"The Price of Freedom"
While exploring the jungles, Reekon and Mortdred meet a young man named Belazar who begs them to come to his city of Kamir to aide his people. Their leader Orzon, and his people, are lost without the robot servants they once had in the age of science. Reekon and Mortdred offer them human slaves in return for their allegiance to Darkstorm.
The young woman known as Mana is unsure, yet the people of Kamir blindly accept. Arzon and Feryl, having followed Reekon and Mortdred, are spotted and pursued. They manage to escape the Darkling Lords with the Capture Chariot.
. Following Darkstorm's instructions, the people of Kamir travel to New Valarak to ask for refuge. Leoric welcomes them with all of New Valarak's hospitality. During the night, they steal the Spectral Knights' power staffs and hand them over to an awaiting Darkstorm.
Leoric and the others are forced into slavery under the threat that the Darkling Lords will harm the people of New Valarak if they do not obey. The Spectral Knights are put to work for the people of Kamir and treated poorly by all but Mana. Feryl and Arzon return, unaware of what has befallen New Valarak, and are captured and put with the others in the dungeon.
Darkstorm decides to hold a tournament to decide who among the Darkling Lords will get the captured power staffs. During the tournament, Mana frees the Spectral Knights. The Spectral Knights, spring on the Darkling Lords during their tournament and force them to flee New Valarak. Orzon apologizes for his and his peoples actions.
Freedom at someone elses expense, isn't really freedom at all.
