3 games Man of the Match. "If you can keep your head when all about are losing theirs"...... then you are Craig Farrell who despite the antics of Lenny Johnrose and a contingent of the Swansea crowd scored a penalty only to have to retake it and calmly fired past the keeper for the second time.
3 games comment. This was a high pressure game in a high pressure atmosphere, the whole team dug in and brought home a vital 3 points.
11 March 2003 - United are beaten 2-1 by Scunthorpe.

3 games Man of the Match. Richie Foran for his workrate and determination although both of our strikers were guilty of missing chances tonight.
3 games comment. This was always going to be a difficult one, Scunthorpe are a decent well organised side. Mistakes cost us, with Peter Beagrie in the opposition it was suicidal to give away free kicks just where he would most like to take them and we were guilty of doing just that. We did create plenty of chances to turn the game and with less riding on the outcome it would have been an entertaining match.
8 March 2003 - United grind out a workmanlike 0-0 draw away at Boston.

3 games Man of the Match. Paul Raven put in a superb defensive performance calmly doing his job and organising the rest to do theirs.
3 games comment. Maybe a match with little excitement or flair but this was just what was required. An away fan commented that our side was a very organised well drilled outfit, long may that continue!
5 March 2003 - United are through to the LDV Final at Cardiff. has his contract terminated, Jamie Burt is sent back to Chesterfield and Brian Shelley is transfer listed after breaking the clubs curfew over the weekend.
Shrewsbury 0 - 0 United. LDV Northern Final second leg. United go through 1-0 on aggregate. Att: 6273.

3 games Man of the Match. A superb team performance, each player with a job to do and stuck to the game plan. Very hard to pick just one player out but we go for McCarthy, he used all his know how to organise and guide those less experienced players around him.
3 games comment. This was a gritty determined performance with the whole team showing great discipline and working for each other. A 'grand day out' at the Millennium stadium is well deserved. For now though Saturdays game against Boston must be treated as the next cup final and the only game that matters.
1 March 2003 - United are comprehensively beaten by an average Hull City team in a 1-5 debacle at Brunton Park.
United 1 - 5 Hull City. Scorer Farrell. League position 20th. Att: 4678.
Team: Glennon -6, Birch -6 (McCarthy -6), Raven -6, Kelly -5, Murphy -5, McGill -5 (McDonagh -5), Summerbell -5 (Russell -5), Hudson -6, Rundle -6, Foran -6, Farrell -6. Subs not used: Wake, Byrne.
3 games Man of the Match. Not awarded.
3 games comment. There can be no excuses for a team performance as bad as this. We fielded a strong team today that on recent form should have had little problem in containing Hull, the shambles that ensued can only be the responsibility of those players who let themselves down so badly on the field. We were missing Stuart Green but we have played well without him before and one player, as good as he is, cannot be relied on to play every game. If players minds were on the LDV game then it's time to wake up, players professional livelihoods are made in the league not on a one off display in a cup final.
