Today Show

Today Show

This was a bad day turned good.

Amanda and I got to the Today show late (Thanks... MOM!!) and it was pouring rain. We were so far away from Davids stage, we could barely see him at all. Nasty old ladies who were there to see Katie Couric (or whoever the hell she is) were really mean to the Bowie fans. It sucked.

Amanda and I were happy just to be there, however, and hear David. Hundreds of feet from the stage, we proudly displayed the glittery poster we had made that read, "HALLO SPACEBOY! WE LOVE YOU!" When David left the stage after the show, we decided to just leave. :-(

As we walked past the NBC building, Amanda and I looked up from our saddness to see our idol... Davids bassist, Gail Anne Dorsey!

We both yelled "Gail!" and she looked at us. In utter disbelief and happiness, we then both yelled "We love you!" at her. She seemed really nice and happy, said hello, and was GOING to pose with us for a picture, but the guards started to shove her into the car.

I desperatley tried to get a pic of her, but she was crammed into her car before I could get my camera. DAMN!

So then I quickly met Earl Slick and Gerry Leonard as they walked out. It dawned on me and Amanda that David would most likely be coming out of the building soon as well. Our suspicions were encouraged when his car pulled up next to the building. (If you ever see a black car in NYC with the license plate 'Davel', run after it.)

We anxiously waited for him and noticed many people running around the area (eh hehehe... AREA) in blue wigs. We thought that was odd.

Then, a kind of tall slender man with a blue wig and big sunglasses on came walking just inches away from me. I thought he was a bit strange, and watched as he bumped into my mom. He then proceeded to apologize to her.... in DAVIDS VOICE!

It slowly, slowly dawned on me and Amanda that this man was David... it actually didn't get through my stubborn skull that it was him until a woman shouted, "Its David!" ... but it was too late, he was already in the car.

Talk about another "DAMNIT" moment.

It was so exciting and cool though. It took hours for me and Amanda to recover and begin to function again.

We're still not fully recovered. We think Gail is our best friend. I feel sorry for us.

Now, THATS an adventure! Hope you like the pics!

Small one snapped by Amanda.

Ok... look toward the right and you can see the very top of his head! YAY!

In the next few pics, he's an unrecognizable reddish blob - ENJOY!

This was the most awesome puppet ever! What I would do to have it!!!

Same crazy, hillarious Angie girl from the Roseland concert. "If you don't put down your umbrellas, you won't know that its NOT RAINING!!"

"Jareth! Orange haired man! Mullet guy! Labyrinth dude!" (some of the things we yelled to try to get this mans attention to take his pic)

One of the pics of Earl slick that I took - before I TOUCHED HIS SHOULDER!!! He talked to me too. *proud*

Davids guitarist, Gerry.

Amanda, happy after the Today show.
