Introduction

It is both unique teaching tool for teachers to show clicking mouse and typing keyboard on screen under any complicated operation circumstance which may be broadcasted to students in a classroom by network or projector, and great onscreen keyboard for any person who prefer typing with point device such as mouse, tablet pen, touch screen, trace ball, and so on, rather than keyboard. As an onscreen keyboard program, it is different from other one that not only its functions are almost as same as device keyboard but also its surface can be replaced by customer to accord with the appearance of student's device keyboards in the classroom if he/she is a teacher. Furthermore, it can focus on any style edit field correctly.

System requirements
  1. Windows 9x/Windows Me Operating System;
  2. IBM compatible;
  3. Windows-compatible pointing device;
  4. True Color or HiColor display adapter and monitor, 800 X 600 pixels or above (recommended)

Note:
If your operating system is Windows 95, please install Microsoft DirectX.

Install/Uninstall
  1. Install: First,You must decompress the "InputShowV10.zip" to any temporary folder; Then, Simply run "Setup.exe" program and follow the prompts.
  2. Uninstall: You can choose to uninstall InputShow by choosing Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel and then choosing to remove InputShow.

  1. Program Menu: There is not window menu in InputShow. The program menu appears by right clicking InputShow's tray icon() on the rightdown screen. See below:

                               
To click the tray icon is one of way to show or hide virtual mouse.

  1. Using Virtual Mouse: If the virtual mouse is not showed, you can click "Show Virtual Mouse" item in program menu described above to show virtual mouse. Then a mouse pattern which is named virtual mouse will be appeared to left of current cursor (See below), and the item of program menu changed to "Hide Virtual Mouse". The virtual mouse is only showed in activation window. Its can represent clicking actions of computer mouse.

       No Button Down, Left Button Down, Right Button Down, Both Button Down

You can click the item of "Hide Virtual Mouse" on the program menu to hide virtual mouse.

  1. Optimize Virtual Mouse:
    This is a check menu item. It is recommended to check it unless the virtual mouse can not represent your point device actions.
  1. Using Virtual Keyboard:

(1)Show/Hide Virtual Keyboard: There are many way to show or hide virtual keyboard. One of all is To Click InputShow's icon on tray. Another way is accessing command item on the program menu. You can also click "Hide" command arer at virtual keyboard's top right corner to hide.

(2)Capability

  1. As a virtual keyboard,or onscreen keyboard, it's surface and functions is simulated actual keyboard device as same as possible so as to establish association between onscreen keyboard and actual keyboard for novice to learn. There are almost all of keyboard functions such as auto repeat, screen copy, combination of keys and so on. The simulation is Inputshow's first goal which is differ from other onscreen keyboard product.
  2. As same as virtual mouse, it may only show actions of actual keyboard device when teacher type keyboard.

(3)  Move Virtual Keyboard: The four sides of virtual keyboard is handle to move virtual keyboard. When cursor move in this area and the shape change to , it can be drag.

(4)  Usage of Ctrl, Shift and Alt: The action of these keys is different from other keys as onscreen keyboard. At first time clicking, it be pressed down and keep down state rendered deeper color, until second time clicking to release, so as to click another key to combine key type between the first and the second. 

  1. Run/Exit InputShow: It is as same as other applications to run Inputshow, but to exit you must click "Exit" item in program menu popuped by clicking tray icon as mentioned above.

Custom design of Virtual Keyboard

Nowadays,there are various type of keyboard device. To accord with environment of your classroom, you may custom your own virtual keyboard surface if you have ability of editting image. There is step by step listed below.

  1. Backup original files of Inputshow.
  2. To take a photograph of your keyboard and input it to computer via scanner or USB for digital camera.
  3. To select keyboard image from photograph with photograph editor software such as Photoshop and replaced the file named "keuboard.bmp" to Inputshow installing directory.
  4. Make of mask image with white foreground and black background based on keyboard.bmp file, replace to the file named "FKeyboard.bmp".
  5. Make of "Pressedkeyboard.bmp" image based on "keyboard.bmp" to replace the original "Pressedkeyboard.bmp" which every keys but "Enter" key be pressed down. To represent a pressed down key, you can select that key surface and move that surface somewhat so as to looked as if it is lower than original.
  6. Make of "Enter" key pressed down image to replace original "Enter.bmp" file.
  7. Make of Lock light image to replace original "LightOn.bmp" file if the original does not fit your keyboard image. 
  8. Open "DefKeyboard.ini" file with Notepad and modify the data representing every key position. The meaning of every data on the file is represented as below:
