What an exciting litter this was to kick us off with. There were 10pups in total, 5 males & 5 females. MALES; 2 red merles, 1 Fawn, 1 Dilute Black Merle, 1 Chocolate Merle (exported to NZ) FEMALES; 1 solid chocolate, 2 Blue Merles, 1 Dilute Merle, 1 Dilute Balck solid.
RED X SHAY (solid red X blue merle carrying red)
This litter is eagerly awaited as we expect exceptional results due to both the physical & working qualities of the parents but also the influence of the grandparents. RED is a solid red from a Red Merle to Red Merle (both heterzygous) mating, he has our preferred conformation with good frame, leg length & pricked ears. He is a mature sensible worker that is easy to work, loyal & kind natured & very dignified. SHAY is from a Red Merle X Tri Merle mating where a large portion of the pups were either red merle or majority solid with minimal merling however due to her lineage to our knowledge being mostly if not all merle to merle matings we have a gut feeling that she will throw double merle pups to a merle male so we have chosen to go back to solid to prevent this. We hope to 'settle' the colours down in this line by focussing on strong reds & chocolates. Shay also had the conformation we prefer however we wish to get more height in the pups therefore Red will have an excellent effect in doing this we hope. Shay has a good frame, thick strong legs & pricked ears. She has a very professional work ethic, is a reliable dog to control & multi-task with & she is capable of working a variety of stock in a variety of methods.
