June 6, 2000 Ray Lewis: Ray Lewis' involvement with the killings in Atlanta officially ended with his testimony in this case. The Ravens linebacker delivered his version of the events in a calm, collected manner. Certainly, Ray is guilty of poor judgement regarding the police investigation of these killings. Without the ability to go back and change history, one only has the option of making amends for one's actions. Ray took a giant leap towards that goal with his guilty plea to obstruction of justice and his public admittance that he lied to police. Not required to plead guilty to anything and with a non-existent case pending against him, he stepped up and did just that and along with his testimony, accepted the legal and public consequences in the process. Very admirable in my view. They say a person makes their mark during adverse times. This is his time and on June 5, 2000, Ray Lewis started back on the right path. |
