All things with a givin mass bend Space a givin amount. You do, I do, the Sun does, The earth does. The side effect of this is gravity. If something has enough mass it can tear a hole in space, a black hole, for example does just that.
Now does light bend space? Yes here is why. E=MC^2 Just ignore the C^2 that was tacked on to make all the units work out right, and is not needed, as the guy said. E=M The amount of energy something has is equal to it's mass. There for Light can bend Space. Now Space and Time are intertwined to make the Space-Time Continum. Therefore if you spin the light around a single point you can tear space-time.
What happens to time if you tear a hole in space? Well you can go back to the time the hole was created, so the theory goes.
If you use lasers and fiber optic cable you can create a time machine and travel back to the point when you turned the lasers on. IE: You turn the lasers on before thanks-giving dinner. Eat then wait a year, assuming the power does not go out and the lasers remain on, before steping into the machine. You will instantly be at the exact point you turned the lasers on, before thanks-giving dinner.
Got it?
Good, now Problem 1 i dont use in my story...Photons (light) are mass-less thus they can not tear a hole. Click here to go back
