Community Service
Most of my community service work was not put down because of certain events that occurred. Besides that fact, I always felt good at the end of a job. Community Service for me is doing help that is needed. It is just not for the College Recognition, but it is to aid the community that aided me; so essentially this is just payback to the community. I participated in much community service that did not need to be written down.
My community service that was written down was to help sell stuff and clean up trash at Martin Luther King Park in Skyline. There was this two day event going on in April, called Lao New Year. This celebration is for the Laos New Year; anyone who is able to go can. During the two day events, I helped run games, sell items, watch kids, and in the end of the two days help put away tables/chairs and clean up the remaining trash. It was a lot of work but as I said before it felt good helping out.
I participated in helping out in Eastlake; I participated in this exhibition of expression called “Life Stage”. I performed a solo Break Dance piece and after that, I helped out at the door. Explaining things to the audience and help out at the doors if there was anything that needed to be done. It is a great way for me to meet an audience that loves what I love doing, express in any form of composition.
In Biology Class, when we would have the time, we had a choice of picking weeds or not. When we did pick weeds I always contributed. The place we picked weeds is outside the Eastlake greenhouse. It is also known as the Eastlake Garden. Picking the weeds helps clear out the area so other plants that are need can bloom to its fullest beauty. The job is dirty and sometimes the weeds can poke you but the outcome will be great. I feel great helping out my school and other communities outside of it.
