Objective- The main objective I had for the first day was to get aquainted. My student, Nick, and I also worked on scheduling. The feedback was positive, although my student's "pie of life" will not change much.

Objective- Nick and I worked on Mnemonic Devices and how we can both apply them to our classes. This week was easier because I knew my student better.

Objective- I used this time period as a refresher day just to gauge how much Nick was actually listening, which is even better than verbal feedback. I was really pleased how much he retained. We spent the last few minutes discussing current study habits and how they differ from the ideal.

Objective- SQ4R. Nick already knew about the SQ4R system, which was more than I could say for myself before I began this class. Mostly today was review for him, but it was good for myself to learn his take on the system. I think that Nick enjoyed knowing enough about a topic to help me to understand it better.

Objective- We worked on using context clues together. This section was extremely helpful, especially when I brought some sample words and sentences to decode. Nick knew what context clues were, but neither of us had had any practice actually using these skills.

Objective- Today Nick and I went over the meaning of active learning and its processes. I don't think this section was very interesting to him, but I still think it was necessary to be aware of it.

Objective- Test taking was the primary goal of today's lesson. It helped me a lot, so I knew it would help Nick. The section talked about the three main types of tests and to understand how to respond to them.

Objective- Educated guessing was jumping a bit forward, but I felt it would be beneficial. Learning how to use educated guessing was the best thing I ever learned in high school, and Nick felt it was necessary to be taught.

Objective- The service learning project is coming to a close very quickly. This day was just used as a much needed study block.
