Hello! Yes, I'm pretty excited! And our departure date is my BIRTHDAY! I graduated in '89 and have worked as an environmental and civil engineer ever since ... I'm very very ready to get away from this speed-of-light rat-race for a little while, and work at a more grassroots level. (I'm also VERY much looking forward to some serious horseback riding!!) I'll be teaching ESL, hopefully out in the hills!
well, first of all, good job Chris on the website..this is a great idea! I am very excited about coming to Mongolia and meeting all of you, but Im nervous about the weather.. I dont know about everyone else, but being a Floridian has warmed my blood, and low 60s sound pretty cold to me!! JK. I can take at least 50! ;)
hello all, looking forward to meeting all of you. if you like to converse before june, please drop me an e-mail at wesley.nguyen@business411.org. love to hear from you.
hello! ^^ hope to see you all soon...
Thanks for setting this up Chris - terrific idea! Can't wait to embark on my second Peace Corps assignment (I was evacuated from Uzbekistan after serving only 6 weeks last September). Right now I'm just doing some research at my old college and scouring the web for Mongolia-related sites!
Hi guys! I can't wait to meet everyone and start our adventure. It's been almost a year since I sent in my application, so I'm ready to go! The only thing is--the introduction to Mongolian tape has got me worried. See you soon!
I have to say this is a great idea Chris!!! Fabulous job on this sight!!! I'm pretty excited like everyone else. I feel like I'm jumping in head first going into the peace corps but this will be an awesome adventure. I'm excited to meet all of you. Cheers all!!!
So, is anyone bringing a baseball?
I'am a RN, Public Health and School background. Looking forward to riding, fishing and traveling. And especially becoming fluent in Khalkh. bayarlaa
So excited to find this site, I was doing so much searching on my own...thank you Chris! I am a regional vice pres. of a health care company, RN with education background, I have no idea what I'll be doing as yet. I love to cycle and have enjoyed many adventures on a bike. I lived in Turkey many years ago and enjoyed it immensely. I am presently retiring, and Peace Corps is the way I want to do it. I would love to hear from any of you and look forward to meeting you all. (Azbikerjan@AOL.com)
Hi everyone! I was evacuated from bangladesh last October, so Mongolia will be my second peace corps term...I'm extremely excited to meet all you guys and to be in Mongolia....my e-mail: gecono@mail2world.com Thanks for the site Chris!!
Hi guys! I can't believe we're leaving in just over a month! Packing aside, I'm stocking up on all the food I'm going to miss. I wonder if someday I'll miss mutton as much as I'll be missing Mexican food.
Botanist and avid backpacker. Looking forward to the mountains and a lower standard of living!! Can't wait to meet everyone!
Hello everyone! I enjoyed reading all of your tidbits. I, too, am excited about serving in Mongolia. I was nominated for a health position in Uzbekistan, which would have started in Jan., but clearly that changed. So now I am going to be joining you in Mongolia :-) Please feel to drop a line to me at clementinegal3@netscape.net
Currently I am passing the time as a semi-pro lie-about. Why semi-pro? It's really the endorsements that make the difference. As of now no endorsements, yet money seems to flow my way regardless. "Amateur" would be as misleading as "professional," so I settle with "semi-pro" lie-about. "Shiftless bum" is also a fairly accurate description. Anyway, I am looking forward to meeting you all. Peace out.
Nice to meet you guys. I'm sure we'll be sharing yaks milk and stories soon. The weather in the UK is pretty much mongolia just not the scenery! (out come the wooly socks again). Well enjoy the last few days of US sanity and sees ya soon.
I will be serving with my wife Betsy.
I will be serving with my husband Steven.
I very much look forward to the next two years in Mongolia with you folks!! See you all soon!
I think of you all often, my time in PC changed my gray cells. Can travel, interact, and enjoy anywhere now, and seek out as much travel as I can now. You must be all /or most parents now. Let me know how you are.
