CONCLUSION! By examining George W. Bush's recent speech in terms of his use of Aristotle's rhetorical methods, it becomes apparent that rhetoric has passed the tests of time. The President's reliance on the use of logos, ethos, and pathos to persuade his audience that immediate is action against the Iraqi threat only porves their continued importance. By analyzing Bush's specific uses of each of these methods, it is apparent that while rhetoric has evolved throughout the ages, it is still a matter of using logos, ethos, and pathos to perusade an audience. Aristotle and Bush have more in common than people realize and for that reason the study of Aristotle's conception of rhetoric is important, relevant, and necessary in modern society.
