Men: LA Trade Tech (9-18, 3-5 in SCC-North) got big games from SF Stanton Williams (17 pts) and PG James Derricks (12 pts, 8 asts, 7 rebs) plus some timely 3-point shooting from G Demetric Davis to beat visiting Pasadena (13-18, 3-5) and perhaps jeopardize the Lancers' postseason plans.
Trade Tech led all the way in this one, jumping out to leads of 6-0 and 13-3 as Pasadena missed 11 of its first 12 shots from the floor. The lead reached 15 at 25-10 with just under 4 minutes left before halftime. PG Horace Wormely's layup at the halftime buzzer cut the margin to 12 at 30-18 at the break, but his made basket brought PCC to 5/24 shooting (21%) for the half.
Pasadena twice cut the margin to 8 in the second half, only to see Trade Tech push the lead back out to 14 or more. 3-pointers by SF Terrell Stovall and Wormely made it 33-25, but LATT answered back with a 10-2 run spurred by 5 pts from Williams to restore the lead to 16 at 43-27. And after SG Darelle Rowe and F Thomas Scott nailed threes to make it 43-35, a pair of threes by Davis made it 49-35 moments later. A final 3-pointer by Davis gave LATT its biggest lead at 64-42 with about 4 minutes left and ended any remaining doubt about the game's outcome.
In addition to Williams and Derricks, LATT got big games from SG Diamond Johnson (15 pts, 4 asts) and Davis (13 pts incl 3 threes). F Mark Treadwell had a solid floor game; he took only 2 shots (making 1) but grabbed 6 rebs and dished out 5 asts.
LATT registered assists on 20 of 24 FGs and shot 53% from the floor, compared to 8 asts on 17 baskets for PCC, which shot an anemic 28% from the field.
Pasadena was led by Wormely, who had 17 pts including 3 threes. Scott added 10 pts from off the bench. Ctr Mark Dawson grabbed a game-high 14 rebs, but had just 5 pts and went 1/8 from the floor.

Women: Pasadena (23-6) started the second half on a 24-0 run to break open a relatively close game en route to an easy 93-58 win at LA Trade Tech (16-11) Friday night.
PF Ariel Towns scored 24 pts and grabbed 15 rebs to lead Pasadena. SG Jennifer Cleeland added 19 pts, while PG Ashley Campbell had 14 pts, 11 asts and 7 rebs for the winners.
The Lady Techsters managed to keep things close for a half, trailing just 39-30 at the break, before failing to score in the first 7-1/2 minutes of the second half and falling behind by 33. SF Trilena Amos scored 12 pts in the first half for LATT, but didn't score in the second half until the final seconds of the game.
Amos finished with 15 pts plus 7 asts to lead LATT. PF Marlena Sayles scored 12 pts and grabbed 6 rebs. PF Kenyatta Releford led LATT with 7 rebs.
Other standouts for Pasadena included SF Stefani Williams (10 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asts) and G Markiesha Russell (10 pts, 4 asts). Pasadena shot 50% from the floor on the night, compared to just 26% for Trade Tech.
