Using a computer for Language Arts

I chose this lesson because it showed students how to do basic operations in Microsoft Office. More and more students are having to type reports for their classes and they need to know how to do some basic operations on the computer. I did this for a CTAP level 1 class, in 2002 and I have used parts of this lesson for other classes I have taught. I feel it is important for young students to learn these basic tasks early so when they reach the intermediate and high school ages they will already know what to do. I liked this lesson because of the graphics that were used to help guide the students through the processes.

You will find a link of extra handouts for students to use with a wide variety of programs. I only included about 13 pages of them. I have a whole binder full of handouts. I just wanted to show the variety of ways I teach computers to students and even adults.

Important Note: Anything that is opened with acrobat reader (PDF File) might receive an error message about it might not work properly and that is because I am using the newest version of acrobat reader and it is the professional version. There should be no problems, so please disregard that error message. Thank you.
