
SGs Lorenzo Keeler and Josh Hill each scored 19 points to lead Mt. San Jacinto (5-4) to a 92-75 win over #9 Glendale (6-2) in the consolation championship of the Rancho Vista Shootout at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster.
Keeler finished with 19 pts and 9 asts, while Hill had 19 pts including 6 threes to help the Eagles to the easy win. SF Antonie Lee added 15 pts and Ctr Dane Johnson added 13 plus 4 blocks, and PF Lee Stephens had 8 pts, 7 rebs, 6 asts and 5 steals for Mt. San Jacinto.
Glendale led 9-6 in the early going, with PG Brandon Robnett dishing out assists on each of the Vaqueros first four baskets. Robnett would finish the game with 13 assists.
But then Hill drained 3 threes to spark the Eagles, who quickly surged into the lead. And by the end of the first half, Mt. San Jacinto held a commanding 18-point lead at 44-26.
Glendale began the second half on an 8-0 run to cut the margin to 10, but then Hill drained another three to stop the momentum. The Vaqueros never were able to get the lead out of double digits, and Mt. San Jacinto pulled away to lead by as many as 22 at 83-61 with just under 4 minutes left to play.
Glendale PF Owen Duckworth led all scorers with 23 points, while PG Robert Valentine and SG Gerrell Finney came off the bench to score 14 pts each. Ctr Jamar Eubanks added 12 pts and team-highs of 7 rebs and 4 blocks.
Keeler and Duckworth were named to the all-tourney team.
