The next morning I wake up voluntarily at about 12:00 in the afternoon. It really feels good to be sleeping in my own bed again. I drag my lazy ass outta bed and into the kitchen only to find Jade sitting at the table, wide-awake and fully dressed.
“Jady, what the hell are you doing up so early?” I moan, grabbing a box of strawberry pop tarts out of the pantry.
“I had to get ready for Mark!” she says, stealing a pop tart from me. “Alicia, we’ve been best friends for a really long time, right?”
“Forever,” I say, raising my eyebrows curiously. “What’s that got to do with anything?”
“If I asked you for a favour, would you do it?”
I sigh playfully. “You want me to photograph Mark with no shirt on and give you some of the pictures, am I right?”
She jumps out of the chair and gets on her knees at my feet. “Please, please, please! I’ll never steal your clothes again, I swear!”
“Girl, you’re grovelling,” I laugh, pulling her to her feet. “Fine, I’ll do it. But only for the perpetual bliss of my dear best friend, Jade Greene.”
“Yay!” she shrieks, wrapping me in a big hug.
“Jade, chill! You’ve got a boyfriend, need I remind you? Besides, if you don’t let go of me I can’t go get ready. And if I can’t go get ready we are going to be late. And if we show up late Mark is probably going to leave!”
She immediately lets go and shoos me off to the shower.
“Well, here we are. My second home,” I say, nodding towards the huge building in front of us. “We are about to embark on an unprecedented adventure. Two girls, eight AMAZINGLY hot slash sexy guys, and the whole building all to ourselves. Hey, I’ve even got cameras!”
We turn to each other, grab hands and jump up and down. “We gonna get some, we gonna get some!” we chant, jumping around in circles and doing a funny dance.
“Think any of them are here yet?” she asks.
“Jady, Jady, Jady? How could they get in without… this?” I say, producing a set of keys from my pocket. We rush to the door and shove the key in the keyhole at about the same time the first limo pulls up. We open the door and are immediately attacked by the extremely hot temperatures. There’s a note attached on the inside of the door.
Sorry ‘bout the heat. AC blew up yesterday, and we’re still trying to get someone to come out and fix it. No luck yet. Oh well, this makes for some hot n sweaty guys. Just how you like ‘em, Al. Well, I must be going. Thanx a ton!
Ash
P.S. I left a surprise for you in my desk... 2nd drawer…
Jade reads the note over my shoulder and giggles, “Aaron blew up here? Yuk.”
“Huh?”
“AC, Aaron Carter?”
“You’re weird,” I give her a look and shove the note into my pocket.
“I’m guessing one of you is Alicia McNamara, right?”
We turn to see a delicious looking Paul Walker step out of his limo and make his way over to us.
“Catch me, I’m gonna faint!” I whisper as he takes his sunglasses off. In my dreamy state, everything seems to be flowing in slow motion. “I… I’m…” I’m too flushed to even remember my own name so I just give up. “Yeah, that’s me.”
“Delighted,” he takes my hand and gives it a small peck with those gorgeous silky lips.
“And you are?” he turns to Jade.
“I’m Greene. Jade. Jade Greene,” she says, breathing heavily as he also gives her hand a shake and a kiss.
“I see I’m the first to arrive,” he says, looking around at the deserted parking lot.
Shaking all the sexual thoughts out of my head I nod and smile sweetly, “Yes, you are actually.”
We lead him into the lobby, and he immediately takes off his coat.
“Whew, it’s warm in here. But I think it must be you two,” he says, giving us a sexy half smile. We both giggle, and take turns blushing.
“If you need something to drink there are some vending machines in that room over there. Not exactly five-star treatment, but if you need anything at all don’t hesitate to ask us, all right?” He nods, and thanks us, heading off into the refreshment area. “Oh God!” I whisper loudly.
“I don’t even think I’m going to be able to handle it when Mark Wahlberg or Josh Hartnett walks through these doors!”
“Tell me about it!” I wipe a bit of sweat off my forehead. “You know what? I want to see what Ashton left me in his desk! Let’s go.” I grab her arm and we rush into the next room – his office. I pick out another key on my key ring and unlock the second drawer. “But… there’s nothing in here,” I say, confused.
“Maybe he meant second drawer on the left, not the right,” Jade speaks up, hopefully. I slap my forehead.
“Duh, Ali!” I rip open the drawer and Jade and I burst into hysterics when we see its contents. Eight boxes of condoms. One of them has a note attached.
Cherry-flavoured, chocolate-flavoured, strawberry-flavoured, margarita-flavoured, black-cherry-flavoured, green glow-in-the-dark, orange glow-in-the-dark, and black light reactant. I figured you could just let your men fight over which ever they want. Don’t worry… I got the biggest sizes. (Hint: The glow-in-the-darks are for the dark room, Ali.)
Have a nice day!
“I’m beginning to like this Ashton guy!” Jade laughs, picking up the margarita-flavoured box and examining it.
“He’s crazy!” I start to say, but another voice interrupts me. A nice, deep, Australian voice.
“Ali!” Jade whispers, and I nudge her to shut her up.
“Excuse me?” he asks again.
I slowly turn around, my heart completely melting.
“I’m in love,” I whisper, and make my way over to the one and only Heath Andrew Ledger. “Oh my god. It’s like, the biggest honour to meet you!” I say, seriously trying not to scream.
“Well, you must be my photographer. It’s quite an honour to meet you, too,” he says, pulling me in for a quick hug. “And…is this another photographer?” he asks, looking over my shoulder to Jade who’s looking very excited for me.
“No, just a friend. Heath Ledger, meet Jade Greene. Jade, this is Heath.”
“How do you do?”
“Very well,” she says, winking at me.
“Well, I’ve got all day and you’re the director. Where do you want me?” he asks, wrapping an arm around me.
“In my bed?” I mutter, and Jade’s eyes widen.
“What was that?” Heath asks, a grin creeping onto his face.
“In there with Ed!” I lie, pointing to the main set. “Ed is my…uh…hairdresser! Go right through there and he’ll get you set up, aight?”
“All right,” he walks into the direction I tell him, and I completely try to resist pinching his ass. Jade notices and giggles. Her laughter snaps me back into reality.
“Oh Jade! There is no Ed!” I cry, slumping into Ashton’s chair.
“Huh?”
“I forgot to schedule the hairdresser, make-up artist, and wardrobe! I’m screwed!”
“Oh, god, Ali. I’m sorry,” she sympathises, putting a comforting hand on my shoulder as I cover my face with my own hands. “What are you gonna do?” she asks. I slowly put my hands back in my lap and look up at her, an evil gleam in my eye and a sly grin on my face. Noticing my sudden change of mood she immediately jumps three feet away from me. She stands there, hands firmly placed on her hips, shaking her head vigorously from side to side. “Nuh uh, NO WAY! You got yourself into the mess, you get yourself out!”
“But I NEED an assistant! I can’t do this by myself!” I beg, pulling on Jade and getting down onto my knees.
“Alicia! I can’t do make-up on guys! And if you make me pick out their wardrobe I promise you all of those guys will end up butt naked!” she states.
“So?! At least it’s a start! Please! I’ve never asked you for anything-”
“Yeah, because if you want something you just take it!” she ignores my pleas and pretends to file her nails.
I throw my whole body on the floor and bang my fists against the ground, “Please, please, please, please, please-”
“FINE! Just get your ass off the floor before one of the guys comes in here and you make a fool of yourself!”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I owe you a MILLION!”
“Oh, you have NO idea,” she threatens.
“Umm, excuse me, Ali. May I call you Ali?” Heath asks politely, wandering back into Ashton’s office.
“Of course, all my friends do. But you can call me anything you’d like.”
He smiles, “Then I’ll call you Al, Al.”
I smile but my stomach churns. Obviously, he picks the one thing Nick calls me! “Is there a problem?”
“Yes, actually. There’s nobody back there.”
I pretend to be confused. “Ahh, he must not be here yet. Well, why don’t you just go into the lounge and we’ll be with you in a minute. Paul Walker is in there already.”
“Paul? Great guy,” he flashes a pearly smile and heads off into the lounge.
“Oh, that accent!”
“Well, now no assistant ain’t your only problem,” Jade says, her gaze focused on the wall behind me.
“Then what is?”
“Two limos just pulled up outside.”
I pivot around and run to the windows. Sure enough, out comes Mark Wahlberg in one, Josh Hartnett in the other.
“Think you can handle them, while I go check on Heath and Paul?”
She nods vigorously, pushing me into the lounge, obviously more than ready to get Josh and Mark alone.
“Hi, guys!” I greet happily, walking casually into the refreshment room. Both guys stand up politely and I join them at one of the tables. “Is there anything I can get you?” I ask them, ready to give them WHATEVER they ask for.
“Well, that’s simple. All we need is your company,” Heath replies.
“Absolutely. Is there anything WE can get YOU?” Paul offers, flirting a little.
“Meeting you two has been more than enough. I’m a huge fan of both of you. 10 Things I Hate About You and The Skulls are two of my favourite movies!” I compliment.
“Why, thank you,” Heath replies.
“Yeah, thanks. I guess you know Joshua Jackson will be here, too.”
“Are you guys friends?” I question.
“The best!”
“That’s actually pretty funny,” Heath chuckles.
“What?” ask Paul and I, in unison.
“I heard Ryan Phillippe is to be here today, also!” he laughs a bit harder, Paul now joining in.
“What’s so funny?” I ask.
“Well, ever since Cruel Intentions they’ve pretty much had it out for each other. Ryan beat Josh in the lead, and that really pissed Josh off. Ryan continually rubbed it in his nose, so Josh slept with Reese! Big trauma there!” Paul explains, leaving me in hysterics and Heath with tears.
“That WAS quite funny,” Heath pipes in.
“I had no idea.”
“It’s true!”
