Was Oda-sensee channeling the spirit of Cosimo when he drew Loguetown?  Check out pages 116 and 148 in Vol. 11- it's El Duomo and the tower of the Medici Palace on the left and right respectively.



Whiskey Peak -

Whiskey Peak was designed by a sea-faring, architecturally adept clan of Hopi Indians.  True.




Rainbase -

The Town of Dreams...and gambling...and giant pyramid casinos!  Here we have the Luxor hotel in Vegas.  Add a CG crocodile head on the top and voila! we have Croc's headquarters.  Not far from Las Vegas is the Hoover Dam - a perfect storage facility for the banana crocodiles that will be shipped in from Zimbabwe.





Spider's Caf・

Oda-sensee replied in an SBS that he used the movie, Baghdad Caf・lt;/I>, as inspiration for Spider's Caf・  Well, Baghdad Caf・was filmed here, at Sidewinder's Caf・on Route 66 in California.  Location: Check!





Sky Island -

Sky Island has scary Mayan ruins and restless natives - could it be any other place than the Chiapas region of Mexico?  No way! 





Alubana -

Shots of the Vivi's palace in the capital of Alabasta can be taken here - but is it Istanbul or Constantinople?  That's nobody's business but the Turks.
