Bluetooth technology has come a long way to be one of the best choices for any device be it a bluetooth wireless network to someone with a bluethooth cellphone texting a friend. Now there is word going around saying where not safe anymore. A team from Flexilis and the ScreenSavers crew did what was never done before proving a hacker no longer has to be close to home to get your information. The test was done in an closed environment and notes where taken every step of the way.

Off the shelf items was bought and used for the test. First the LinkSys BT100 USB Bluetooth adaptor then a 19Dbi Panel Antenna which the crew made some simple hardware hacks. Once everthing was done they made a connection with a Nokia 6310i which was a distance of 1.08 miles away. Not only were they connected but they was able to get restricted data within the phone, send sms messages and make out going calls. All the items use for this test are listed here. . .
