With only 1 win in the league this season, the pressure was on with a match against the mighty Grasshoppers.

Going by their previous performances (getting gubbed in every game and conceding double figures), it would have been easy for the boys to become complacent, and after the first 20 minutes it looked as if this might be the case.

A combination of stinking hangovers, namely Pete and Bainsey who were still drunk, and some lazy play all round meant that the lads went in at half time with only a narrow lead. Johnny was first to open the scoring after an excellent through ball by John Mclaughlin, and his finishing proved clinical as always. But soon after, an atrocious mistake in the defence (we're not going to shame him for that one!) meant that the Hoppers sneaked an equaliser. After this, the DUMS lads started to get their act together, with passes being threaded together on all areas of the park. Some slick moves by Fraser, the Beard, and Keir on the right led to a series of opportunities, with further goals from Johnny. And even Curly with the return of his striking boots, as he strolled through the defence and slipped the ball into the bottom corner. Unusually for Keir he missed a chance from point blank range, but he managed to more than make up for this later on.

After several substitutions, namely P.Minty, Dan, and Si Crawley coming on, DUMS took over the game, and looked the stronger side all round. With strong performances from Neil (1st Year) and Colin at the back, the defence never looked troubled in the second half. Excellent goals from John Mclaughlin and Johnny finished the game off. Johnny with 6 goals in the game looks like he is already running away with golden boot. However he did make a few misses and with Fraser claiming the penalty in the last seconds of the game, the race for the golden boot is still on.

The final score ended up 9-1, a convincing victory for DUMS, and a good bit of practice for the forthcoming fixtures against Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Up the Dums!
