Max questions Milton about the sighting, figuring it is just another hoax. Milton convinces him that it is something big because the police are snooping around Frazier woods and a couple, a family, a hiker and a fisherman named Rocky Calhoun, have come forward admitting that they saw something strange. As Max questions Milton, Valenti questions Rocky and gets Rocky to tell him what he saw.
The next day Maria walks into school with a newfound confidence and 3 phone numbers. Why? The Aqua-Bra. "All the fun of implants, without the invasive surgery part." Alex passes out flyers to Maria and Liz promoting the Fathers' camping trip in Frazier Woods. He spots Isabel and walks over to her. He asks her to the movies and she eventually accepts.
Max, Michael, and Isabel meet in the eraser room to discuss the sighting. Max decides that they should go on the camping trip to find out what happened before Valenti does. The only problem is Michael can't come or won't come because he would need a real dad for that.
Jeff walks in on Liz changing and apologizes, embarrassed. He tells Liz how excited he is to spend time with her and to meet her new friends: Max, Isabel, and "that guy with the hair." (Hehe)
Michael angrily storms out of the trailer because there is no milk to go with his cereal dinner that he just happens to be eating outside. He spots River Dog, who assures him that the sighting was real.
Liz and Maria cut a deal: If Liz pays Maria $62.50 and does her math homework for a week than Maria will go on the camping trip and spare Liz from having to go through all that father/daughter bonding alone. As Liz gives Maria the money, Maria hands Liz some more Echinacea for her cold. Jeff sees the transaction and worries that Liz is buying drugs.
Kyle impatiently waits at the police station to buy a tent with his dad. When Valenti arrives he informs Kyle that he won't be able to come camping because he has to deal with the sighting.
At The Crashdown Michael tells Max and Isabel that he thinks River Dog may be their father because he knows so much about them. Meanwhile Alex worries about his "date" with Isabel and proceeds to start basically freaking out. (So darn cute) As Max and Michael pay Liz, Maria tells the guys that they both have a big weekend going out with "men." Isabel tells Alex she has to cancel their plans because she has to go on the camping trip and Alex tells her that he has to go too and he was just about to say the same thing.
Everyone is meeting to board the bus in the school parking lot. Alex assures his dad that he really wants to go camping and that they are prepared. Phillip Evans is surprised and pleased that Max and Isabel are "joiners." Jeff begins to talk to Maria and Liz about the scene he saw earlier but is interrupted when the girls see Max and run off to think of a lie to cover their first lie. Valenti comes through and shows up to come camping with Kyle. Mr. Whitman (Alex's dad) greets Valenti and tells him he is worried about the sighting. Everyone boards the bus and Max spots Maria and Liz. He is quite amused. Valenti calls in for extra men on the perimeter when he sees Max and Isabel are camping also.
Max and Isabel find a spot close to the trees. Alex and his dad decide to camp nearby. Valenti decides the only place where his cell phone can get good reception is right next to the Evans' campsite, and he invites Liz, Maria and Mr. Parker to join all of them and "make a party of it."
As Kyle tells an alien story to Maria, Liz and his dad, Mr. Evans, Mr. Whitman, Mr. Parker and Max play poker. Max lets Mr. Parker win. Meanwhile Isabel and Alex go star gazing. All is going well until Alex calls their plans a "date" and Isabel insists they can only be friends.
Liz and Max meet after Liz is done brushing her teeth. She is a little cold to Max, and he tells her he didn't want to stop their relationship, he just wanted to slow down. Liz tells him to let her in
River Dog wakes up Michael announcing, "It's time."
Liz catches her dad going through her stuff. She explains that she wasn't taking drugs and decides to spend the night outside. She spies Max and Isabel heading off into the woods and she follows them. Max wants Liz to leave but she insists that she is interested also. Then Maria shows up and they decide to come along too. Valenti trails them through the woods as Jeff realizes that Liz is missing. The gang notices that search dogs are after them and Liz and Maria stay behind to distract the police and their dogs.
River Dog breaks his ankle while he and Michael walk through the woods. Michael asks why he can't just fix it and River Dog tells him that he is not an alien. Michael heals his ankle and they go on.
Jeff embraces Liz and Maria. Maria uses her bladder for an excuseagain. Phillip Evans worries about his kids while Milton is arrested for searching around the woods with a metal detector.
Kyle finds his dad tailing Max and Isabel and yells at him for finding them more important than him. He presses his dad for information and storms off when his dad won't give it to him. Meanwhile, Michael and River Dog and Max and Isabel meet and find the symbol. It glows when the aliens put their hands over it. Valenti shows up and Max erases the sign and thanks Valenti for finding them.
James Valenti Jr. goes to see James Valenti Sr. in a nursing home. He tells his estranged dad that maybe he was right all along about aliens.
