Adam was born in Durham on the 8th of July 1984. He signed for Darlington on the 3rd of July 2000 and has had limited first team experience. He made his debut for the Quakers, coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute, in their 2-1 win over Lincoln on the 29th of January 2002, playing well and lasting until the final whistle despite having his nose broken. Adam featured in United's home match against Darlo last season, playing the first 70 minutes before making way for Neil Maddison, the game ended in a 1 - 3 loss for United. In all he has featured in 17 games for Darlington (5 this season) and can play on the wing or as a forward.
He signed for Carlisle United on the 30th of December 2002 in a 3 year deal for an undisclosed fee.
