PURPOSES To stimulate interest in plants and gardening, and to further horticultural knowledge in all phases; to encourage and promote civic beauty in the community.

ANNUAL DUES Are payable in April; delinquent after May 15.

MEETINGS Regular meetings of the Garden Club are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month, anuary through October (excluding July), at 12:45 p.m., Christ Episcopal Church, 1040 Border Road, Los Altos.

BYLAWS The bylaws of the Garden Club may be found in back of the directory.

PLANT SALES Plant Sales are held before the meetings in April and September. Sales begin at 11:30 in the lower lawn area. This is the biggest fund raiser for the club and also includes a back sale.

PLANT EXCHANGE The Garden Club, in co-operation with the City of Los Altos, organizes and operates an open-to-the-public plant exchange each April and September. Members staff the plant exchange and provide horticultural advice.

PLANT GIVEAWAY There is a giveaway of plants and garden items provided by both the club and the members at most meetings.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND A scholarship is awarded each year to the most deserving student at the Foothill Community College for study in the field of horticulture.

SOCIAL EVENTS A potluck salad luncheon is held in March to honor new officers. A tea is held in October to welcome new members.

STAMPS The club collects used postage stamps from the members; proceeds of their sale benefits the habitat, banding, care and preservation of the American Bald Eagle in California.

TOURS Each year local tours are arranged in places of interest to the members.

The club also has an annual tour of members' gardens as a fundraiser.
