Sniper field pratice
Thise page is designed to help you understand how to use a sniper rifle out in the field. It is designed to simulate actual combat conditions, although it is just practice. All the targets are fixed. It would help you to gain experience do try these manuevers. Just remember , don't aim at any living thing. Here is the standard for measure on this site Gun: Modified CPS-1200, modified Scope: Bushnell 3x-7x .22 scope The first target is the vertical board on the other side of my deck. It is about 25 ft. away, optimum range with this gun and scope. Here is the board in the guns sights. You get the target in the scope, hold your breath, check the wind, and fire... This is a good example of how not to do it. When I aimed, I really just felt for the wind, but I really didn't check it and my mind didn't register it. And look, one foot off. It doesn't sound like much, but out in combat, if you are a foot off your target, it could be a fatal error. This is one thing that is so important, to check the wind. Don't just assume that since you don't really feel anything severe, that it is ok. This could present a dangerous situation in combat, so remember, ALWAYS check the wind right before you fire. After a few more shots, out of frustration, the target was destroyed. See the vertical pole? That is the target. yes, I hit it, yes, after several misses. It was the wind, I swear! hahaha I take aim at the second pole. The second pole is instantly terminated. I take aim at the left hand guardrail for the stairs. I sat down and aimed, and all of the sudden the wind died down. I took the shot... the guarge rail was soaked after a few shots(and misses!). Even when you think there is no wind, there might just be the slightest of breezes, and that can knock the stream of water off a few feet, like here. You have to KNOW. This is the last target. When I knelt down to take this photo, it started to rain. I knew I had to act fast...I took aim and realized...no wind! I immediately took a shot... A dead-on hit! Notice how the asphalt behind the mailbox is dry, proof that I was on my mark, and that a good gun, equipped with a good scope, can have deadly accuracy. A bulk of the shot hit the actual black metal mailbox(half pictured) because the gun+scope optimum range is about 25-30 ft. and I was only about 20-25 ft. away from the taget.
