Telling Time Bingo

I chose this lesson because it was fun to create and do in class. The students loved playing the game and it helped them with telling time. I made it simple and used hours and half hours. I was teaching first grade at the time and they had just covered time and I wanted to reward them with a fun game. Of course I helped them out at times, but they did fairly well.  I gave crayons, pencils, erasers, and scissors for prizes. Most of them needed these supplies. I did rig the game for people to win at times (they all won that is why) and who received what supplies. I bought the supplies based on who needed what. But hey they are first graders and did not know that I did that. They just enjoyed the game and the prizes! Things we do for our students!

These are the materials needed to make this lesson w/ a brief description:

Telling Time Cards Pre-done

I printed off 4 of each card. So I would have 4 winners at a time. I had a class of 20 or less. I also glued them to construction paper (hint I did the the five cards in 5 different colors) I had 4 winners so those cards were all the same color. Ex: 4 red cards, 4 blue cards, 4 green, etc... I had them in groups so no one sat next to someone with the same color. I laminated the cards so I could always reuse the

I printed off 24 of these and drew in the hands myself. I also glued them to construction paper and laminated them to protect them.  On the half hour cards I drew dashed lines through the border of the clock to help the students in determining where to find the hour. I told them to look at the number that comes before the dashed line.
