Bright Angel
Chapter 10

Taylor: “We’ll be right back,” Melissa whispered into my ear and letting go of her hand, I watched Hillary and her walk towards the bathroom. “So,” Zac began, “looks like you two are quite the couple.” “Yea, I guess so,” I answered with a smile. “I’ve never met a girl as great as Melissa before.” “I could tell,” Zac said. I heard someone cough behind me interrupting the conversation and I turned around to face the same girl in the blue tube top from earlier. “Well, I just wanted to give you another chance to take my number while she’s gone,” she attempted once more in vain. “I’m sorry, but I kind of just meet her and I really like her, so I can’t take it.” “Yes, you can. I’m much better than her, trust me.” By this time, Zac was sitting behind me rolling his eyes. “I’m sorry, but I really don’t want it.” “I know you do, just take it,” the girl said starting to get a bit annoyed. “He told you he doesn’t want your freaking number, now leave him alone,” Zac backed me up while throwing a fry at her head. Isaac and Clover made they’re way to the table and taking a seat, Isaac asked Zac, “What did I miss?” “Well, the girl in the tube top is trying to pick up Taylor, he won’t take her number cause for one, he likes Melissa, and also because she’s ANNOYING AS HELL!!!” Taking aim, Zac flung another fry at her as she yelled, “Ouch, stop it!” “Score! Direct hit,” Zac stood up and yelled, then sitting back down, he turned and whispered to his older brother, “Later on the nightly news, a young girl was injured at the mall today when ambushed by a 15 year with French fries. The victim claims she has suffered serious trauma to the head.” Isaac laughed. The girl in the tube top crossed her arms and yelled, “What does she have that I don’t?” after trying to convince me that “she doesn’t have to know!” “Let’s see,” Zac cut in once again, “for one, she has class, which I can see you lack. She’s a lot nicer too. Plus, she doesn’t force her number in guys’ hands.” Everyone at the table laughed as Zac started going through the list in his head. She turned to me. I looked back saying, “I really like her, and it doesn’t matter who you are, I wouldn’t take the number anyway because of that.” Part of me wanted to yell at her, but the common sense told me to keep my mouth shut and try to be polite. Just then, I spotted the two girls making their way across the food court and back to the table. As Melissa and Hillary neared the table, tube top girl whispered, “You’ll regret it someday,” and walked off after yelling “BITCH,” in Melissa’s face. “Pick on your own trashy kind,” Hillary yelled back at her as Zac started to clap. “What was that all about?,” Melissa asked as I put my arm around her. “Nothing,” I told her. “Do you know those girls?,” I heard Zac ask Hillary as the other two meet up with the girl in blue and walked onto the escalator. “Not really, but I guess you could say we meet once,” I watched as Hillary gave a big grin to Melissa as she took hold of my hand.
