General History: From what is known, Washu appeared at an orphanage on the planet Todain at around age 3, 20,000 years ago. All she had with her were three odd gems that were insanely powerful. Over the years, her intelligence grew dramatically, entering Jurai Royal Academy at about age 14. Very soon afterwards, she rose through the ranks, becoming a professor. She eventually married with a man with blonde hair, soon having a son with him. However, because of 'lineage and social status', he was forced to leave her, taking the child with him. There is some speculation that this child might be an ancestor of Mihoshi. Because of the trauma induced by this, Washu kept herself in a child form, as she hated the world of adults. Nevertheless, her intelligence increased, and she built a pseudospace lab, which she would use in the future. After defeating Dr. Clay in the election for Director of the academy, some years later she was abducted by one of her students, Kagato, and imprisoned by him. During this time, she designed Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki, her daughter and pet. Kagato used Ryoko against her will, saddening the red-haired genius. He kept her in a crystalline prison for a time, until Galaxy Police Officer Mihoshi Kuramitsu accidentally released her. She then lived in the Masaki home (where she does to this day) with the rest of the group, soon rebuilding her lab, and getting a family again, albeit one where she was still single.
Personality: Though she seems arrogant and egotistical on the outside, what with her frequent proclaiments of her high intelligence, Washu is a very kind and loving person, like the rest of the Masaki family. Though she enjoys any compliment given to her, she knows who she is, and knows her past well. Events such as the loss of her son and husband and the imprisonment by Kagato have given her great empathy for all people, making it almost impossible for her to be hostile. The memories of her son still linger on, and the arrival of baby Taro allowed her to express some long-withheld feelings, of both happiness and joy. After that, her empathy grew much stronger, such as when she allowed Zero to become one with Ryoko, as she understood her situation. She cares for all members of the Masaki family, especially Tenchi and Ryoko. Tenchi, being the only eligible bachelor in the house, has always garnered a special place in Washu's heart. Due to her mischievous spirit, she extracted 'samples' from him at least once, and seeing him undressed. She has some attraction to him, but it may or may not be sexual, probably more of a motherly emotional attraction. It is also academic, as his use of the lighthawk wings is new to her, and she wishes to incorporate that knowledge into her own. Ryoko, her daughter, though insensitive to her, is very close to her. Washu has a telepathic link with her, knowing her feelings for Tenchi while she was still imprisoned, and reading all of her thoughts. She also has preformed some experiments on her, but they were mostly for her own amusement, and only annoyed Ryoko. She also insists that she call her 'Mom'.
Other: Washu is one of the three goddesses, thus making her very powerful. She also does not lie about her intelligence.
