Science Inquiry
As you use your
science book, you will ask questions, do investigations, answer your questions,
and then tell others what you learned. This is called science inquiry. You can
use science inquiry to do the science project.
1. Ask
a question about living things, objects, or things that happen.
a.
What can affect how long it takes a wet paper towel to
dry?
2. Plan
and do a simple investigation to answer your question.
a.
Put a few drops of water on each of several paper
towels.
b.
Test different ways to make the paper towels dry.
3. Use
some simple materials and tools to help you.
a.
Use a dropper to put water on each paper towel. Use a
clock to time how long it takes each paper towel to dry. Make a chart to show
the steps in your experiment.
4. Use
what you observed to answer your question.
a.
What affected how long it took for your paper towels
to dry?
5. Share
your information with your class.
