. Valenti and Hanson start to leave Whitaker insists on staying there. She mentions the FBI. Hanson mentions Michael.
Michael is sleeping on his bed when there is a knock at his door. It's the police. Valenti arrests him.
Nasado, disguised as Pierce, enters the Crashdown someone at the Crashdown recognizes Pierce from TV. And bothers him. Nasado enters the bathroom and shifts back in to Ed Harding then exits. The man waiting outside is confused. Nasado enters the back room where Max, Isabel, Valenti, Alex, and Maria are waiting. They ask him about Whitaker. He says he's been "diddling" her all summer. He says now he may have to kill her and whoever else knows about the bones. Liz enters and stands up to Nasado. Max says there will be no killing. Nasado argues with him. Max wins. Valenti says Whitaker took the bones and he doesn't know where to. Max has a plan.
Liz is organizing files in Whitaker's office. She and Whitaker talk then Pierce enters the office. They chat, Liz leaves to get more files. The two flirt then leave. Liz lets Max in a back door.
Sheriff Valenti visits Michael in his cell. He wanted to make sure Michael doesn't do anything like use his powers to try to break out of here. Michael says this is where he belongs because killed a man. Valenti tries to comfort him but it doesn't work. Michael seem scared and confused.
Max and Liz have thoroughly searched Congresswoman Whitaker's office. They found nothing. Max gets mad and knocks something down, he quickly regains his cool. Max explains the whole Cadmium-X thing to Liz. She says to check the particle physics lab at Las Cruces University.
Max is walking along a street when Nasado grabs him and pulls him into an alley. Max tells him where the bones are. He says he'll be there. And asks how Max and Tess been getting along? Max says they haven't performed any mating rituals. Nasado tells him some destiny bullshit. Max is mad. Nasado tells him to be careful not to confuse what he wants to be true with what really is true. They go in different directions.
Nasado walks to his car and notices a piece of shed skin on the hood. He looks around nervously.
Outside the Lab the bones are being delivered. Everyone heads inside. Max and Isabel start to follow but stop when they see a security guard. Tess is someplace outside the lab waiting. Whitaker is inside the scientists tell her it'll be a few minutes she looks anxious. Isabel walks up to the Guard who is reading something. At first he's rude but once he sees Isabel he's all nice. Isabel flirtatiously asks for help to get to the student union. He immediately offers to take her. the two leave. Max runs up to the locked door and uses his powers to open it. He slips inside. In front of the Lab door Max calls Tess on a cell phone. Nasado still hasn't arrived. They go over the plan once more then hang up. Max enters the Lab.
The scientists announce it's show time. Max sneaks around the room till he reaches his entry point. Flash to Tess she starts the Mind warp. Flash to Whitaker. Back to Max he opens a door. Flash to Whitaker, Flash to Tess. Flash to the door Max opened it appears to be closed. Max goes inside the door. he walks down a hallway 'til he reaches the bones. He prepares to use his powers on them. The scientist turns on the accelerator Max is blown back away from the bones. He crawls toward them. Flash to Whitaker. Back to Max he's using his power on the bones. The scientist counts down to the scanning. Flash to Max he's almost done. Flash to the scientist. Max makes his exit. Flash to Tess. Flash to Whitaker. Flash to Max. Flash to the scientist. The bones are being scanned. Flash to Tess the mind warp is broken. Flash to Whitaker. Results print. NO Cadmium-X and the bones are 42 years old. Whitaker's in disbelief.
At the Crashdown Tess, Isabel, Michael, Alex, Maria, and Max talk about their victory. Courtney comes out from the back room. She flirtatiously says hi to Michael then leaves. Michael moves to the counter, Maria follows. They talk about their nonexistent relationship. She tells him she misses him, he tells her not to.
Max exits the Crashdown Liz is outside they have a heart to heart. He touches her arm she has a flash of her flying through space and her and Max sharing passionate kisses. She smiles. Max looks confused and asks "What?". She lies and says nothing. They say their good-byes and she exits.
Max enters his room and lays down *topless* on his bed. He hears a knock on his window. He thinks it's Michael. He goes to the window and opens it. he sees no one. Suddenly Nasado appears he's hurt pretty badly. Max helps him inside and lays him on the floor. Nasado says "They're among you now!" Max is confused "Who is? Who's among us?" Nasado says the "Skins" Then he dies in Max's arms. Max is in shock.
