Mr. Ken Rosenthal
c/o The Baltimore Sun

Dear Mr. Rosenthal,

I've noticed that you are not big on responding to the public's comments in your forum (surprise, surprise). I guess it's much different when "fielding" questions and I'm sure that writing for The Baltimore "We're the only paper in town, everybody can kiss our butts" Sun carries some inherent liberties.

I realize I'm late with this advice, but rest assured, as soon as I discovered that there was a forum to do so, I high-tailed it over here like an eight-legged dog. I'm referring to your public plea for assistance (a while back) in breaking the news of the Ray Lewis arrest to your son and I hope I'm not too late.

Try this:

1) Pull the lad away from the Playstation for a few minutes, sit him on your lap and break out a good history book. Thumb to the pages where it explains that in this great country, mere accusations by overzealous prosecutors, politicians and (racially-biased) policemen does not make an individual guilty.

2) Explain to the youth that since YOU were the one that made the choice to bring him into this world, that it is YOUR responsibility to be his moral guide and role model, not some perfect stranger who happens to be a good athlete.

3) On occasion, take some time off from telling Albert Belle and others how to act and reinforce points #1 and #2 to your son.

Thanks for your time.....again, sorry so late.
