Subject: Hollywood A.D. Teaser

The ep opens up with the CSP (cigarette smoking pontiff) offering a deal
to 'Mulder'- if Mulder gives him the Lazarus bowl, he'll give him 'Scully'.
He's holding Scully as a hostage- as the camera comes closer, we see the
hostage he's holding is Tea Leoni, and the man playing Mulder is Gary
Coleman.. There's talk, Mulder refuses to give him the bowl, and throws
himself at CSP and Scully.. 'Mulder and Scully' go tumbling down the
graveyard hill and land in an open casket, which just happens to close on
 them ;)
 Script excerpt:
Now Shandling kisses Leoni gently on the lips...

 GARRY SHANDLING:
Seven long years I've waited for just the right moment...

 Leoni kisses him back.

 TEA LEONI:
 You're a sick man...go on...

 GARRY SHANDLING:
I love you, Scully. No ifs, ands...

And now Leoni takes the offensive, grabs Shandling to kiss him.

 TEA LEONI:
 Or bees.

As we leave this picture, we see the *real* Scully and Mulder watching the
movie in a theatre. Along with them are Tea Leoni, Gary Coleman and Skinner-
who has a very big smile on his face... When Mulder looks at him, (Mulder's
look is that of humiliation), Skinner raises his hands and shrugs
innocently.

Subject: Fight Club

According to Autumn...

Is the tale of Betty and Lulu doppelgangers who have followed each other
around the states leaving destruction in their path and both land in Kansas
City. Bad things happen when these two are around each other. The teaser has
two missionaries beating each other up.

They are not the only doppelgangers though. The first time we see "Mulder"
and "Scully" in this episode we really see "The Man Who Looks Like Mulder"
and "The Woman Who Looks Like Scully"

Subject: Another Hollywood A.D. Q&A

This was posted to the Haven on Sunday morning:

Hollywood A.D. Q&A -the source wishes to remain anonymous.

Question: Can you tell us what Scully does at Mulder's apartment?
Answer:: They just talk, but it's a cute conversation.

Question: You read the script ñ haven't seen footage right? Just
clarifying.
Answer:: But to be honest, I really doubt CC's gonna have the nerve to
change much of DD's script.

Question: In any of the script directions, does it mention the word
gaze?
Answer:: LOL! Ummm, not that I can remember.

Question: Is the case assigned to M&S? or one that M&S discover?
Answer:: If I remember, it's assigned to them.

Question: How much of the script is spent on the actual X-File as
opposed to the movie and M/S interaction (like the Scully can't
sleep/goes to Mulder's apartment)?
Answer:: About half maybe. Maybe a little more.

Question: What's M&S's first reaction to the actors on the set? Do
they see them the first time together?
Answer:: To answer the second part first, yes.
Answer:: I think they're kinda bumfuzzled.

Question: This Lazarus BowlÖis that gonna make ANY sense?
Answer:: It's kinda out there, but what isn't on TXF?

Question: Will Scully be wearing something other than black?
Answer:: LOL. I have no idea.

Question: Does Skinner have an "equivalent" character or just M/S/CSM?

Answer:: Just M/S/CSM in what we see of the movie, but yeah, he's
supposed to have a character.
Answer:: We hear who is gonna play Skinner, but that's something I
wanna save.

Question: Any food in the Lazarus bowl?
Answer:: Sort of.

Question: You mentioned in-jokes in the script. Can you give us a hint
about some of those, or better yet, examples?
Answer:: There's one regarding Scully's high heels and her running in
them.

Question: Do M/S make any realizations as they watch their movie
counterparts?
Answer:: I think they're too shocked to see what has been done to them
and their work to be drawing great conclusions.
Answer:: I'll just say that Mulder has a reaction to what he sees on
screen and the timing of his reaction is pretty telling, I thought.

Question: Any subtle jokes about Mulder looking a lot like Tea's
husband?
Answer:: Not about him looking. There's a little joke about Tea and
Mulder, but also one about Gary and Mulder.

Question: Anything that has a "fun at his own expense" twinge to it by
DD?
Answer:: Yup, a couple of things.

Question: Any remarks about Screen/Scully being too tall? Or is that
the high heel reference?
Answer:: No and no. Screen/Scully is mostly concerned with running in
those things.

Question: Is there any interaction between GS&TL as actors and M&S?
Like, does TL (as the actress playing Scully) talk to Mulder outside
the movie?
Answer:: Yes, but GS is the one who talks to Mulder. TL is with
Scully.

Question: Can you give us any GS/M dialogue without spoiling too much?

Answer:: Well, GS is asking Mulder questions about a wardrobe
situation.

Question: His bad ties maybe?
Answer:: Have to wait for that one.

Question: Is there any dialogue about Screen/Scully's "huge" cross
necklace?
Answer:: Nope.

Question: Is CSM in it or just represented on screen?
Answer:: Just on screen.

Question: Any cell phone interplay?
Answer:: Oooo, yes.
Answer:: There are a couple or three cell phone conversations, but one
in particular is fun.

Question: Tell us (anon's name)
Answer:: I don't wanna spoil that one sorry. But as long as it's kept
in there, people will love it.

Question: Do M&S watch the movie at a special test site, or do they go
to the theatre?
Answer:: Theatre.

Question: Does Screen/Scully get to say, "Mulder, it's me?"
Answer:: I don't think so.
Answer:: I'm sorry. I was wrong. She does say it at least once.

Question: Does Screen/Mulder like porn?
Answer:: We're never given an indication of that.

Question: Any flashlight worthy scenes? Or mostly daytime stuff?
Answer:: Flashlights are used yes.

Question: Skinner gave out the info for the movie, right? Does this
seem out of character to anyone else?
Answer:: I'll say that the only negative thing about the script for me
was the Skinner characterization, but it was all so funny, I didn't
care.

Question: The TL/GS kiss. Is it a mirror of the hallway scene? What
context is it in?
Answer:: It's not a mirror of the hallway scene.

Question: Does the script say what Mulder answers the door in when
Scully visits in the middle of the night?
Answer:: No, but he was lying on his couch.

Question: On the real investigation, is there a location given?
Answer:: I think it's there in DC. Don't remember for sure.

Question: Is there a fake CSM?
Answer:: Yup.

Question: Would we recognize him?
Answer:: I think so, I mean you'll know who he supposed to be.

Question: Is Chuck in only one scene?
Answer:: Two scenes.

Question: Do we see any of the case or are we just told?
Answer:: Oh, we see it. The real one, I mean. (I was getting really
tired at this point so my level of accuracy starts falling off
dramatically)

Question: So there are sort of flashbacks?
Answer:: Most of the ep is in the past and the case is in the past.
The beginning and the end is in the present.

Question: (I don't know what this was an answer to but I just couldn't
leave it out)
Answer:: Which keeps my "they're already doing it" theory very much
intact.

Question: Like Rain King, there is not a real time reference, I
assume.
Answer:: No there's not, but I think it's implied the beginning and
end are fairly current.

Question: Do we get any indication that Scully is reluctant to
investigate the real case?
Answer:: None at all.

Question: Any new pet names in this one?
Answer:: Yes, actually. Something Mulder calls Scully.

Question: And?
Answer:: It's Sister Spooky.

Question: He better not think of her as a sister.
Answer:: He doesn't. It has a different connotation and connects to a
story she tells him.
Answer:: She has her own paranormal experiences ñ She and Mulder still
have a bit of a different interpretation at the end though.

Question: Any more whispers into her ears?
Answer:: Don't think there's any whispering.

Question: I've decided DD is the ultimate shipper. (something
else-can't read my writing)
Answer:: I came away from it more sure than ever that DD was a
romantic and can handle the "ship" just fine.

Question: ?
Answer:: There is a joke about Scully and Skinner. It was funny though

and I loved M&S's reactions.
Answer:: Actually Scully is the one who made the joke.
Answer:: My impression was "well, that sure puts a dampler on all the
Skinner/Scully fans."

Hollywood A.D. Q&A cut and pasted by erin :) The source wishes to remain
anonymous.

Question: Did you say you have DD's script?
Answer: I've read it, yes..I can't give out specific spoilers just yet, but
any doubts I ever had were erased. It was very funny from beginning to end --
*especially* the beginning and end. *g* As a Scullyist and shipper, I was
pleased. Thought GS and TL being in the ep was handled the best way it
possibly could be. I'm looking forward to it very much.
Question: Can you tell us how much of the episode has Tea and Gary. Are they
in it a majority of the time or just a little?
Answer: Not much -- couple of scenes.
Question: How much Skinner is there?
Answer: Fair to middlin' amount. *g* More than usual.
Question: Does he say "ass", and are there any cute Sk/Sc and/or M/Sk
scenes?
Answer: I don't remember him saying it, but that doesn't necessarily mean
anything. And I'm *really* not the best one to ask about cute Skinner scenes.
*g* There were several funny scenes between them all.
Question: I hate to push it but could you describe a funny scene or two
please?
Answer: Well, in the teaser Skinner is described as "beaming from ear to
ear" and then "shrugging innocently."
Question: Is the shippiest part you mention is shown by the reaction of real
Mulder and Scully toward the fake one (the movie)? Or it's what TL and GS has
in their parts that made it so shippy to you?
Answer: I found shippy things throughout, but that's *me*. I can't say for
everyone. And you shouldn't miss the GS/TL scenes. You'll miss some funny
stuff.
Question: Do the real M&S have any scenes together?
Answer: Most of the time the real M&S are on screen, they're together. And
they're on screen plenty.
Question: Could ya tell us about the 'shippiness?
Answer: Umm.... shippiness is really in the eye of the beholder, so since I
don't want to be too specific, it's hard to say, but after reading it, I
thought to myself how much of a romantic DD is.
Question: How do M&S react to the GS and TL kiss?
Answer: That's one I'm going to abstain from answering.
Question: Do the real M&S get to see their screen person do they have funny,
weird reactions to them. Do they like them, hate them, etc?
Answer: They meet them, yes. I think they're kinda shocked. *g*
Question: There was some dialogue posted a few weeks/months ago that went
something like this:
 SCULLY: *something something* Lazarus bowl.
CHUCK: I can see why Mulder digs you.
Is this in the script? And if so, can you tell us if it's the REAL Scully or
the faux Scully?
 Answer: It's there. Real Scully
Question: So, are the real M&S working on a case at the same time the movie
is being filmed about them? Are the real case and the movie case the same
X-File?
Answer: Not at the same time, no. The teaser and the end is the present, and
then we go backwards in time. And yes, the case is *roughly* the same.
Question: Is the scene TL and GS in at the beginning and end?
Answer: Yes, but The scene at the beginning and the end is the same one,
sorta. There's another toward the end.
Question: Are the real Mulder and Scully in the beginning and end scene? I
really thought that it's shippy because real Mulder and Scully are in it.
Answer: Yes, they are This shipper was very happy. Though take that as you
will... I don't seem to be like most shippers anymore.
Question: How does the ship compare to Unnatural ship?
Answer: Not quite as physical at least in the script. Who knows what DD and
GA might add to it?
Question: So if I may ask, will "all" XF fans be pleased with the ep, in
your opinion, I mean shippers & noromos alike?
Answer: I'm pretty sure it won't be universally loved, but then eps rarely
are anymore.
Question: Do the real Mulder and Scully have more screen time compare to the
fake one?
Answer: Oh, they have *lots* more screen time.

X-Files' end is out there

The Vancouver Sun

Vancouver Sun

This may be the end, X-Files friends. After almost a year of speculation about the future of The X-Files, the final word is about to be written, according to one of the show's stars. Gillian Anderson said in the Australian magazine TV Week this weekend that the show will not return next year.

Anderson, who plays FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the popular series, confirmed that she and David Duchovny will tape their final episode in April, at the end of The X-Files' seventh season.

"We will not be here for an eighth season, so it's a matter of mourning the end," Anderson told TV Week, "and that will be very emotional."

There has been no official word from either Twentieth Century Fox Television, the show's production company, or Chris Carter, the show's creator, about the series' imminent demise.

Contracts for Duchovny and Carter expire at the end of this season, but Anderson is contractually obligated to an eighth season should the series continue.

But Carter said just last week that he will not continue the series without both Anderson and Duchovny.

Duchovny has said in the past he has no interest in continuing beyond this year.

"Seeing how the seasons have progressed," Anderson told TV Week, "and seeing where we all are in our lives and in the life of the show as a whole, it seems to me that we've done our best years." She said that everybody's attention is starting to wander. "The most beneficial thing for the series, to keep it in good form, is to go out on a high while we have the strength and the commitment to do it. I personally don't know if -- physically, emotionally, spiritually -- I could do another season and show up and put in 100 per cent."

Both Anderson and Duchovny have expressed interest in reprising their X-Files roles in a series of feature films.

GA: "There is a history and there is potential between her and Mulder and I think that selfishly and wonderfully the fans just want them to be together. You know. With no hitches." (smiles)

Reporter: "The show has toyed with the idea of a romance between the 2 characters, but nothing serious, perhaps until now."

Another 'Files' movie

David Duchovny and Garry Shandling -- who "flirted" on HBO's "Larry Sanders Show" -- are carrying their relationship one step further.

Shandling tells Pat O'Brien on tonight's "Access Hollywood" (7:30 p.m. on Ch.4) that he'll star in an upcoming "X-Files" episode directed and written by Duchovny, who stars as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder opposite Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully.

In the plot, a Hollywood studio is turning "The X-Files" into a big-screen movie, with Shandling playing Mulder and Téa Leoni (Duchovny's real-life wife) playing Scully.

"He comes to see if I'm depicting him accurately," Shandling says of Duchovny/Mulder. "And in that 'X-Files' episode, I make out with Téa Leoni. So I just end up having projects where I make out with my friends' wives."

Duchovny appeared as himself on the fictional "Larry Sanders Show," in which it seemed he had a crush on paranoid host Larry Sanders (Shandling).

From: Julia Moore

This is an article run in Entertainment Weekly (Feb. 18, 2000)

After tracking down the everything from a humanoid flukeworm to a sentient pile of coffee grounds, it was only a matter of time before Agents Mulder and Scully found themselves tangling with the lowest life-form imaginable: the COPS perp. Raising the creative bar for The X-Files' 150th episode, creator Chris Carter and Co. teamed up with Fox's 11-year-old lights-camera-handcuffs reality show. So when you tune in Feb. 20, don't be shocked to find bleeped-out profanity, the digitally blurred faces of pushers and hookers, camera-rattling foot chases--and, of course, that trademark "Bad Boys" theme song. "The commitment--frightening as it is--is to be COPS no matter what," says episode director Michael Watkins. "We've needed to strip away our show's exotic beats and go more with visceral instinct."

That's why David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and the X-Files crew are spending this January night in a dicey, pack-your-pepper-spray section of Venice, Calif. In their quest to replicate the cinema verite look of COPS, they've staked out a shabby bungalow, armed with a simple BVW-700B video camera--to capture that classic lighting-be-damned, run-and-gun feel. And the new aesthetic is paying nifty dividends: Not only has shooting time been reduced dramatically, but Carter estimates the move lopped $500,000 off the reported $3 million-per-episode average. "I'm sure Fox would love it if we did every episode on video," he says.

The guy Fox can thank for this cost-cutting concept is X-Files writer and die-hard COPS-head Vince Gilligan, who'd championed the cross-over for years. "I'd broach the subject now and then," he says. "Everyone was interested, but a little reluctant." Carter says the series' move from Vancouver to L.A. (i.e., COPS central) helped make Gilligan's idea mmore feasible. But ultimately, he says, "it was just a question of finding the story to tell."

Gilligan certainly solved that problem: The episode finds Mulder and Scully running into the L.A. County Sheriff's Department (and the requisite COPS camera crew) as they investigate bizarre murders in South Central, where eyewitness accounts implicate everything from a werewolf to a real-life Freddy Kruegar.

The scene filming tonight finds Mulder and Scully checking up on Steve and Edy, a pair of bickering queens who are in danger of being the next victims. In classic COPS style, the agents get caught in the cross fire of a dish-smashing catfight. "He treats me with disrespect!" Edy wails. "We're not here to get involved in personal problems," says Mulder. As Edy continues to let loose with the histrionics, Duchovny can barely suppress a laugh.

Although they're not straying far from Gilligan's script, the moment has a definite improv feel. And since this is being shot--a la COPS--in continuous takes, if anyone screws up--or cracks up--it's back to line 1. Still, Anderson says, "after you've rehearsed a couple of times, you start remembering what it's like to do live theater, and it can get very fun and creative." And, she adds, you can't beat the result: "When you watch a scene on playback, it looks like COPS."

Perhaps too much so. "I said to my mom,'Do you want to watch some [footage]?'" confides Gilligan. "And there's this great scene with all the cops running up the street, sirens going. She leaves the room to go wash dishes. I said, 'Aren't you interested in this?' And she's like, 'Well, turn off COPS and show me some X-Files.'"

Gilligan laughs. "Must be on to something."

HUUUUUUGE "Closure" spoiler ahead so READ WITH CAUTION!!!!

From: Genie VB

From Iona --the Singular Sensation.

Question: Regarding Scully's behaviour during/after Mulder's realization as to Samantha's fate: Is she comforting in the same fashion as in SUZ during THE Scene, or does she stand back and allow him to process it on his own?

Answer:It occurs right at the end. So, we don't have much time to see that. I think they're both in a bit of a daze. Both have found out the same thing in different ways.

Question: Do Mulder and Scully get to discuss what they've both found out or is that the last thing that happens?

Answer: I have a scene where they come together briefly...not long. But, I'm hoping for a final scene. A wrap-up.

Question: What are they wearing?

Answer: Mulder sports a lovely brown leather jacket throughout the episode. Accessorizing with jeans and sweaters and tees. Does the brown sweater, black tee thing. The black sweater and white tee. The black sweater and gray. Even sports a charcoal gray and soft gray suit and shirt. Very handsome throughout. And, it seems to me the hair is not as weedehackerish :)

Scully is looking particularly stylish. She wears a midlength clack leather number...very nice! Wears variations of black pants and shirts. Unbuttoned Season7-Scully-low :) A lovely charcoal gray...loved it. A cashmere looking blue turtleneck...seemed to match the eyes. And, a short-lives brown suit with a black mock-turtleneck. I don't think we see that one for very long. Hair's poofier too :)

Question: DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW--PLEASE. I WILL FEEL TERRIBLE, PLEASE LOOK INSIDE YOURSELF AND DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO KNOW. IF YOU'RE NOT SURE, DON'T READ THE THE REST OF THIS. What really happened to Samantha?

Answer: She died. Further answer to another question. Sam does not die at the hands of Santa.

Question:Would you say it has the emotional impact of AF?

Answer: Ooooo. Could be close.

Question: Are there any alien abduction implications when all is said and done?

Answer: No. I don't think so.

Question: Do we find out why Mrs. Mulder burned the pictures of her childern? Also, was she really murdered?

Answer: Hmmm. I think we might understand by the end why she did what she did. No, I don't think she was murdered.

Question: Do they explain how the "north pole" creep got the kids in the first place? (ie Dressed up like Santa, tapped on the window, coaxed them outside? -- no forced entry, etc . .. )

Answer: Just your typical creep- watching the kids, videotaping them...and abducting and killing them like some FREAK!!!! Amber Lynn and Samantha are not apart of that. And, there is a differentiation in how the kids Ed Truelove kills and kids like Amber Lynn and Samantha die.

Question: Does Scully perform Samantha's autopsy?

Answer: No autopsy necessary.

Question: How long has Sam been dead?

Answer: Since she was 14

Question:Is Santa acting alone?

Answer: Yes. And, we have to distinct group of kids we're talking about.

Question: Does CSM try to make a deal w/Scully?

Answer: He tells her something. She doesn't listen...just thinks of Mulder and being truthful.

Question:Why is M short with S a few times?

Answer: M's trying to find out answers his way. She doesn't back down. Honest. [I think the implication here is S is honest-but I could be wrong]

Question: Are we given any insight why Mrs. Mulder was always so distant and non-responsive to Mulder's questions, pain and needs?

Answer: I think we'll know better by the end. Implied.

Question:Is Sam captured on video tape like the others?

Answer: No. Sam is not on tape.

Question: Samantha's death does not even TIE intothe conspiracy? Didn't the WMM say something in the movie about her being taken to be hybridized...or something...

Answer: Conspiracy ties. Not aliens mentioned.

Question: At end, is it evident M is 'feeling' close to S?

Answer: It's not about that. That's just understood.

From Iona tiding us over until she recoops from her vacation--how much do we love her?

A mini-seance and Mulder suggesting spin-the-bottle with Scully; a schizophrenic lead; the reappearance of Mulder's mom; a journal from 1979 and 14 year old girl; CSM waiting for Scully in Scully's apartment...and for some reason I enjoy the fact that she tells him he looks sick

We all love Iona for giving us goodies while she's on vacation.

The restaurant scene (with M & S holding hands) and the final scene outside of the restaurant. I will say this about that: The restaurant scene made me cry...with no music and no edits. It was a good one for both GA and DD, but this was DD's scene. GA was trying not to break loose on the tears as I was. Scully does hold Mulder's hand.

And, the final scene did not have ANY kissing or hugging whatsoever. But, it was a nice moment. And, as with any XF episode, what is aired could be totally different.

TV WEEK

By Jenny Cooney Carrillo

TV WEEK/LA Reporter

After almost a year of speculation about the future of The X-Files, Gillian Anderson confirms that Fox Mulder and Dana Scally will film their final episodes in the next few weeks.

Gillian Anderson has broken the silence and revealed that The X-Files is over. According to the red-headed actress who plays Dana Scully in the Network Ten series, the last episode will be taped in April, at the end of its seventh season.

"We will not be here for an eighth season, so it's a matter of mourning the end and this will be very emotional," Gillian tells TV WEEK, confirming what has been widely tipped by the series fans.

When it's pointed out that she has an eight-year deal with producers 20th Century Fox -- unlike seven -- year contracts for creator/producer Chris Carter and co-star David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) -- and could be forced to continue without them, Gillian responds carefully. "I do, but I will not be doing an eighth season," she says.

"Seeing how the seasons have progressed, and seeing where we all are in our lives and in the life of the show as a whole, it makes sense to me that we've done our best years -- and I hope that it makes sense to others. We've done the best we can do, and we should be proud of what we've done. Everybody's attention is starting to wax and wane away from the central focus. The most beneficial thing for the series, to keep it in good form, is to go out on a high while we have the strength and the commitment to do it."

"I personally don't know if -- physically, emotionally, spiritually -- I could do another season and show up and put in 100 per cent," Gillian confesses. "When people have to show up and feel that they are doing it for insane reasons, I hope those involved in making that decision see clearly in that direction as well."

What the 31-year-old actress is really saying is that, despite her contract, she has no intention of returning to the role of another season.

Gillian feels that the powers-that-be won't call her bluff, because neither she nor David want to continue the series. However, both are interested in the continuation of the X-Files movie franchise, following the success of its first spin-off film in 1998.

"I understand that Fox and Chris Carter are both still interested in doing films, and to me that sounds like a wonderful way for us to go on," Gillian says.

"I also heard they may do an animated series, although I don't know who interested Chris is in that idea. But I think it would be great to have a Mulder-and-Scully animated series, and then we could come in once in a while and just do the voices!"

There has been trouble brewing behind the scenes of The X-Files for some time, including ongoing conflict between the series two main stars and a lawsuit that has created tension all round.

Even now, when Gillian, the mother of five-year-old Piper, is asked if new Dad David has sought any parenting tips, she pauses.

"The day he ever asks me for a tip, I will buy you a humvee (an ultra-expensive army-style vehicle favored by stars like Arnold Schwarzenagger)" she responds.

But wouldn't their conversation be more about parenting since life has changed in that area?

"What conversations?" she replies with a shrug.. "We go to work and do our work, and that's the way it's always been. We both have our individual support systems and don't find a need to have to get anything from the other, and that's fine."

While Chris Carter confirms that 20th Century Fox has approached him about the possibility of extending his involvement with The X-Files, it hinges on whether the show's stars want to stay -- and David Duchovny, like Gillian, doesn't.

"Barring any kind of amazingly tricky time commitment that they could get out of me for the next year, I don't think it will happen," David told TV Week on our recent visit to The X-Files set in LA.

The other major nail on the coffin for the show is David's lawsuit against 20th Century Fox, filed in August last year, in which he claimed he was being cheated out of millions of dollars of his share of the show's profits because Fox sold syndication rights to its own affiliate stations across the US for less than the fair market price.

David also accused Chris of being paid "hush money" by Fox to maintain the conspiracy against him, and insiders say this has left such bad blood between the pair that they have not spoken or been in a room together since the suit was filed.

As The X-Files counts down towards its conclusion, a nostalgic Gillian looks back at the scared, unknown 24-year-old actress who became Dana Scully in 1993.

"It has been the most challenging, fortunate, perfect experience in all its imperfections that I could have dreamed of being involved in," she believes.

"To have the chance to play one of these two amazing characters and be involved in something that has a very strong place in the history of television is remarkable."

And what about Scully and Mulder having a happy ending? Gillian won't say, but David isn't convinced.

"I think it's a tricky question for everybody to address," he says. "If we're going off to make The X-Files movies, I don't think Chris Carter will want to resolve the relationship in any huge climatic way on the TV series.

"I don't think there's an easy way out for the writers in any case. They will have a few tough calls as we get towards the end of the series. All I can say is that I look forward to seeing those last few scripts."

Courtesy Elwood Blues: From Episode 10 "Sein Und Zeit" by Chris Carter & Frank Spotnitz Note: THANK GOD IT'S FEBRUARY.

MULDER'S ANSWERING MACHINE is playing the Ma Mulder message we heard before. She's talking about that she hasn't heard from him [Mulder], but she's sure he's busy.

We're in MULDER'S APARTMENT -NIGHT- Ma Mulder tells the machince that there are so many emotions in her, she wouldn't know where to start. She also tells Fox that she wouldn't know where to start, that she let so much unsaid for reasons she hopes he might understand one day.

Mulder hits rewind, then play, listening to this section again.

When there's a knock at the door, Mulder hits stop, looking at the door for a few moments, as if jarred from a trance. Then he gets up, moves to:

The door is opened by Mulder, Scully appears, standing outside. Mulder tells her that he's glad that she's here. He moves off, leaving Scully to close the door herself. He hasnt' taken the time to weigh the heaviness we see in her.

The MM is rewound again by Mulder. Mulder is sure she tried to tell him something, and he thinks he knows WHAT.

Mulder hits play. Listening again to Ma Mulders message... He hits stop, looking to Scully, who's slow into the room. Lingering at the doorway between living room and entry. Mulder tells Scully that his mother knew what he'd find in California with this case.

Scully asks how could she've known... A child disappearing without a trace. Without evidence... In defiance of logical explanation... [Mulder] Scully comes toward him now.

Mulder realizes that his mother was trying to warn him, because of what he'd always believed. What's driven him.

Scully tries to talk to him, but he ignores her. He goes on to tell her that the parents who've lost their children described visions-- they saw their sons and daughters in scenarios that never happened, but that they described in notes that came through them as automatic handwriting--words that came through them psychically. From old souls protecting the child...

His mother must've written a note like this herself; he tells Scully.

Scully looks to the desk behind Mulder, where, next to the answering machine, he's got the charred remains of the photographs she burned in evidence bags. Pieces of charred paper spilled out of evidence bags onto the desk. What looks like a hasty search for such a note.

Again Mulder, talking about Describing the scenario of his sister's disappearance. Of her abduction by aliens. He tells her that it never happened, that the visions he had, they were to help him cope. To deal with the loss. He's been looking for his sister in the wrong place. He belives that what his mother was trying to tell him, was a warning away from the truth; that's why she was killed.

Scully, firmly but gently tells him that his mother killed herself, that she by herself did the examination, she conducted the autopsy. His mother had an inoperable tumor in her brain. She knew it, there were doctor's records...

Tears are flooding into Mulder's eyes. He doesn't want to believe it. Any of it. He doesn't want to let go.

Mulder, again, explains that she was trying to tell him something.

Sculy answers that she was trying to tell him to stop. The stop of looking for Samantha, that she was ONLY TRYING TO TAKE AWAY HIS PAIN.

But pain is all Mulder feels right now, as he breaks down in Scully's arms. Maybe he even drops to his knees, but the emotion should be uncontrollable. Scully's holding him tight.

In February, THE X-FILES will celebrate its milestone 150th episode with "X-Cops" -- shot entirely in the unmistakable style of FOX's own groundbreaking reality show, COPS. The series also features an emotional two-part mystery in which Mulder finally learns the fate of his sister, and an episode written by renowned science fiction writer William Gibson and directed by series creator Chris Carter. THE X-FILES airs Sundays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

In the Feb. 6 episode "Sein Und Zeit," the first part of a two-episode story arc, agents Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigate the disappearance of a child, and Mulder discovers information that shakes his beliefs and re-opens the case of his sister Samantha's abduction 25 years earlier.

The concluding episode "Closure," airing Feb. 13, finds Mulder continuing to search for clues to his sister's abduction and culminates in a race against time to find the long-sought-after answers to her fate.

Marking the series' milestone 150th episode on Feb. 20, "X-Cops" was shot on video entirely in the hand-held, "gun-and-run" style of the FOX series COPS, and employs many of the trademark COPS devices. In the story, agents Mulder and Scully are followed documentary-style by a COPS camera crew throughout the course of their investigation.

The Feb. 27 episode "First Person Shooter" was written by renowned science fiction writer William Gibson and Tom Maddox and directed by series creator and executive producer Chris Carter. In this episode, Mulder and Scully investigate a murder inside the high-tech world of a virtual reality game. As the stakes of the virtual game are raised, Scully must battle with a deadly digital character to save Mulder's life.

DD to Direct Another Episode

USA TODAY reports that David Duchovny will direct his second episode of The X-Files later this spring: "And in the spring, Duchovny will direct an episode he wrote, which he hopes will guest-star his wife, Téa Leoni, and Garry Shandling." Duchovny received widespread acclaim for his work on last season's "The Unnatural."

That Star Wars Episode II Rumor is Back

From the ZEntertainment Newsletter: "A reliable spy at DARK HORIZONS reports Gillian Anderson may be taking a part in STAR WARS II, which George Lucas is said to still be writing: 'I asked her if the following were true,' reports the spy, 'According to rumor, Gillian would be playing a Jedi Council Member who is newly appointed to the Council and was trained by Qui-Gon (and may have been more to him). As I asked her this, she just smiled and didn't say a word! She did say she though she would be filming a movie outside the United States around the time Episode II will be shot Then she said she would not be replacing Jodie Foster in HANNIBAL, as her X-FILES contract currently states that she cannot play an FBI Agent in any other film as this would be in conflict of interest with her character on The X-FILES.'"

"In what amounts to a really slow news day, the ratings are in for The Amazing Maleeni and while many X-Philes are starting to grow tired of `cutesy `episodes, it seems the public is not. The show garnered 16.8 million viewers last Sunday, placing it in the second spot for genre shows that week and twenty-first overall. Lack of print ads and promos seem to be damaging the ratings, though. It is now unknown as to whether or not Fox will bring the show back; an official decision will be made on February 2nd."

Well it *looks* like the rumors about William B. Davis writing are true. It's about a cure for cancer that involves men in suits. And the kid in the teaser that gets cured (and he has those God will cure you not medicine type parents) has a scar in his neck very familiar to our Ms. Scully.

Anderson Does It All

Gillian Anderson will write and direct an upcoming episode of "The X-Files," according to a report in TV Guide.

Anderson, who stars on the show with David Duchovny, said the experience has given her a new respect for show writers.

She was encouraged to take on the assignment after hearing Duchovny talk about how he was able to bang out a script in a matter of days. Hers, she said, took much longer.

As for her future on the series, which has been a topic of much debate, Anderson would say only that it's "still cloudy."

Duchovny has said this season is his last. Anderson still has a year to go on her contract, though Fox has yet to pick up the show for another season.

OMIGOD!!! THERES GOING TO BE A SECOND MOVIE!!!!!!!! Sorry to all of u who already knew that, but I had no idea!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!!! ehehehehe Anyway, here is some information I got from Rohans X-Files Realm. This site rocks, so check it out : http://xfiles.stylicious.com/

The X-Files Movie 2: "The Invasion?"

Written by Chris Carter Directed by Rob Bowman

Music will be composed by Mark Snow

The X-Files Film Sequel Planned for 2000 (NY Daily News New York Vue)

"There is a plan to make another 'The X-Files' movie, the summer following the last season of the show [which will be next year]," according to Mitch Pileggi, who plays Asst. Director Walter Skinner.

He also says he wasn't concerned that this past season would be the final one for the series "because I knew what everyone's contracts were."

Pileggi reports the team will return to work in late July. That includes his wife, Arlene, who is Gillian Anderson's photo double on the show, and sometimes plays Skinner's secretary.

"It's hard to get through our scenes together sometimes because of laughing at each other," he says. "She's not used to seeing me with that hard demeanor."

--

The movie will most probably centre around the alien colonisation of Earth. However, Chris Carter has said that a more likely scenario is a non-mytharc movie, possibly a ghost story. But numerous sources have stated that the colonisation will be wrapped up, with big explosions and the like.

One thing that is not a rumor is that the script for this new film is finished, done with and under lock and key.

Chris Carter recently spoke out about the sequel. Here's what he said: "There will be a second X-Files movie as far as I am concerned. But it won't be on this summer's hiatus. It seems like the actors are very excited to do it. It's just a matter of finding the time, and I think it would either come out in the summer of 2001 or possibly 2002. It would have been great to culminate the series and go right into the next big movie. I think there will be a year, or possibly two years in between."

Dark Horizons said this: "With the X-Files permanently closed, Agents Mulder and Scully must prove once and for all the conspiracy of extraterrestrial life."

Carter said that next season, what really happened to Mulder's sister won't be resolved, leaving it open to be resolved in the next movie. Carter confirmed that he wrote the movie and that Rob Bowman will once again direct it.

--

Carter says "We have an idea. We want to do a standalone, just a really good scary movie, not something that's tied into the mythology of the show.

Listen to what Gillian Anderson told PEOPLE magazine on a November 23, 1999 article:

But Anderson, hasn't made any plans to abandon the small screen anytime soon -- she's contracted to appear on the show until 2000. When the end of the series arrives, Anderson knows just how The X-Files should end. "I'd like it to finish with us in bed together," she told the Daily Mirror of a possible coupling between Scully and Mulder. "All Scully has had is one date with a wimp. It's time she let loose with some of that hidden passion."

They began shooting the scene outside. Mulder is outside the restaurant in the parking lot, while Scully is inside. "Action, Gillian!" On the first take, Scully walks out the front door and around the front of the restaurant towards Mulder, while Mulder is simultaneously wandering forward a few steps, gazing up at the sky. Scully approaches from behind him, and when she arrives Mulder turns over his left shoulder and appears to give her a kiss. I swear on my life that's what it looked like. Then Scully wraps her arms around Mulder from behind and hugs him for a few seconds, then breaks away and they cut.
