Music: T Rex ~ Get It On

Problem Of The Week: I have a brother who does a right-on impression of Tim Curry in the Rocky Horror Show. Should I be worried? Maybe I should write to Dr. Miriam...

Word Of The Week: Doggone. I love this word. I just wish I could say it without sounding like an eejit. I love it in "Darlin'" where they sing "...'cause you're too doggone outta sight..." Also, I wish I could say "outta sight" without sounding equally weird. *coughs* I've just about mastered "cosmic" and I think "groovy" might work. As in- "you look like you're both pretty... groovy." Man, I love that film. *grins* You have no idea what I'm talking about now, I guess.

Achievement Of The Week: I can play the basic bones of "I Think I Smell A Rat" and the riff from "Layla". Yay me. ;)

Music: Supergrass ~ Run

You know what Chelsea should do? Instead of buying all these mediocre players (i.e Damien Duff) for extortionate amounts, they should pool some of their new millions and drag clubs like Oldham Athletic back from the brink of extinction. The divide is just way too stupid now. Every time a club gets demoted, they almost go out of business.

Anyway, only 22 days until the new season starts now. Stoke City, here we come (well, technically, they come to us, and we *hopefully* thrash them... but I have to be diplomatic, because a friend of mine is a diehard Stoke fan, and we have to play fair!!)

And, also, I'd like to say I've very proud of my fishing hat. I don't care what anyone says!

The Darkness should be crowned the new kings of British music (God knows, we need something more than the 'Phonics, who are sadly looking very washed up these days)... welcome back, stadium rock. =D Seriously, they're fantastic! I'm sick of hearing whingey blokes go on about clocks and stuff (yes, Coldplay, I know as an NME reader I'm supposed to worship at their feet, but really, I can't see what the fuss is about.) Actually, I'm sick of reading about bands I "have to" hear (viz: The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc etc), and them turning out to be... well, not even bad, just normal, and that's even crappier. Either be shite or fantastic but don't be middling, that's just boring... ;)

Music: Matchbox 20 ~ If You're Gone

Discovery 1: It's the 7th, not the 8th. Discovery 2: MSN checkers is rather addictive. Discovery 3: Whenever I get here I have nada to say. Even though I can't actually stop thinking normally. I figured out that's the only reason I write, it stops me developing a split personality. Well, almost. Having all this time (oops, shouldn't have said that, will now be shoehorned into REAL work) means I get to write more, which I guess is good when you're me and bad if you gotta read some of the crap I come out with. Anyway... self esteem radar...

Ah, I give up. I'm being thrashed at checkers and I'm a bad loser.

Music: The Thrills ~ Santa Cruz (You're Not That Far)

The version of that song is a different one to the one I got today... I bought their album and it's rather good. If you like the kind of West Coast stuff that came out the 60s, then go buy it! *watches no one do so* Ah, never mind. =p

That was a really lame plug, wasn't it? Coz I have nothing else to say! lol. I might come back this way later.

Then again, maybe not.

Music: White Stripes ~ Fell In Love With A Girl

Ah, procrastination. Ain't it the life. Haha. ;) *is currently singing far too loudly to the Stripes, sure to be cut off at any second...* I wanted to see the Stripes at the Leeds Festival, by the by, and the bloody thing sold out! *cries* All I wanna do is go to a festival and not bathe for a couple of days, where's the harm?! Someone's conspiring against me, I swear...

Went to see Dumb & Dumberer last week- note to anyone- do not see this film... or, if you insist on doing so, like when SOMEONE (erm, that was me, dammit) reads all the cinema times wrong and... yeah, well, anyway. The short version is we ended up seeing the D&D film, and it was utter shite, pretty much, so lets just be glad it was cheap Tuesday, and Yodes had her fun with the kids behind. "Will you just fucking shut up!!!"

So, now I've done my exams I have a big pile of nothing to do. Except, I have a ton of letters to catch up on, and Harry Potter to read (heeheeheeheee... I'm almost finished, really, which is kind of sad, but I still have some way to go yet.) Incidentally, I'm a Ravenclaw, on the HP website... and it took me ages to get to be one! (Guess I'm just not that smart.) I didn't want to be Gryffindor... been done. Lol. I'm starting to like Hermione more than in the other books. So, yeah, I have Harry Potter fever. =D And this bit of my waffle was meant to be about having things to do... oh, yeah, I have some houseclearing to do- as well as helping my dad, I gotta help sort some other shit out for something else, which means next Sunday I gotta drag my arse out of bed waaaay early to do a car boot sale. Why I volunteer is beyond me. I think maybe my mum has some kind of hypnotherapy going on. On the upside, I can finally dispose of the hideously embarrassing cheesy-pop CDs I have in my collection... goodbye, Five. All the reminders of the Sheep Year sold for like 10 pence each. I feel so much cleaner (or I will do, hoping some nutter buys 'em.)

Is it wrong to find cartoon characters attractive?

Fianlly, there's a writing competition going on at The Captured Muse which you should go and check out, 1000-1500 words fic centred around a treehouse. *nods* Shameless plug but there you go. =p

Final note... new band on my "yay them" list: Teenage Fanclub!

Music: Yellowcard ~ For Pete's Sake

*sings* Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me... Okay, I'll stop now. I'm really bad at singing. I make those people on Pop Idol look good. Maybe I could go on the show. And everytime someone who's really, REALLY shite performs, I could perform afterwards, and suddenly they'd all be like... "wow, yeah, that person before was really good... we'll call them back". Genius. *nods*
Anyway, yeah. Have spent way too much time today watching episodes from the last season of 3rd Rock From The Sun. I don't need glasses, Yodes!! *coughs* So I just happened to mention that Tommy is like, way nicer in the last season. Observe the pic on my Dudes page if you don't believe me! (Ha. Yeah. Like that's gonna convince ya.) Also, watched the whole of Dashboard Confessional's Unplugged session, from the CD my dad tracked down for me *grins*, although I'm slightly traumatised now, as the female half of my dad's half of the family (no, work it out yourself!!) were all drooling over the pic of Chris Carrabba on the front of the CD... ewwww! Not "ewww" to Chris (mmmmmmm... lmao) but "ewwww" to the fact my nanna went, "oh, he's nice, he's lovely", and then my auntie wanted to know what his name was... strewth. =p
I could add a mini-rant here, about people who call and act like they're (still) your best buddy, and wow has it been that long?! So why do you not bother calling any other time, eh? Answer me that... then I might come out with you. And for fuck's sake... if I wanted to get pissed and drag meself around town, then I would, but I don't, and I never ask these people who are so fucking set on me doing all that to do anything I wanna do, so put a bloody plug in it, why don't you?
See, now I feel bad. *sighs* I'm lovely, really, you know...

Music: Aretha Franklin ~ Son Of A Preacher Man

There's a new page! (Hopefully). I figured I may as well drag everything out of my lyrics/quotes book and stick them on here. You know. Just because.

Music: The Foundations ~ Build Me Up Buttercup

Well, I'd just like to say that American Idol is FIXED! Because no way should that girl have been voted off last night... anyway. Now you all know my guilty secret, i.e. that I actually watch that shite. My second guilty secret would be I fancy a Middlesbrough player *argh*, but um, we'll not dwell on that.

Speaking of football, the FA Cup Final is on in about 20 minutes... I want Southampton to win. =) Better that than the Arse. And congrats to Sheff Utd to getting through to the Division One Playoff Final... I couldn't watch, it was too damn tense, I wanted them to thrash Forest so damn much! But they did! Haha. Derby are in a sorry state at the moment. Burley, Lee, Ravanelli, Evo (NOOO!!!) and Marv have all been let go, which is kinda crappy in some cases. Fingers crossed that Kinky & Mozza stay...

Music: Dashboard Confessional ~ Hands Down

I should discover CDs I forgot I had more often. I've just spent half an hour re-acquainting myself with A Boy Named Goo, some early Goo Goo Dolls stuff... which was nice. =p And then I saw Iris on the TV. Bonus points! *kills all the little space invaders* Actually, I might well be killing whoever invented slow downloads soon... or maybe just WinMX. "Yes, these tracks are available, but sod you, you're not having them!" I have a ton of Dashboard songs stuck there doing nothing, and... ooh, Twisted Sister just came onto my media player. *sings along loudly for a moment and does necessary headbanging* Anyway, yeah, I want my downloads and I want 'em now!!

I finally finished ONE of my stories. *does mad dance- not literally, of course* The fact that I've had something of a severe case of writer's block means I've actually been a good l'il Eskimo and done some revision for once, instead of writing the other stuff. *ooh, gold star* But last night I made the effort, so hopefully I'm back on track... oh, look at all the happy faces! Or not... ;)

I've also decided that Spin City is a damn fine distraction of an afternoon when I'm not wallowing in the delights that Chezzy College has to offer. Stuart's my favourite... *guilty secret ahoy!* Why are American sitcoms always so much better than British ones? Except for Phoenix Nights, of course... "woah, woah, woah, sweet child of mine!" *grins* It made sense to me. And I see Dave is laughing... =p But yeah. Seinfeld, 3rd Rock, Frasier, they're all way funnier than, erm, Time Gentlemen Please, or whatever crap we have on offer most nights. I'll probably get captured by the BBC now. Oh no. One of those pesky lefty students on the loose again, GET THEM!

Music: Foo Fighters ~ Monkey Wrench

Possibly my most embarrassing misheard lyric of all time... I always thought Dave Grohl was singing "monkey friend" *looks ashamed*. My favourite misheard lyric that I can lay claim to, though, is "I wanna be your lover, baby, I don't wanna be your BALLS", when *ahem* obviously Bob Dylan was singing "boss". I'm not entirely convinced I'm wrong though, try listening to It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry and you'll see!

Anyways... had to buy HIM's new album today, the name of which escapes me... ah, "Love Metal", I think. My brother is 15 on Wednesday, which is kinda scary, but at least he survived the time I almost blinded him with a piece of elastic. Don't ask. =O Anyway, to talk about someone other than ME for a minute =p, he's taken to wearing his old school blazer, covered with punk badges and with "1977" and "Passion Is A Fashion" on it. Currently worshipping Joe Strummer (RIP), cue a) huge amounts of piss-taking whilst at school and b) erm, more piss-taking whilst at school. Rebel Without A Clue!! Better that than some kind of normal person... ;) Happy Birthday TomTom.

Finally the Marine dude got voted off of American Idol! *grins* Addictive viewing... well, actually, it's plain CRAP, and the bloke that presents it looks like a carbon copy of my least-appreciated Ferret Guy. With the added personailty trait of thinking the USA invented everything. *insert rant here*

Note to Trout: I have RW's first 2 albums dude. And I saw him live. That's when you wanna be ashamed... *grins* I think you're safe. =p

Music: Jungle Brothers ~ Freakin' You

Mock exams are evil. Especially when the question runs along the lines of "Marxists argue that popular culture reinforces dominant ideology", and you're forced to resort to making reference to 'Rat Race', of all films. *looks ashamed* Speaking of! I FINALLY saw 'Road Trip' this weekend (yeah, okay, slow much?!) and it was... um... okay I guess. *grins* Hello, I'm Barry Norman. =p Check out the Musical Moments in Pointless Fun #1. I mean, if you're REALLY bored or something. =D

PUNK'S NOT DEAD! *waves at my Monkey Friend / Dave Jr* My personal favourites would be the Undertones... whose Greatest Hits I got for a fiver in HMV a year or so ago, bargain!! =p I'm having a punk day. Mostly because I was feeling fed up, and my bizarre mix of REAL punk / cheesy songs / Hanson *cough* cheers me up. Anarchy. Yeah. Rock on, Eskimoes.

Music: The Clash ~ I Fought The Law
