My Involvement in School Activities
My involvement in school is varied from Pre-A.P. to Chess Club. I participated in school events as well. I hang out with break dancers in EHS and other friends of all kinds. Everyday I break or go to a quiet place to work on projects, homework, etc. Whether it is a non-club or club, I still had many fun experiences and learned many things from other people.
My Pre-A.P. class is a program that prepares you for the Advanced Placement classes the following years. In Eastlake High, the two classes are put into one whole room, similar to a college class room. Class Period after next you are constantly working to finish a lesson, test, and write an essay. The more you learn this year, the better it helps you for Sophomore Year. You learn how to use your time wisely and you become realize that you need to be disciplined. It is tough being in a class of 70+ in History and 40+ in English but you get used to it. The experiences I had in these two classes are overall fun, but tough. I still like it because of all the new friends I made.
Chess Club is a club that basically does what it is named for, chess. Every Friday you meet in room 205 to play a tournament. On Wednesdays, you can play for fun and challenge other people. Chess is a fun game to play with your schoolmates. You learn new tactics and your brain’s mentality expands when you play more. In chess, it’s fun to loose or win when you play because either way you learn from it. The teacher of the Chess Program is Mr. Worm, who himself is a good chess player.
Besides weekly routines, I participate in Eastlake’s Dance show at each semester. It is way to show the masses of people what I have been doing while I am practicing everyday at lunch. All of the shows I’m in are Hip Hop because I have yet to learn other forms of dances (there aren’t any classes open for freshman who want to take dance). It is a fun event and I hope to continue participating in it.
