"Sorcery Squared"

Feeling embarrased about his lack of life at a party the Spectral Knights are holding, Cryotek readily accepts Arzon's invitation to come with him and Feryl to help remove a fallen tree from an eagles nest outside New Valarak.

They discover the Darkling Lords are using the spires for target practice and endangering the bird life too. They engage in combat and Cryotek almost single-handedly turns the odds in the Spectral Knights favor.

However, he is finally overcome and placed in the magical dungeon to be drained of his magic, but pulls a gloating Cravex in with him. He emerges with Cravex's totem and steals Cindarr's powerstaff as he flees.

Back in New Valarak the other's notice that Cryotek has become oddly boisterous while displaying hints of insanity and paranoia. He steals the Light Speed power staff and after Whitterquick and Galadria confront him he flees New Valarak in a rage.

The Spectral Knights pursue him and are joined by the Darkling Lords who wish to regain Cravex's totem and Cindarr's power staff. After narrowly avoiding destroying his kingdom of Northalia with Cindarr's power staff, Cryotek runs to Merklynn. There he recharges his staffs and asks for help.

But the struggle between Cravex's evil and his own good is becoming too much and he heads for Darkstorm's Castle to have revenge for threatening his kingdom of Northalia. Both Darkling Lords and Spectral Knights can hardly match him as he downs the Sky Claw and unleashes Cindarr's power of Destruction.

However, when a pillar is knocked over and nearly crushes Galadria he transforms to his animal totem and pushes her out the way. Momentarily regaining his senses, the Spectral Knights are able to restore him to normality in the Dagger Assault's magical dungeon. Together they escape Darkstorm's Castle, but not before smashing through a few walls on their way out.

Cryotek is apologetic that he is back to his boring self, but Galadria explains that she loves him just the way he is.
