Subject: I have a Rot that needs a good home
I live in Plainfield, Illinois. Roxy is a female who needs a home that does not have any other dogs. She needs to be the one in charge and is very protective. She must always be on a leash and is very good with my two young children...I am skeptical of her meeting new children and usually put her in her crate. I brought her to an obedience trainer and he recommended I get rid of her because I have another rot and two young children. I can not put her to sleep and would love to get her into a great home where the owner and Roxy can enjoy each other. Please e-mail me back asap because I need to find somewhere that I can take her. Thanks so much.

rott mix needs home with large fenced yard
I have a very loving, 1 and a half year old rott mix that needs a home with a fenced yard or needs to be and inside farm dog. He is very smart and pretty and does many tricks. He is obedient and loving. He loves other dogs and cats. He needs more exercise than we are able to provide. He is an excellent dog and a great protector. He is also good with kids. He heals, comes when called, does tricks and does not run off. He has separation anxiety and a high level of energy. I thought I found him a good home but the people who adopted him are returning him because they said they are moving into a small apartment (I am upset that they did not think this through ahead of time). I would like to find him a permanent home where he can run safely around the yard to get out his energy and help his anxiety. Please e-mail me at tammit1971@earthlink.net or call 630-552-9050

Diamond is a three-year-old female who is neutered. Her personality is such that she loves the out doors and likes lots of attention all day. She is very playful and when she does not get the
attention she wants she has a tendency to act out. My job has variable hours and some days are long and some days are short. I feel that I am doing her a disservice because I can not give her all the attention she needs. Diamond lives in Chicago where the people are very afraid of her though she is a smaller size. I would really like to keep her, but I find myself keeping her contained until I return home just for monitoring. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Bdooley

This is a plea for help.... Our next door neighbors have an intact male Rottweiler approximately one year old that is being severly neglected. We have contacted our local Humane Society about him, only to
be told that they do not have the funds to do anything. We have contacted animal control and have not had any success. He did not have shelter for most of the winter and only received an old uninsulated house after our many complaints. He has been suffering from malnourishment for a good six months. When he is fed it is ravioli and beans. His area (he is on a six foot chain),is filthy with trash and feces and smells awful. He is forced to drink the water that is expeled from the washing machine via a hose out the back window. Now inspite of all of this, he seems to have a good temperament around women and children. Men, on the other hand, he is weary of which would lead me to believe that he has been mistreated by them. Please help him.... He is a good dog that deserves a better life. Thank you for your time. We ( my son and I)have a 2 1/2 year old female Rottweiler.. She is not neutered because my son was going to breed her. We have decided that she has potential for a much better life with someone else. We love her so much and it is going to hurt us all...Xena too, I'm sure...bu twe feel that the life she is leading is not an ideal one. We just don't have the time to give her and feel that she is being cheated. She is housebroken but we keep her outside most of the time because she likes to eat everything in sight and I have cats and another dog all little and she just glomps up their food all the time. She hasn't offered to eat the cats or dog! :) In fact she is very docile and has never shown any form of being agressive. She loes everyone...but does bark at rabbits and at night when she hears noise. We live in St. Charles, Illinois. Could you please help us? Thank you Patsy Kassner

Cujo is 1 1/2 years old. A very family oriented dog. I have a 2 month old
baby and three other small children. I do not have the time to care for a
dog. He is very good with the kids and the kids love him and it's going to
break their hearts to give him away, but my husband and I are
just too busy juggling work and the kids. If you can please find a nice home
for him quick, I'd really appreciate it. He's up to date with all his shots
and I have all his medical records on file. He is not neutered. Sheila V.

We have an intact male found in Illinois. We have had him for about a month. I have him on heartworm preventative and Frontline. He has had all of his shots, (including Giardia) except rabies, and has been dewormed. He is anywhere between 1 and 4. Very active. He is very sweet and does fine with my lab and pomeranian. I have no cats so I'm not sure about that. He seems to be VERY smart. Has learned to sit in a matter of days. Working on the other commands. His is, however, very food and toy aggressive. I have two young children and would like to find a homethat can train him and work with him. He's been starved and is still
under weight. I'm sure that is what has caused his problems. Robin Cagl

My name is Ana Momoli, and my husband and I own a pure breed 2 year old female rott, Samba. She's the sweetest dog I've ever had, extremely smart, fun and very gentle. We're both originally from Brazil, and my husband's company relocated us here to Chicago, permanently, or at least for a very long term. On these terms, we felt confident that we would be ok to have a dog, something that we both really missed from our childhoods. About a month ago we were told that he's needed on another overseas location. Over there we cannot afford a nice house with backyard for Samba to play like we can here; and we feel it is simply unfair for the dog to be confined in a small apartment. On top of this problem, we've been researching ways to get her there, and airlines don't fly animals between May 15 and Sept.15 due to hot weather. On cargo planes, she would have to be sent to a couple of locations like Dallas or Miami, and there await on a storage facility for a connecting plane and possible good weather. Upon arrival, she'd be quarantined for 40 to 60 days. That's just too much, it breaks my heart to think of my baby going through all this. I've been loosing my sleep trying to figure out a plan that's best for her, and I can't find a solution but to give her to adoption. I've been asking all our acquaintances here if anyone wants Samba, or knows someone that would like to keep her, but with no luck. Not even family members back in Brazil. Our problem is that since we've only been living here for less than 4 years, we don't know too many people, or at least people that could help us. I've called some rott rescues a couple of times but no one called me back, and I understand that in case the shelter is full they wouldn't call back, but I am really running out of ideas. What I ask of you is your help with any ideas for any possible solutions. My husband and I have come to terms with the fact that we might have to give Samba to adoption, and we also would like to ensure that she has her needs taken care off by offering financial support. Pls contact me, if not only to talk and help out with ideas. Thank you in advance. My sincerest regards Ana Momoli NO Contact info in email.

I was just in Chicago doing an antique show, and a friend allowed me to stay in a vacant duplex that he is selling. He allowed the former tenants to keep their 5 year old Rottweiler (male - do not know if he is neutered) in their former apartment in his building because their new place does not allow dogs. They are supposed to be looking for a new home for the dog but it has been almost 2 months, and the dog is there alone (being walked and fed) and my friend needs the dog to be re-homed so that he can place the duplex on the market.
His telephone number in Chicago is 773-735-6122 (His name is Steve Bezich.) Or you can email me back. Thanks,Patricia
