Behavioral Programming Specialist

 

Part time and full time BPS needed for all shifts:  First shift is from 7:30am to 2:30pm, second shift is from 2:30pm to 10:30pm, and third shift is from 10:00pm to 8:00pm.  Hours are negotiable; persons willing to work weekends and holidays will receive special consideration.

 

This challenging and rewarding position involves working with autistic and developmentally delayed adults and children with severe problem behavior disorders.  Responsibilities include teaching adaptive skills such as self-care (showering, dressing, etc.), communication (sign language, verbal articulation), vocational skills, household management, and social skills with the use of applied behavioral analysis techniques. 

 

Extensive training provided:  students, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the field of psychology, education, speech therapy and communicative disorders, sociology, and medical disciplines such as physical therapy!  Check with your university; degree credit and internships are available!

 

Requirements:  High school diploma or GED preferred.  Pay range is between $6.00 and $7.00 an hour, with partial benefits, overtime rates, and merit raises for tenure and performance.
