“Okay, shall we?” Nick slurs, standing up. He loses his balance for a moment, but then reaches for my hand. Still in shock, I giggle and stand up to follow him to my room. When we get inside, he runs to my bed and jumps on it.
“Hey! That’s a waterbed! Be careful!” I say, my voice thick from the alcohol.
He just laughs and pulls me down with him. He pulls my lips to his and kisses me forcefully. I kiss back, slowly sliding my tongue over his bottom lip, then nibbling at it. He moans into my mouth and returns the gesture. His hands run over my back, and then rest at my waist as he pulls me closer to him. I wrap my arms around his neck, and deepen the kiss. My hands play with his hair as his fingers slide up my shirt. The kiss was over way too fast for me, because all of a sudden AJ, Jade, and Brian walk into the room to tell me that our time is up.
“Come on in!” yells AJ in the manner of one of those boat-hirers. “Your time is up.”
We get off the bed, and follow the others into the living room.
“Alright,” Nick begins as we all find our places on the floor, couch, etc. “Since we can’t leave Brian out…”
Brian nods seriously as we all laugh.
I notice Jade giggling, and Brian turns to smile at her. I feel a twinge of jealousy. What’s up with this? It seems like every time Jade likes a guy I like him too!
Nick continues, “This next dare is for him. Brian… I dare you to… ahh hell, I don’t know. AJ think of something for him.”
AJ thinks for a while. “I dare you to get wit Jade.” He didn’t think there was any danger of sweet lil Brian taking Jade away from him. Nick was the problem here.
“That’s it? The same thing you had me do to Ali?” Nick asks, bewildered.
“Nah, this is more kinky. They gotta do it in front of everyone.”
Nick rolls his eyes.
“Fine with me,” Brian and Jade say simultaneously, and then share a smile.
Again I get the same jealous feeling. I don’t understand this, I thought I liked Nick. Then again, when I had hugged Brian at the door, he had just been so warm, and he smelt so good. No way, he’d never be interested in me. I sigh and lower my head, not wanting to see them making out before me.
“I’ll be clocking ya,” AJ says.
I down my drink and shrug. “Whatever.”
I slowly crawl over to Brian and take his empty glass out of his hands. He looks at me with his sky blue eyes and I reach up to touch his hair to see if it’s as soft as it looks. It is. He touches my face and our lips meet. Brian wraps his arms around me and deepens the kiss – slipping his tongue around mine. He tastes of lime and tequila and warmth. I vaguely hear AJ counting down the last seconds and we jump apart as a cushion hits us. Brian shoots Nick a glare for spoiling the moment and Nick scowls back.
AJ wolf-whistles but his eyes are dead. “Enjoy that guys?”
Jade moves away from Brian and wipes the lipstick off his mouth with a giggle.
He smiles and licks his lips. “Smokin’!” he says excitedly in his best Jim Carrey impression as he busts up with laughter.
“Wow, we really need to get Howie and Kevin over here,” Nick says, simply.
“Why is that?” asks Jade.
“Duh, so then you can go through all of us, because that seems to be your goal for tonight,” he adds, rather pissed.
“She’s not a slut, Nick,” I defend.
He rolls his eyes, and leans back against the couch.
Before I can respond to Nick’s comment, AJ jumps in.
“Let’s call it quits. It’s kinda dull with only five of us.”
I smile in relief. “Yeah.”
Nick folds his arms. “Sure you don’t want to make out with AJ before callin’ it quits Jade? And then I could call Howie and Kevin and you’d have the full set.”
I stare at him angrily. “Hey, why not?”
AJ stands up. “Tempting as that sounds, I think we need to leave now.”
Brian nods and stands up. “Yeah, I’m pretty whacked.”
Nick shrugs, never taking his eyes off me. “I’m fine.”
AJ pulls him up. “Nick, we’re goin’.”
Ali and I follow them to the door where AJ hugs us both. “Thanks, it was good.” He keeps hold of my arm and whispers in my ear, “Next time you knock back the spirits, make it just you and me.”
In spite of myself, I giggle. “Sure.”
Ali shoots me an odd look. “I’ll give you a call ‘bout that club.”
AJ smiles at her. “Sure.”
Brian grins at us both. “It was good to meet.”
Ali gives him a quick hug. “You too.”
He smiles and steps towards me but then changes his mind at the last minute. I am kinda glad really. I’m just totally confused. I guess that comes from kissing two guys within one hour and having feelings for them both. Nick makes a big show out of hugging Ali and then walks away without even acknowledging me. I pull a face at his retreating back as Ali shuts the door.
“Oh boy, Ali. Just when I was startin’ to think Nick was an ok guy after all…”
She follows me back into the lounge. “I know. He reacted kinda weirdly.”
“Exactly. I mean you guys kissed too. Why is it so bad for me to kiss two guys but it’s ok for him to kiss two girls?”
Ali shrugs. “He’s a guy. They don’t make sense.”
I laugh and then look at her slyly. “C’mon… You know you want to…”
She tries to act innocent but it’s too much for her. “Oh Jade, it was heaven. Nick Carter kissing ME on my waterbed… Ooooh,” she shivers and I laugh.
