May 7, 2000 Time to face the facts about Ray Lewis This was the first post that I ever made on any bulletin board: "Role models, role models.... Ray Lewis is a role
model for his own children as am I for mine. He is a
football player, a great one, but a football player. If
parents do not temper their children's worship of
professional athletes with a dose of reality, then it's
their own fault. Stop counting on young, rich athletes to
teach your kids lessons. It's your job!!!!" Having said that, let me add that it is a crying shame that Ray is in this awful predicament, but he put himself there. If this man is guilty of murder or accessory to murder, he should rot in jail forever. I am so glad that this trial is near. Ray Lewis has been a sports hero of mine since the first time that I saw him play. No one has a better work ethic than Lewis on the field and this situation has eaten away at me (and many others). My sincere hope is that this trial clearly shows that he is not guilty and that Ray views this nightmarish incident as the proverbial cold slap on the face. When you hang with thugs, trouble will find you. Ray, once and for all, for everyone concerned, wake the hell up! Too many people are counting on you. |
