PF Maurice Miller came off the bench to score 19 pts and grab 9 rebs, both game-highs, and power #11 Cabrillo to a 65-56 win over Solano in the first round of the Chabot Tourney Dec. 19th.
Miller scored 10 of his pts during a 13-4 run that took Cabrillo's lead from 41-40 to 54-44, giving the C-Hawks control of the game. Miller later nailed 4 FTs in the final minute or so to help secure the win.
Four Cabrillo starters scored at least 9 pts: PG Julian Hatcher (10 pts, 5 asts), SF Vince Inglima (10 pts, 5 rebs), Ctr Murphy Stewart (11 pts) and PF Anthony Robinson (9 pts, 7 rebs). SG Dylan Marvin had a game-best 8 asts.
Solano got 15 pts each from SF Jeff McCall and SG Reggie Vezia, and 11 more from SG Jason McCall. PG Andre Bell dished out 6 asts, while PF Mario Mihalik added 8 pts and a team-best 6 boards in a reserve role.
