Cycle desktop wallpaper
I made this a long time ago and cannot imagine life without it. Go to Devilsworld and download your favourite elite images, then download the file on the left. It is basically a batch file that renames all the images named in it so as to shuffle them up one. Set your desktop wallpaper to !Current.jpg and you will have a different wallpaper each time you boot if you put a shortcut to the batch. You will need to modify the batch according to the amount of images you have, email me if you get stuck. I could also send you a stack of images.
If, like me, you use NT (win2k in my case), you will need to run this on startup menu. For win95 you can just do a "CALL Cycle.bat" command from your autoexec files. The problem with shortcut usage is the files are renamed after your desktop is loaded, so if you hit refresh on the desktop, it changes to the correct one. Either need to set up somewhere in win2k to run the batch earlier during boot, or find a command (like rundll kernel.dll etc.) that will refresh the desktop at the end of the batch file.
Also, would be neat to have a random number generator in the batch to pick out an image at random and put it at !Current.jpg.

I have used this program for a while now, and it rules. It does IRC, ICQ, AIM and more in a single program that is far better than the aim or icq clients (icq client looks like it was made by kids). If you use more than one chat system, this is for you.

ZoneAlarm
This is a free local firewall and security program. Mostly it is useful for blocking some programs access to the internet, thus preventing them from sending stuff you don’t want them to.
WebWasher
This program operates a local proxy and filters incoming web pages. It ignores blatant advertising, and has filters to ignore specific size images that are adverts. You can change the options and make it more restrictive and it will kill popup's referer's cookies and more. As it filters stuff, it occasionally interferes with some java pages using funny code, just switch it off and refresh if you have a problem.

Well, this is just a program that cleans out your registry. Dunno link, just go on m$ page.

Worth getting addicted to. You play 6 players max per game on servers with multiple games with different settings. You can vary team usage just by entering team name same as someone else, 3x3, 2x2x2 or 5x1 if you want. You clear lines, clearing 2 lines adds 1 line to opponents, clear 3 adds 2, clear 4 adds 4. Also there are special blocks that appear, collect em up and use em on friends or foe to assist or injure. Watch out for block bombs. Try the server tetrinet.nu as it is easy to connect to.
