Domaine de Fontanilles

Appelation:  Faugeres

Location:      The Faugeres region is in the south of 
                   France in the viilage of St-Paul
                   de Fenouillet. This is near both the
                   Spanish border and the
                   Mediterreanean Sea.

Cepages:      Syrah, Grenache and Carignan

Vineyard:      40 hectares

Soil:             Poor chacky soil with small stones.

Vinifcation:   Traditional for the region with long
                    vatting and fermenting in order to
                    obtain optimal extraction of aromas 
                    and color.

Comments:   Dom. des Fontanilles has a purple 
                   color with a strong nose of red fruits
                   in alcohol.

Serving:       Wonderful with roasted meats, game
                   and medium cheese. Serve at room
                   temperature (57 degrees).
