Well a holiday wouldn't be a holiday without some modelling action. The stoneman is a character in my game. The penguin was modelled and textured, so I could get some experience making low polygon characters. The penguin consists of 734 polygons. While Box Modelling I applied a Symmetry modifier so that I could see both sides of the character while manipulating vertices and cutting faces.
My friend and I were discussing what sort of graphical style would best suit the next mario game, Mario 128. The scrolling picture is what I ended up with. It's recommended that you right click it to zoom in on the finer details. There were no major challenges, it was simply fun.
On a side note, I got a really good fur plugin for 3DSMAX and Kirby looks just so stylish with the fur. Hairless Kirby just appears so... naughty now.
