2ND MEETING FOR CLASS OF 91-92 CLASS REUNION

Back to Main Page

Welcome:  06-10-02

Reason for Meeting:

(1)    Decide on event(s)

Over the last week we have received some response but not enough to consider a formal dance.  As for now we are moving forward with having an extremely nice Cookout!  If the demand for a formal increases over the next couple of weeks, and if there is someone willing to plan it, we will vote on it at our 4th meeting (June 24th).  As for now, we will make plans to meet at homecoming 2002, go out to dinner/party after the football game, then wake up to the best cookout of the century on the following day!

What?    Homecoming 2002  & Reunion Cookout

When?   October 4th, and 5th

Where?  Adams Stadium (time T.B.D.)  & Piedmont Park (cook-out)

We have formally invited the class of 91.  I have received e-mails from a handful of them.  Until someone steps up and volunteer to be responsible for contacting the rest of those not reached by Classmates.com we will continue planning ours with an open invitation for them to join.  Due to monetary obligations we will have to set an R.S.V.P. date for everyone and keep record of those who have paid their “Reunion Dues” to be fair.   Open Suggestions….

Anyone who R.S.V.P. and pays their dues will be included in the reunion no matter their class!

R.S.V.P.  Date T.B.D. @  JUNE 24TH 2002

Determine Reunion Dues

In all fairness we need to determine reunion dues by the next meeting (June 17th).  In order to do so effectively we will need to spend this week gathering quotes on how much it’s going to cost to have the type of event that we want.  Included, but not limited to; Venue reservation cost, entertainment, food, games, events, program printing fees, and others! To determine fees we will subtract the targeted sponsorship amount from the Estimated Total Cost then divide the difference by the total amount of projected attendees.  A bank account for 2002 CROSS KEY REUNION FUND will be opened immediately!

Open Suggestions:

We will determine dues by the end of the month once we have a better idea of the Total Cost and the amount of people planning to attend.  You can help by replying to this e-mail with “I do or I do not “ plan to attend the reunion.

(2)    Elect a committee

It has been quite difficult finding people to share the responsibility of Chairmen.  Although we have contacted about a 3rd of our class, we have yet to fill our chairmen positions.  Please take advantage of an effort to have an equally reflective board of our class (es) and commit to being the voice of your classmates. There are 3 chairmen positions available, and while we would like to have a female, Hispanic, and Asian representative we are pretty much going on a first commit basis right now.   It is required that all chairmen attend every weekly meeting and work diligently to fulfill your self-chosen obligations.  In all fairness to the class of 91, we have open 3 chairmen positions.

(4) Join a Committees:  THOSE OF YOU WANT TO HELP!!!

The committees are sub group that will be responsible for doing all the work to make the events happen.  In order to do so effectively, we need to form committees and task forces that will be responsible for each of the following Task;

CLASSMATE  FINDER –obtain a list of everyone that graduated in your class and get information on how to contact each of them.  NO EXCUSES.  You will also be responsible for finding contact information on former faculty members that we choose to invite to join us.  In the event that any of our classmates have passed we will need to have a memorial on their behalf(s).   Contact Chis Garner to volunteer

SPONSORSHIP FORCE – seek sponsorship from business to donate money for the class reunion.  Local Business in Northeast Plaza would be a good target.  Businesses we supported while in high school and past and present employers are other good sponsor candidates.   The more money raised from sponsorship, the less out of pocket cost we

OPEN DISCUSION:  Contact Gene Toodle to volunteer

CONTACT PERSON (S) – someone easily accessible that can be reached by a large number of our classmates via e-mail, phone, or in person to keep our class updated with important information discussed at meetings. Chris and Myself have agreed to be the contact people.  If someone from the class of 91 would like to be a contact person for your class, feel free to do so. We will add your name to the web page to contact!

91 Contact Person   Isaac Lee

PLANNERS – obtain location of venues for access with availability dates. Secure D.J. for music, create menu for events, responsible for decorations, decide on activities, i.e. face painting, 91 vs. 92 softball game, volleyball, moonwalker, raffle, etc.)  Contact Nicole McBrayer, Carlos Lavender, or Michelle Germany (Fields) to volunteer

MEMORABILIA – create a program of 2002-class reunion complete with names, pictures, and contact information and announcements. Obtain quotes on tokens to remember the event, (i.e. t-shirts, key chains, hats, video tapes, etc.) which will later by determined from our budget by the board. Contact Victor Ponce to volunteer

Set weekly Meeting Schedule!

MONDAYS @ 8:00PM  (DOWNTOWN VARSITY)

Please make plans to attend!  No excuses!  I think we all have jobs and/or families that make it difficult to attend but with a little bit of planning ahead making these meetings are possible.  Especially our class officers!

We need a minimum of 3 to 4 people to help out with each of the above task!  Each Chairman will commit to overseeing one or more of the above task and must be present at EVERY meeting.

Please contact the corresponding boardmembers to  volunteer your services.   The more money we raise…the less we have to spend out of pocket!

PLEASE FORWARD ALL CONTACT INFO OF CLASSMATES NOT REGISTERED ON CLASSMATES.COM TO ONE OF THE ABOVE CHAIRMEN.  -Thanks
